ā¤ļø The Good: Beef Sando
ā€”
šŸ„Ŗ This is probably one of the best brisket sandwiches in town. Tender, buttery beef brisket with crunchy, tangy pickles sandwiched between toasted bread. Personally not a fan of so many pickles and had to take out 1-2 but I still liked the crunch and tang. The ratatouille in between was also a pleasant flavourful surprise.

Canā€™t stop thinking about the sinfully good brisket... not for those on a diet because thereā€™s a good amount of fat and for good reason.

This one is a real treat yoself meal - tender seared flank steak topped with perfectly cooked onsen egg and fried garlic chips. Delicious, but pricey!

The ice cream here was worth the long trip to get here. Burnt Cones boasts various ice cream flavours from the basics like dark chocolate and earl grey, to Garrettā€™s popcorn and strawberry basil. All of them were not too sweet which I really appreciated because Iā€™ve tasted some which were way too sweet for my liking, even as a sweet tooth.
They also have a few savoury/sweet food options like croissants, waffles and a big breakfast. Not bad but Iā€™d rather save the stomach space for ice cream.

Finding this place took a while, but the trip was worth it.
Not only do they cook it in front of you, they also ask what level of doneness you want your beef to be.
Beef was cooked to perfection and the meal comes with 2 side dishes chawanmushi and miso soup. The side dishes leave much to be desired surprisingly, but I wasnā€™t there for that.
Beef sukiyaki in other places can get so cloyingly sweet but this one was actually pleasantly sweet, probably thanks to the quality of raw brown sugar being used.

This is truly a little oasis and a neighbourhood gem. Very small place but thank God I was able to get a seat inside on a weekday afternoon. The iced latte came in a cute glass and tasted great, not bitter but fragrant. And the cafe plays soft jazz in the background which wins brownie points from me.

I got the Nutty Professor, Inquisitive Wanderer, Curious Merrymaker and Best Friend. I liked them all! The texture was just right for me, not too crunchy but soft and decadent.

Fudgey soft brownies with a rich gooey centre. Delicious but should ideally be shared, as it can get too sweet and cloying towards the end if youā€™re eating 1 by yourself.
The brookies were also worth mentioning, I had the Houjicha flavour and the flavour was just perfect. Not too much to overpower the chocolate taste but not too little that you canā€™t taste it.
While the price is pretty steep, Iā€™d gladly return for more.

We had the truffle roasted duck, mala fish, brussel sprouts and lobster pai tee. All of them were not bad but quite overpriced IMO. The lobster pai tee was the best dish out of the 4 with a generous amount of lobster, slathered in rich mayo and topped with ikura. Truffle roasted duck was not subtle with the truffle which I appreciated. The mala fish was average, while the brussel sprouts was a bit too sweet with Thai chili sauce-like taste.

Not a frequent eater of pitas but the pitas here are really good! We had fluffy warm pitas stuffed with meatballs and cauliflower (separately). The one I had with beef/lamb meatballs had a lot of vegetables stuffed inside as well, I like that they donā€™t skimp on the fillings.
One downside was that the overabundance of sauce made the pitas soggy but the flavour of the fillings made up for it. They even gave us pita ends and some sort of tahini sauce as appetisers. Would love to come back and try their other fillings. The shop is very small though, no space for dine in if you havenā€™t made a reservation.

This was a solid bowl of ramen! Tonkatsu broth was good, not overly cloying but still flavourful. The egg and chashu were meh. That seaweed like vegetable though, was interesting. Never had it before but it soaks up the broth so well.

The salad was anything but small. Loved the large portion. The dressing however was too sweet for me, and this is coming from a sweet tooth. Shouldā€™ve asked them to put it on the side for me so I can put it myself but other than that this was a pretty solid vege meal.

After much hype, we decided to give Over Easy a try. Sadly it didnā€™t meet our expectations, this was pretty overhyped. Everything was average. Nothing tasted really good, and for the price we expected it to be really good.
Itā€™s still a good place to enjoy the scenic view and to get that American diner vibe but other than that, I would not come back for the food/drinks.
