Finally I got to try the Matcha Blondies ($9.70) from Edith Patisserie (@edithpatisserie). Using matcha powder imported from Japan, the natural bittersweet taste and robust matcha flavour explode with every bite I take. π
Are you green with envy? If you're a matcha lover, this is a must-try! π
Since I didn't and won't get to travel overseas this year, I shall eat my fill of the food around the world. π€ One of the best things about Singapore is that we can pretty much find almost all the cuisines we can think of. This time, let's have some Thai! π
Sanook Kitchen has opened a new outlet at Heartland Mall @ Kovan. Besides having wallet-friendly dishes, I like that Sanook Kitchen serves healthier rendition of Thai food. Food is less oily and dessert is not overly sweet, yet the distinct Thai flavours still hit the right spot and satisfy my taste buds. ππ»
Start with the hot and sour Tom Yum Prawn Soup ($5.90), π€€ prep the tummy with some Deep-fried Stuffed Chicken Wings ($4.90), dig into the fragrant Basil Beef Rice ($5.90), not forgetting the quintessential Pad Thai Noodles ($5.90), and end off with the delightful Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk ($6). π
P.S.: You can ask for sugar to add to your Pad Thai Noodles if you want.
Gimbap ($10), essentially rice rolled in seaweed with selected ingredients, is one of my favourite Korean signature foods and my must-order if the Korean restaurant I visit serves it. Woorinara Korean Restaurant (@woorinara.sg) serves the traditional gimbap rolled with vegetables and spam, as well as another version rolled with cheese.
Bukit Timah area is a strong battleground for Korean restaurants in Singapore. For a meat lover like me, the Beef Bulgogi ($15 with rice) from Woorinara Korean Restaurant (@woorinara.sg) has won me over with its robust sweet and savoury marinated beef. π Thick and big slices of beef served on a piping hot plate, every piece was so tender and flavourful, we finished them in no time. If only I could have this everyday without a care of my waistline π.
Cheese Seafood & Kimchi Pancake ($23) from Woorinara Korean Restaurant (@woorinara.sg) was totally on point with the satisfying cheese pull, π€€ it was crispy around the edges and moist in the center.
For the price point, I was expecting at least a few chunks of squid and succulent prawns (like what we had in Korea). Well, it was still comforting to find a few emaciated shrimps π .
If you habitually enjoy dim sum on weekends like me, check out Sum Dim Sum where you can pre-order for delivery of dim sum! Alternatively, simply dabao (order takeaway) over the counter. π
Check out their Facebook/Instagram for more info.
Oh that flavourful broth, springy noodles and tender beef brisket which just falls apart easily. What's not to love?! π
Think crispy rosti, tender steak and moreish roasted potatoes. π€€ How I wish I was working near this Swiss restaurant! With a long list of mains and sides (adding up to 18) to choose from, can you imagine/calculate how many permutations of Swiss meal (1main + 2sides + 1sauce) I can create?! π
Download the Burpple app and subscribe to Burpple Beyond's membership, you can enjoy an awesome meal at Wursthans Switzerland with the 1-for-1 deal! π Don't say bojio hor~~
Smooy serves great froyo but their chocolate ice cream is awesome too. Rich and milky! This lesser known froyo surprised me with the variety of toppings and sauces. Love the beautiful galactic colour chocolate topping π! Thanks to Burpple Beyond, I can get 2 for the price of 1. π
Ribeye Skewer from Chatuchak.SG is not to be missed. Seared until just medium-well (the way I like it), simply seasoned with only salt and black pepper, drizzled with nacho-cheese-like sauce π€€, this SUPER GIGANTIC ribeye skewer is a dream come true for beef lovers like us.
Thai Green Milk Tea ($4) from Chatuchak.SG. There are many local cafes and eateries that set up stalls at Chatuchak 2020, and one of them is Kopifellas. Sadly, the Thai Green Milk Tea tasted weak and dull. Moving on... π€
Thai Milk Tea ($4) from Chatuchak.SG. Look out for the stall with a tearista giving a splendid tea-pulling-spinning performance. Yes, that's one of the few authentic Thai stalls serving really thick and robust Thai milk tea. π
