However, i was quite hesitant to try due to mix reviews online about how the portion was really small and how raw vegan food was an acquired taste.

We ordered the:
1. Avocado kimchi rolls ($14)
-Served with almond sushi 'rice', housemade kimchi and topped with avocado.
- My mum felt that the sushi was too dry for her liking as they used nuts rather than rice. For me, i felt that the kimchi did add a crunchy and juicy texture to the entire dish. The dish wasnt mindblowingly tasty and tasted pretty average. Its definitely drier than the avocado sushi that has sticky moist japanese rice. Having been in korea for months for my semester exchange, i felt that the kimchi taste was too mild for my liking and wasnt very authentic.
-3/5

2. Acai Bowl ($15)
-Acai berry, raw museli, seasonal fruits and raw berry puree.
-This acai bowl was TOOOO SWEET for our liking. It totally lacked the sour accent of berries. The raw museli was too hard for us that we didnt finished it. Overall we didnt enjoy it as it felt really one dimension and all we could remember about this dish was just the word SWEET. I felt that the sweetness masked the acai profile (as we couldnt taste the fruity red wine flavour with chocolate overtones that most acai blend have).
-The portion is really very small (probably between the size of a medium to large acai bowl) and for $15, it is a tad too pricey, especially since the ingredients/toppings were very little.
-0/5

Worth it: 1/5. Yeap i have to agree with the online reviews that the small portion certainly does not justify its price (with 10% svc). Also, the taste was below/just average and hence i wouldnt pay so much for it.
Ps. We went to try as we saw that they have 50% discount for EATIGO users at weird timings (ie 3-4.30pm) if you are interested to try then i feel using the eatigo deal would be better.

This cafe sells not only healthy fruit/acai smoothie bowls, but also juices with superfood as well as hearty grain bowls that you can fully self-customise.

We tried their super bowls $12 each (smoothie bowls):
1. Crimson Lush 3.75/5
-Base contains beetroot, raspberries and banana
-Topped with toasted granola, seed mix, toasted coconut shavings, cranberries, kiwi, banana (which i swapped for strawberries) & blueberries.
-I prefer this base over the acai as it was less sweet and more sour-ish😋

2. Acai Bowl 3/5
-Base contains acai, banana and mixed berries.
-Topped with toasted granola, seed mix, toasted coconut shavings, goji berries, blueberries, strawberries and banana
-This base was much sweeter.

Overall:
-We appreciated that the smoothie bowl bases were very smooth and finely blended but we would have preferred it to be more icy🤣. We loved how the crunchy nuts and granola gave the smoothie bowls a nice texture and dimension. We also loved that the fruits were tangy and hence its acidity really balanced out the sweetness of the smoothie bases.
-Glad that the portions were big and filling.
-I really love their innovations on the various unconventional bases such as fruity matcha, acai, going nuts (with peanut butter) etc ▪️Taste: 3.5/5
▪️Ambience: 3/5 (a little cramp for a cafe and it doesnt really have those instagramable ambience)
▪️Service: 4/5 (Friendly staff who patiently answered my inquiries about the sweetness of the smoothie bowls THANK YOU)
▪️Worth it: 3.25/5 Big portion but i would think twice before buying if i do not have the 1for1 burpplebeyond. Especially since i prefer tangy and icy smoothie bases but TGB's bases are a little too sweet for my tastebuds.
Overall 6.75/10

I wanted to build my own bowl but that option wasnt available on weekends.

Besides salad and grain bowls, shake farm also sells toasts, breakfast bowls, pita pockets, healthy shakes, acai bowls and chia bowls.

We tried:
1) Perfect Pesto (first picture) $14 6/10
▪️Chicken breast, walnut pesto, feta cheese (which i changed to beetroot humus), cherry tomatoes, red onions, toasted almonds, cranberries, spinach rocket.
-The walnut pesto was very flavourful but abit clogging and jelat after eating too much.
-The beetroot hummus was kind of lacking the spices/herbs flavour (which Haakon had << still my to go place for beetroot hummus). And it also felt jelat when consumed too much.
-I guess its not a wise choice to have too much dollop in one bowl because it can get very jelat.

2) Mighty Mexican $14 7/10
▪️Chicken breast, smashed avocado, cashew nuts, sweetcorn, capsicum, spicy salsa, spinach rocket.
- I really love the smashed avocado❤ as it is super creamy and rich with a buttery texture.
-The spicy salsa was nicely addictive.
- I love how the cashew nuts added a nice crunchy texture to this dish.

Overall, their chicken breast was slightly dry and lacked of flavour. I think they sprinkled some seasalt over the salad bowls so some parts felt very salty. Nonetheless, what i like about this place is that they include the calories and macros for each bowls. A plus point for calorie-conscious peeps and also people who are body building!

Overall taste: 3.25/5
^ purely based on the dishes that i've tried. They have other popular protein bowls like grandma roast (which has sweet potato and carrot mash as the base instead of salad greens), veganlicious and all day brunch which are only available on weekdays.
▪️Worth it: 3/5 ( the portion was decently big but a little too pricey. There is BURPPLE 1-for-1 but only till 31dec2019)
▪️Service: 3.5/5
▪️Ambience: 3/5 (nice blasting of music, very western-ish feels but kind of squeezy)

Can go 😀 (will probably go back if i want healthy food and also use up my 1for1 on burpple)

French Toast with Truffle Ice cream 5/5
- Hands down the BEST french toast i’ve ever had in my life! I really love how the french toast didn’t feel oily or greasy at all. The french toast was thick, nicely covered in egg wash and is SUPER SOFT, MOIST, FRESH and FLUFFY! In between the toast lies a layer of aromatic smooth slight salted peanut butter.
- The Truffle ice-cream tasted like vanilla ice-cream with a very subtle hint of truffle aroma (wished it could be stronger). I kind of find the icecream a little too sweet for my tastebuds (i don’t really love sweet food/my sugar-tolerance is low so i think most people will like this sweetness level). Nonetheless, the combination of the soft, fluffy and warm savoury french toast with the cold sweet truffle ice-cream is DIVINE!! The sweetness of the truffle icecream was a PERFECT substitution for “honey” added to french toast. Will choose truffle icecream over honey for my french toast any day~ And the savouriness of the peanut butter really balanced/cut the sweetness of the icecream. The almond crumbs really added a nice crunch dimension to this dish
- Please make this french toast permanent on the menu!!! BIG LOVESS This is by far my 2nd most favourite elemen dessert (my 1st is still the pumpkin puree with coconut icecream)

8. Ice Truffle Coarse salt rose drink (4.75/5)
- Although I could not taste any truffle aroma in this drink, i really love the fragrance of the rose (which was distinct and strong). This cooling savoury rose drink is really a great thrift-quencher. Super refreshing!! Overall Taste for the TRUFFLE-licious menu: 4.7/5
•Ambience: 4.5/5 Nice cozy restaurant
•Service: 5/5 Warmth and nice; love how the staffs explain the dishes that the served
•Worth it: 5/5

We tried:
1) Thai green curry ($6-8) 7.5/10
- With brinjal, tomatoes, tofu, mock fish, long bean and okra; served with brown rice and soup.
- It was surprising that even without meat, the curry was flavourful and had so much depth. Glad that it wasnt overly salty :) while the curry wasnt mindblowingly amazing, it was certainly not greasy and tasted like a very hearty homecooked meal.
-The soup that served along with the rice was too blend and lacked of flavour.

2) Red yeast wine mee sua ($6-8) 6.5/10
- The red yeast wine soup was abit too sweet for my liking. I was pretty shocked when i first tasted it because it almost felt like i was tasting water with sugar??? And the wine taste was very mild and absent. However, after drinking a few more times, I grew to be okay with the sweetness level and the wine flavour, although very weak, subtly became more prominent. The soup flavour really grows on you. But still am not a big fan of their red yeast wine version because i prefer savoury to sweet soups. Glad that the mee sua didnt became overly soggy even till the end although it was soaked in the soup for quite sometime.

Their menu is really extensive~ hoping to try their other specialties like thunder tea rice, sambal petai, bibimbap, ginger mee sua, dumpling ramen and also tofu "oyster" omelette etc in my future visits~ probably can find something i will love hehe

Taste: 3.5/5
Worth it: 3/5 (quite pricey considering its all vegetables; but its certainly felt very homecooked and hearty)

Definitely my MUST GO restaurant in GZ~

Previously reviewed the November’s menu: https://www.instagram.com/p/B54BDEkAAr-/ hehe preferring the Nov menu more though~

I really love their concept of changing the menu monthly because its just so excitinggg!!! For the december’s menu, I love the miso soup and the dessert the most !! The truffle claypot rice was good but I personally felt that truffle taste could be more prominent and intense!

Pork Cheek Pasta ($23) 7.5/10
- Pappardelle with tomato red wine sauce and pork cheek, sprinkled with parmesan cheese
- The portion is quite big with good amount of pork cheek. The pasta was cooked al dente and tasted homemade. Pappardelle, which are large, very broad and flat pasta noodles, is one of my favourite pasta noodle type (i personally prefer flat and broad ones because they have a nice chewy bite and sop up thick full-bodied sauces really well, bring out the wholesome flavour). I particularly like the tomato red wine sauce as it is rich and tangy but not overly-sourish. It tasted really well-flavoured and homemade. Unlike the reviews that i read, the pork cheek was really tender and not too hard (so i guess there might be some consistency issue). I love how they gave a generous portion of the pork cheek, sufficient enough for me to complement with the pasta in every bite.
- My only gripe about this dish is that they could have some cherry tomatoes or bigger tomato chunks in the sauce to add texture and juiciness as well as reduce the overall jelatness (can get bit clogging till the end). And probably a little spiciness can add another dimension to this dish

4. Crabmeat pasta ($24) 6.5/10
- Tagliatelle tossed in tomato cream sauce, overloaded with blue swimmer crabmeat pieces. - Love Rookery’s generosity with the ingredients in the pasta. There was generous portion of crabmeat. The tagliatelle was too done al dente with a good thickness and a firm bite. Love tagliatelle (ban mian kind of texture). As compared to the pork cheek pasta which is tomato based, this tomato cream based sauce made us jelat quite fast. Preferred the one without cream.

5. Vongole alla blanc 0/10
-Korean clams, garlic, white wine, chilli flakes, toast
-The sauce is seriously VERY salty and the quality of the clams does not justify the price NOPE NO GO. ▪️Taste: 3/5 (some hit some misses)
▪️Worth it: 2.5/5 (Pretty ex and since the taste isnt that mind blowing, i would rather pay for better food elsewhere. PS: there is 1-for-1 on burpple so if you want to try i think using 1for1 would make it more worth... for the taste😅)
▪️Overall: 5.5/10

1. Miso-Glazed Norwegian Trout ($28) 6/10
-Norweigian trout with zucchini noodles
- By default, the trout will be served medium rare but i requested for a medium version as i do not eat raw food. Even for the medium version, the trout was really tender and fell apart nicely. I also love how the trout was fresh, without any fishy aftertaste. However, the miso flavour profile was really very mild and tbh i could not taste any miso flavour. Instead, there was a tinge of sweetness (not too sweet till the dessert level kind) that accompanied the salmon. I wished that the miso taste would be more prominent. The zoodles were nice and crunchy. Normally, they will be mixed with pesto mayo but i requested for no mayo (I don’t like mayonnaise) and they served me with sesame sauce at the side which was nice. Felt that the creaminess and mild fragrance of the sesame went quite well with the sweetness of the fish. Overall, it was not bad; well-cooked salmon but nothing really stands out or shook me.

2. US Kurobuta Pork Chop ($29) 4/10
- Pork chop served with curly fries and mesclun salad.
- The pork chop was a tad hard, dry and fatty for our liking. The portion of fats was more than the meat. I personally still prefer PocoLoco’s pork chop which was more tender and well-flavoured!! The curly fries and mesclun were okay. Nothing special nor mind-blowing, pretty average~

My favourite flavour has got to be their spinach banana oat bran muffin as well as two-berries muffin which are sadly not available on their menu anymore. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!! Their blueberry crumble is not bad too!!
^ mainly loving their muffins because it has the right level of sweetness (although i think i would love it even more if it is less sweet HAHHA ooops)
•Taste: 3.5/5
•Worth: 3/5 (quite pricey tbh but not bad considering that their ingredients contains less nasties and hence its "healthier")
•Overall: 6.5/10

Finally trying out their pure matcha latte which uses japanese matcha powder. MEH :( the matcha taste was SUPER FAINT and subtle/almost non-existent. NOT WORTH the price ($6.90 for their smallest cup) It was really too milky for my liking :( i rather spend my money on matcha latte from matcha specialty stores like matchaya or hvala~

My favourite is their garlic bagel as well as cheddar bagel! Hoping to try their all-sorts/sesame bagel in my next visit🤤

We self-customised our bagels today!
1) Garlic bagel + scallion scrambled eggs + Hobo greens + Tomatoes + Avocado ($10.70)
2) Plain bagel + scrambled eggs + Cheddar + Smoked pork belly -Their bagels were seriously very good and I must say that TMBH really sells the best bagel in SG!! Having been to TMBH many times, their smoked meats are really well-marinated and flavourer! Their bacon as well as ham are of those good quality kind and differ from the usual ones (especially the bacon!) My favourite combination is their avo-baco (avocado + bacon + fried egg/sunny side up + hippie greens + tomatoes + aioli) which used to be available at their TP branch! Personally i prefer their sunny side than scrambled egg because i love my egg yolk and whites separated. If you love spam, do try the Hawaiian at the NOVENA branch.

Note that the menu for the TP and NOVENA branch differs! If you are visiting TMBH for the first time, i would recommend to try their pre-customised signatures especially if you do not know what to order! You can self-customise it afterwards!

I saw that their TP branch menu has this new vegetarian option: Lulamon which i am SUPER tempted to try! Cant wait to visit them soon
▪️Taste: 4.75/5
