Featuring:
1. 𝗟𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻($13) - 10/10 ♥ Perfect ♥
- Finally got to try this vegan version available specifically at the TP branch. Consisting of cashew hummus, spiced cauliflower, onions, lotus chips and avocado in a sesame bagel, this vegan (bae)gel right here is really INSANELY MINDBLOWLINGLY GOOD. That perfect harmonisation of different textures and flavours is really out of the world!
- The flavourful, slightly sweet silk-smooth creamy hummus together with savoury, slight spicy well-marinated roasted crunchy cauliflower, crispness of the lotus chips, natural sweetness and subtle onion astringency and luscious rich, buttery fresh avocado was a divine combination that touched my heart. I really don’t know how to emphasised how impressed and touched i felt eating this bagel. It felt super hearty and multi-dimensional. Everything really came together perfectly. Definitely isn’t the common eggs, bacon, meaty bagels. This combination may not be the one for everyone (especially for meat lovers) but i certainly found my perfect one.
- Special shoutout to Sam who recommended me to get the sesame bagel instead of cinnamon raisin because the hummus is one the sweet side already so a savoury bagel would be better. Love the friendliness and upbeat-ness of the TMBH team!

2. 𝗛𝗮𝘄𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 + 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗴𝗴 ($15) - 8.5/10
- Hawt cheeks consists of chicken thigh, chilli, kewpie, hippie greens & bacon and we had it with the garlic bagel. This was really satisfying and the combination of juicy chicken thigh and scrambled egg works really well.

As previously reviewed,

MUST GO😊 i really recommend to try and play around with different combinations to find that perfect (BAE)gel.

-I really love this vegan dark chocolate icecream because the distinctive cocoa flavour, very subtle sweetness (probably 3/10) and the coconut profile was subtle so it didn’t overpower the chocolate. Love that it remained icy cold throughout and didn’t melted too fast while i took photos~
-Shoutout to their 𝕭𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖊𝖘𝖙 𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖓𝖔𝖑𝖆! The base of the is essentially their signature dark chocolate granola with dried cranberries and walnuts! I love how the walnuts added adds another texture to the granola and it tasted really fresh. Personally, i really love walnuts because of the firmeness and bitter notes complements really well with sweeter flavours.

A chat with the founders of @theoatberry made me delighted to hear that that they no longer use xantham gum (food additives to stabilise/bind food and improve the flavour + mouthfeel but may create digestive issues) in their granola bakes and are working with nutritionists to refine their recipes to make it nutritious and delicious. This news really made my day and yeah it got me really happy as to how they constantly seek to uphold their vision of creating clean, honest and nutritious, yet undeniably delicious food. I really feel that their efforts to continuously improve and perfect their formula (achieving that desirable level of sweetness and crunch) is really truly inspirational. Though the changed in recipe resulted in slight dryness to their granola texture, on the bright side its more crisps and definitely healthier~

Thanks for that macadamia drizzle😍😍loving that nutty savoury taste.

Thank you mum for participating in the giveaway because she knows how much i adore oatberry's healthy and yummy granola😋 and super blessed that my mum won the giveaway🙆‍♀😍❤ thankful to oatberry for this generousity.

We tried their new Valentines day menu:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗶 𝗯𝗼𝘄𝗹~
-consisting of Cacao infused acai blend with dark choco chips, vegan marshmellows (which i asked to be omited), strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, creamy coconut chia pudding and drizzled with luxurious macademia butter that added a nice savoury touch~ and of course it was topped with their signature oatberry granola: dark choco flavoured
-The dark cocoa infused acai blend has prominent cocoa flavour that overpowered the tanginess of acai berries. The banana profile was very distinct too. As a person who love the sour accent of acai berries and that very slight chocolatey aftertaste, i find the banana flavour a little too overpowering (not really a fan of banana soooo 😅). The acai blend was also a little too sweet for me (i have low sugar tolerance and would probs rate the sweetness 6.5-7/10). However, those who love chocolate and banana combi would surely love this!!
- Loving the 𝕯𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖈𝖔𝖑𝖆𝖙𝖊 𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖓𝖔𝖑𝖆 as well as all the toppings that accompanied this bowl. Their dark chocolate granola really has rich cocoa flavour and is the least sweet flavour. Totally would recommend this to chocolate lovers! I really can’t emphasise on how much i love their granola!! Its really the healthiest yet SUPER DELICIOUS version that i can find in SG

The service here is really good!! They are so nice and friendly! Thanks for changing out the banana on my bowl to passion fruit because I aint a fan of banana and asking me beforehand if i was okay that their acai blend contains banana.😊 ♥ To be continued ♥

#burpple #burpplebeyond #jyeatsout #jyacaieats #jylovesoatberry #jyveganvegetarian #jymustgo

Their granola is really mildly sweetened so I find the sweetness level really good (P.S my sweetness tolerance is really really low). Baked fresh locally and in small batches, their vegan and allergy-friendly delicious granola tastes super fresh and fragrant with a nutty/toasty oats aroma.
✓Dairy-free
✓Soy-free
✓Peanut free
✓Egg-free
✓EPreservatives-free
✓No refined sugars

I love how they have a great range of flavours available, from simple hearty original version to chocolatey flavours (double choco, dark choco), fruitylicious flavours (very berry, black forest, cinnamon apple) and even nutty ones (maple pecan, cashew red date & goji). Bought their cashew red date goji and dark chocolate this time round. Hoping to try more flavours soon!! Hearsay their maple pecan is the most popular flavour~

Okay so i used the phrase healthIER because their granola isn’t really the healthiest since they contain maltodextrin, xanthem gum BUT its in a very little amount. Most supermarket ones are incredibly sugar-laden and have unnecessarily high amounts of addicts, preservatives and sodium. Thus, its really a good healthy option available in Singapore to satisfy your breakfast granola cravings~ For really healthy ones, I recommend to try homemaking ^^ Although it takes time, you can customise and tailor the taste to suit your liking. But if you have really too little time to spare and crave for good healthy granola, then i really recommend @theoatberry.

Besides offering freshly baked granola, they also offer:
1)Açai bowls
2)Quick bowls (milk - dairy, soy, macadamia or oat/Greek yogurt/Vegan-friendly coconut milk ice cream - coconut or dark choco) that are topped with fresh fruits, nuts, chia seed pudding and of course their granola
3)Healthy fruity smoothie
4)Coffee

I have previously reviewed about their açai bowls, checkout #jylovesoatberry for detailed review.

This time, we tried their quick bowls:
1) Vanilla Bean greek yogurt, topped with maple pecan granola, chia pudding, mango, strawberry and blackberries.
2) Dark chocolate vegan ice cream, topped withdraw chocolate oats, mango, pumpkin seeds, chia pudding and macadamia drizzle.
▪️The greek yogurt was thick, rich and creamy with a nice vanilla aroma and was mildly sweetened (Sweetness level: 3.5/10). PS. they use farmer’s union brand. But i kind of prefer original unsweetened version (I am very basic HAHA) hehe
▪️Special shoutout to their dark chocolate icecream which had a good bittersweet level (Sweetness level: 3.5-4/10). As a fan of really high cocoa bitter dark chocolate, I personally wished that it could be more gao and bitter. However, I am glad that their dark choco wasn’t too sweet or milky.
▪️Their fruits and nuts toppings cost $1 per topping, Hoping they could be abit more generous with the quantity of the toppings especially the fruits!! ($1 for 1 strawberry abit ex??)
▪️I like their macadamia butter which is something i can’t find elsewhere.

As previously reviewed:
▫️Taste: 4/5
▫️Worth it: 3.5/5 (hoping they could be more generous with the additional $1 per fruit toppings)
▫️Overall: 7.5/10
▫️Service: The staff was really really friendly and nice😊👍 feels super welcoming and really thankful for answering my questions about the sweetness level😅 i am quite cautious when it comes to sweetness

Previously reviewed on the red yeast wine mee sua and green curry rice #jylovesvegepot On my quest to find the best thunder tea rice in Singapore and so i decided to head down to Vege pot to give their thunder rice tea a try😊

Featuring:
1) Thunder tea rice TTR ($6.50) - 8/10
-Consists of brown rice (quite well flavoured with mushroom seasoning), topped with long beans, braised tofu, cabbage, carrots, chickpea, sayur manis and preserved raddish (chye poh); served the the thunder tea soup~
-Their thunder tea soup was browner than usual. Personally i felt that the brasil and mint that was prominent but not strong in terms of depth. It was on the savoury side and I felt that its too salty to drink it on its own. However, if you mixed it with the rice and the vegetables, the harmonisation between all the elements was insanely perfect and very hearty! It felt like an homecooked meal filled with warmth and really reminded me of my childhood meal where i mixed everything when my mum cooked 三菜一汤 together. Special shoutout to the braised tofu that is really aromatic
-Their thunder tea rice is really different from the usual!! It tastes really more healthy and clean; feeling more like mixed vegetables and rice with soup. If you are looking for something more healthy and willing to try a different type of TTR, i really recommend this. Its not the best that i have ever tried because the ingredients used is quite different from the usual "traditional" version but its definitely the best unique TTR I've tried and topped the spot in terms of homey and hearty feels. THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES❤

2) Claypot Sambal fish rice ($6.90) - 6/10
-Their sambal was really flavourful and tasted similar to assam minus the sourness. The spices was really distinct and fragrant.

Taste: 3.5/5
Worth it: 3/5 (quite pricey but its homey)
Overall: 6.5/10

There is 1 for 1 today because its 11-11. Love acai bowls!! I remembered their acai was more sourish/tangy previously. Today's bowl felt a little too sweet for my liking. Nonetheless, Juju is still one of my top favourite acai places in SG because their acai blend isnt overly sweetened unlike some other places. And I really love the coconut chia pudding too! The subtle coconut fragrance and the pudding texture is simply divine😍 $8.90 for a regular bowl (quite small in portion tbh) is a quite pricey and tbh not very worth. Hence, I could only return when there is offer😅😅🙈 or once in a while for indulgence #brokestudentlife you can read my previous post for a more detailed reveal.

#burpple

We ordered the Tropicana and the berrylicious bowls ($8.90 for M; $11.90 for L). You can also self-customise your acai bowl by $9.50 M and $12.50 L.

As i was afraid that the acai would be too sweet for my liking (previously I've tried the acai bowl from Afterglow and it was SUPER SWEET :(( << will review it soon), I've requested to change the acai base to greek yogurt for the berrylicious bowl. Super thankful that the staff kindly agreed to. The service here is really 👍👍 i also requested for no banana and more chia pudding for the berrylicious bowl. Thankful to the staff who served the mafan me😅

We were super glad that the acai base wasnt too sweet. The acai taste was prominent and fragrant though it lacked that tangy sour accent (which JUJU acai bowls have) and was abit too frozen. Nonetheless, it still tasted really nice and refreshing. They were also really generous with the toppings😋😋 and special SHOUTOUT to their GRANOLAAA!! OMO this is the BEST GRANOLA!! It is minimally sweetened with just the right amount of sweetness to bring out the aroma of the oats 😍😍. Also, it is baked till perfection with the right amount of crisp! Glad that it is refined sugar free and gluten free!! Its really different from those sugar laden nasties that you find in supermarket! Another special mention would be their drizzle!! They have macadamia butter which was what we opted for because its different from the usual almond butter or peanut butter. Though the macadamia taste wasnt really strong, or it was masked by the other ingredients in the bowl, it still added a nice savoury touch to the acai/yogurt bowl.

Ps. There is 1for1 on burpple for their medium acai bowls (standard ones or self-customised ones). So its really worth it if you have burpple!

Worth it: 3.5/5 (Similar to most acai bowl prices and they were quite generous with the ingredients. Plus their specialty homemade healthy granola is really GOOD and WORTH trying)
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 7.5/10

However, i was quite hesitant to try due to mix reviews online about how the portion was really small and how raw vegan food was an acquired taste.

We ordered the:
1. Avocado kimchi rolls ($14)
-Served with almond sushi 'rice', housemade kimchi and topped with avocado.
- My mum felt that the sushi was too dry for her liking as they used nuts rather than rice. For me, i felt that the kimchi did add a crunchy and juicy texture to the entire dish. The dish wasnt mindblowingly tasty and tasted pretty average. Its definitely drier than the avocado sushi that has sticky moist japanese rice. Having been in korea for months for my semester exchange, i felt that the kimchi taste was too mild for my liking and wasnt very authentic.
-3/5

2. Acai Bowl ($15)
-Acai berry, raw museli, seasonal fruits and raw berry puree.
-This acai bowl was TOOOO SWEET for our liking. It totally lacked the sour accent of berries. The raw museli was too hard for us that we didnt finished it. Overall we didnt enjoy it as it felt really one dimension and all we could remember about this dish was just the word SWEET. I felt that the sweetness masked the acai profile (as we couldnt taste the fruity red wine flavour with chocolate overtones that most acai blend have).
-The portion is really very small (probably between the size of a medium to large acai bowl) and for $15, it is a tad too pricey, especially since the ingredients/toppings were very little.
-0/5

Worth it: 1/5. Yeap i have to agree with the online reviews that the small portion certainly does not justify its price (with 10% svc). Also, the taste was below/just average and hence i wouldnt pay so much for it.
Ps. We went to try as we saw that they have 50% discount for EATIGO users at weird timings (ie 3-4.30pm) if you are interested to try then i feel using the eatigo deal would be better.
Taste: 1.5/5
Overall: 2.5/10

This cafe sells not only healthy fruit/acai smoothie bowls, but also juices with superfood as well as hearty grain bowls that you can fully self-customise.

We tried their super bowls $12 each (smoothie bowls):
1. Crimson Lush 3.75/5
-Base contains beetroot, raspberries and banana
-Topped with toasted granola, seed mix, toasted coconut shavings, cranberries, kiwi, banana (which i swapped for strawberries) & blueberries.
-I prefer this base over the acai as it was less sweet and more sour-ish😋

2. Acai Bowl 3/5
-Base contains acai, banana and mixed berries.
-Topped with toasted granola, seed mix, toasted coconut shavings, goji berries, blueberries, strawberries and banana
-This base was much sweeter.

Overall:
-We appreciated that the smoothie bowl bases were very smooth and finely blended but we would have preferred it to be more icy🤣. We loved how the crunchy nuts and granola gave the smoothie bowls a nice texture and dimension. We also loved that the fruits were tangy and hence its acidity really balanced out the sweetness of the smoothie bases.
-Glad that the portions were big and filling.
-I really love their innovations on the various unconventional bases such as fruity matcha, acai, going nuts (with peanut butter) etc ▪️Taste: 3.5/5
▪️Ambience: 3/5 (a little cramp for a cafe and it doesnt really have those instagramable ambience)
▪️Service: 4/5 (Friendly staff who patiently answered my inquiries about the sweetness of the smoothie bowls THANK YOU)
▪️Worth it: 3.25/5 Big portion but i would think twice before buying if i do not have the 1for1 burpplebeyond. Especially since i prefer tangy and icy smoothie bases but TGB's bases are a little too sweet for my tastebuds.
Overall 6.75/10

I wanted to build my own bowl but that option wasnt available on weekends.

Besides salad and grain bowls, shake farm also sells toasts, breakfast bowls, pita pockets, healthy shakes, acai bowls and chia bowls.

We tried:
1) Perfect Pesto (first picture) $14 6/10
▪️Chicken breast, walnut pesto, feta cheese (which i changed to beetroot humus), cherry tomatoes, red onions, toasted almonds, cranberries, spinach rocket.
-The walnut pesto was very flavourful but abit clogging and jelat after eating too much.
-The beetroot hummus was kind of lacking the spices/herbs flavour (which Haakon had << still my to go place for beetroot hummus). And it also felt jelat when consumed too much.
-I guess its not a wise choice to have too much dollop in one bowl because it can get very jelat.

2) Mighty Mexican $14 7/10
▪️Chicken breast, smashed avocado, cashew nuts, sweetcorn, capsicum, spicy salsa, spinach rocket.
- I really love the smashed avocado❤ as it is super creamy and rich with a buttery texture.
-The spicy salsa was nicely addictive.
- I love how the cashew nuts added a nice crunchy texture to this dish.

Overall, their chicken breast was slightly dry and lacked of flavour. I think they sprinkled some seasalt over the salad bowls so some parts felt very salty. Nonetheless, what i like about this place is that they include the calories and macros for each bowls. A plus point for calorie-conscious peeps and also people who are body building!

Overall taste: 3.25/5
^ purely based on the dishes that i've tried. They have other popular protein bowls like grandma roast (which has sweet potato and carrot mash as the base instead of salad greens), veganlicious and all day brunch which are only available on weekdays.
▪️Worth it: 3/5 ( the portion was decently big but a little too pricey. There is BURPPLE 1-for-1 but only till 31dec2019)
▪️Service: 3.5/5
▪️Ambience: 3/5 (nice blasting of music, very western-ish feels but kind of squeezy)

French Toast with Truffle Ice cream 5/5
- Hands down the BEST french toast i’ve ever had in my life! I really love how the french toast didn’t feel oily or greasy at all. The french toast was thick, nicely covered in egg wash and is SUPER SOFT, MOIST, FRESH and FLUFFY! In between the toast lies a layer of aromatic smooth slight salted peanut butter.
- The Truffle ice-cream tasted like vanilla ice-cream with a very subtle hint of truffle aroma (wished it could be stronger). I kind of find the icecream a little too sweet for my tastebuds (i don’t really love sweet food/my sugar-tolerance is low so i think most people will like this sweetness level). Nonetheless, the combination of the soft, fluffy and warm savoury french toast with the cold sweet truffle ice-cream is DIVINE!! The sweetness of the truffle icecream was a PERFECT substitution for “honey” added to french toast. Will choose truffle icecream over honey for my french toast any day~ And the savouriness of the peanut butter really balanced/cut the sweetness of the icecream. The almond crumbs really added a nice crunch dimension to this dish
- Please make this french toast permanent on the menu!!! BIG LOVESS This is by far my 2nd most favourite elemen dessert (my 1st is still the pumpkin puree with coconut icecream)

8. Ice Truffle Coarse salt rose drink (4.75/5)
- Although I could not taste any truffle aroma in this drink, i really love the fragrance of the rose (which was distinct and strong). This cooling savoury rose drink is really a great thrift-quencher. Super refreshing!! Overall Taste for the TRUFFLE-licious menu: 4.7/5
•Ambience: 4.5/5 Nice cozy restaurant
•Service: 5/5 Warmth and nice; love how the staffs explain the dishes that the served
