Shiok maki 😍 Finally had my craving satisfied!! Went on a Friday night and the queue was so long that we decided to queue for sushiro but ended up waiting almost an hour which was even longer :-( decided to go for late lunch on Sat and waited for about 15 mins. Loooove the shiok maki $18.80+ for the eel one. It’s sinful but really so so good. Decided to be adventurous and try the pidan maki $16.80+ but didn’t really like it. Another must order which I forgot to take pic is the salmon fish head soup (sake atama soup $10+). The portion is so big and the warm soup just makes the meal more hearty. Spent about $27 per pax as we ordered agedashi tofu $5+ as well which could have been skipped given that there was tofu and vege in the soup. A must visit, no service charge!

Sukiyaki Pretty decent. The soup is not too salty.

Yaki udon Smoky and smooth fried udon with the vegetables providing that bite!

Yuzu Raspberry @$11.92 The prettiest and most popular cake at Nesuto. Vanilla sponge cake slices with Raspberry bits and 2 layers of yuzu mousse. Topped with white chocolate bits. The Yuzu Raspberry cake was rather too sweet for my liking to be honest.

Praline Noisette Gateau@$12.48++ Kids will love this. Crispy base and not so sweet also. Totally Taste like a Ferrero Rocher cake. Basically a premium Hazelnut chocolate cake.

Decadent Dark Chocolate @$11.92++ Decadent indeed. Super Gao. Cake was thick and moist, with 2 layers of dark ganache cream. A slice of damn sinful cake.

Jypsy Rainbow Sushi Roll $23 There's better things to order from the menu than this inoffensive assorted rainbow roll of salmon tartare, bluefin tuna and yellowtail. I'd pick any of the meat sticks over this.

Jypsy Oyster Shots $16 These statuesque shooters introduced the meal with flair. A cold appetiser of plump oysters submerged in a citrusy orange ponzu sauce, and in-lieu of Tabasco, a dash of heat by way of Momiji Oroshi - Japanese hot radish paste, created an enticing concoction of bright, punchy flavours.

Jypsy Tuna Tacos (2pcs) $19 I liked the look of these artfully plated lightly battered seaweed taco shells, filled to bursting with chopped tuna tartare, avocado, tomato salsa, wasabi mayo and topped with caviar. A medley of crunch, umami, acid and brininess made this a compact flavour bomb.

Pork jowl 38++ This made me go wow A perfect candy like char siew style crust, with the fluffiest interior. Even the herbs were used beautifully, the mild celery flavours complementing the sweetness of the pork perfectly The only problem is that the crunch dissipates quickly, within minutes. Otherwise must try

Barramundi claypot rice 36++ The Barramundi was meaty, rice was nice and has depth w the mushrooms adding umami, and there's crispy bits at the bottom Pretty decent, except the portion is absolutely tiny and doesn't even feed one. Tapas sized for this price, unacceptable

Signature Maki Then came the assortment of makis that we ordered. The TFS Signature Maki is a platter of their signature makis all in one plate, perfect option for those of you who can't make a decision. We also gave their Ebi Fry Maki and Spicy Salmon Maki a try, which we slowly savour throughout the night, with accompanying drinks and friendly conversations - no better way to end off the night!

Truffle ribeye A hole in the wall (quite literally), this restaurant is hidden along an alley on Amoy Street and you'd quite possibly walk on by if you haven't been paying attention or intentionally looking for it. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and started off with the Truffled Organic Ribeye Steak, which is a 200g NZ organic ribeye cooked to medium rare, topped with 5-6g of shaved truffles, accompanied by a bowl of grilled vegetables. Spotting a nice shade of copper red, this was flavourful and tender to say the least.

Classic Bombastic beef burger This burger felt so healthy I didn’t feel guilty eating it! The fragrance n flavour made a very satisfying healthy lunch! Burpple deal here is 32% off total bill! C’mon!

Mexicana (GF) This salad paired well with the spicy sauce provided. It gave the salad a good punch!

Grandma’s Roast It was as delicious as it was pre-covid at Telok Ayer shop. Now it’s Digital kitchen and there are just a few seats outside along the perimeter of the building. Can be warm in our sunny Sg! Service was pretty fast and your tray of order is placed on array in a small cubical box for you to self-collect.

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗸𝗮 𝟰 🍵🍞 We’ve always been curious about babkas, especially after watching vids of beautifully braided babkas in the past. This was their new babka flavour and we were stoked since it was matcha and black sesame <3! Unfortunately, the matcha flavours were overshadowed by the sourdough base and we wouldn’t have known it was matcha if not for the colour. The black sesame swirl however, was pleasantly nutty and sweet, a breakthrough from just eating sourdough bread, but we do wish they were more generous with it.

𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝟲 🍋🍰⭐️ We fell so thoroughly inlove with this bundt cake. The lemon flavour was a sour punch and cut through the sweetness of a bundt cake PERFECTLY. They use spelt flour which gave it an additional nutty oaty flavour which we really really liked. We even fought over the last bite of this!

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝟱.𝟱 🌿🥐 We were brimming with excitement when we got this because the SMELLS, the smell of cream cheese was absolutely heavenly, and the way it was a giant dollop on top? Irresistible.The cream cheese was rich and fragrant from the herbs. The only thing is that this is prob best eaten on the spot, because heating it up would melt the CC :(

Torta della nonna - Lots of pine nuts on top and within! - Taste was light with a prominent vanilla bean flavour, reminding me of a nougat which I enjoyed though it became a little one-dimensional after awhile. - Ricotta provided a mild milkiness, filling had a densely thick texture. - Crust was buttery sweet with a crumbly, biscuit-like bite similar to shortbread 🥧

May Weekend Special - Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Their Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake ($8) with a side of cream was very nicely done as well. The subtle zing from the addition of lime-infused cream was wonderfully refreshing and texture-wise was surprisingly airy. Fudgy and moist, the slice was not overly rich or cloying but best shared in my opinion as it was pretty chocolatey. 

May Weekend Special - Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Going straight for their Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun ($9), the crisp-flakey danish was so good. Filled with sweet-tangy Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, the pastry had a lovely Vanilla Custard hidden near the base - love the contrasting soft curd-like bites. The crunchy Pistachio Crumble was also very fragrant and nutty. Crowned with a soft Torched Cream Meringue, the buttery bake was simply yummy and superbly textured~

Fig cream cheese Sourdough Ciabatta 6nett Portion is pretty big, feeds 2 if that's all youre having. The figs are well roasted, but that's really all. Theres cubes of cream cheese but they taste like white cheese more, and the two flavours dont go tgt, and the overall taste is very mild, nowhere near sweet enough. Bread has way too much bite as always I struggle to understand why these cafe-hopping girls love this
