Red Velvet Cake Was gifted this! Looks dense but actually texture is quite decent, was sufficiently moist. It had a weird taste tho I can’t rly pinpoint what it resembles. Cream cheese frosting is a bit sweet but they didn’t spam it and it’s easily removable so u can just choose to have less!

Salted Caramel Overload Cakelet ($18.90) Just had to try their signature flavour - salted caramel red velvet cake coated in signature cream frosting topped with caramel popcorn and home cooked salted caramel drip! Got a “cakelet” so it was easily shared by 3 of us. The cake was moist and the cream wasn’t too overwhelmingly sweet, so taste-wise this cake had a nice balance of both popular flavours without one overpowering the other. It was a pity that the popcorn and cones were soft though. Sorry for the slightly inaccurate visual representation of this cake in my review picture - the cake shifted in the box so it is a little messy in the picture :( Do wish that the box came with some kind of support for the cake because I hardly shook it but it slid a little.

Golden Salted Egg Cookies (3 For $65) I bought these babies at the CNY fair at Takashimaya Square. This was the first sample I tried at Butter Studio booth. Sooo buttery, with a hint of salted egg. There was a blob of yellow jam on top, which I thot was salted egg jam. Very nice I liked it very much. Went home, opened it, and ate half the tub at one go 🤭

Pho With Beef Balls, Beef Tendons And Beef Brisket Our standard go-to dish at So Pho because we really love the firm beef balls and the fatty beef brisket! We also love the slices of beef as they were really tender. 😋 For $12.50++, it is a reasonable amount of ingredients so we are not complaining. However, for those of you who are not good with spicy food, we strongly suggest that you don't add any of the chilli padi into the soup. The chilli seeds are REALLY spicy and they can catch you off-guard! Also, do eat your pho when it is served because the kway teow will clump together otherwise and the dish will not be as nice.

Summer Roll With Prawns, Grilled Chicken And Ham Vietnamese spring rolls with chicken, prawns, rice noodles and quite a lot of veggies in it! We love it when the spring rolls are paired with the fish sauce, as it gives a slightly spicy and yet tangy flavour to the roll, which we feel is a little tasteless on its own. On the other hand, we feel that the dark sauce does not go as well with the dish as it is a little too sweet (reminds us of the sauce used for Chee cheong fun). For $4.80++, it is a pretty great appetiser since there are so many ingredients in it and the sauce is great! However, we felt that the rice paper used for this spring roll was a little too thick and it is actually very difficult to separate the 6 rolls from one another as they stick together really tightly. 😰

Summer Roll With Grilled Beef Instead of prawn, this summer roll comes with grilled beef. The white sesame add ons the additional fragance to the roll.

Fish & Chips Yum yum!!! Tasted it for the first time here and it's halal certified. I got Cheesy Affair fish & chips at $10.90. Taste is superb as there's cheese in it too. Not oozing but just right for me. Pasta available too and other sides. Try it to believe it.

Cheese Karaage Pasta Cheese Karaage pasta (SGD8.90) Basically cheese on top of karaage with seafood sauce pasta. The cheese karaage is bomb!!! (Crispy) Pasta is nice too. Nice place, affordable, plain water self service. I want to come back.

Cheesy Affair Fish n Chips ($10.90) surprised that the fish was so small.. and there wasn't as much cheese as I had expected :< not as wonderful as I had expected too.. probably cuz I was too occupied with the tomyum pasta\(o_O)/

Kaya French Toast Waited 45 mins for this; off-peak, barely a few tables occupied. Very 'eggy' bread (the ones we whip up for a last min breakfast) , sour kaya ganache that not only has a weird colour, but taste and texture, desiccated coconut that's reminiscent of phoon huat packaged ones. The saving grace was the ice cream and that splash of Gula Melaka. Not too sweet but the elements just do not blend well. I had to pair everything with the ice cream to get some sense of what the dish was dreaming to be like. $15.90. I'll rather go for the real deal that's one decimal place behind.

Studio Cafe SG Here's Studio Cafe SG: serving local malay favourites along with some western foods. Cheap and good and not pretendious. (Fried Kway Teow was $6.50, Chilli Cheese Fries was $6) Sandwich is so-so though. The ice cream place next door, Little Prince Creamery, is awesome too! #toapayoh #burpple

Chicken Cutlet with Swiss Raclette Cheese Last hurrah with them before closure. Unfortunately this signature did not live up to its reputation. I thought three slabs of meat and special cheese justified the higher price, but they're small and simple, and the latter only offered visuals, nothing for the taste. Worse, the baby potatoes were lousy and the house braised sauce was negligible.

Crab Roll Last hurrah with them before closure. This signature was really good. The sensational crabmeat paired with fragrant croissant. The truffle shoestring fries were also superb.

Salted egg yolk chicken burger Salted egg yolk chicken burger came with two (!!) pieces of juicy chicken cutlet and a generous serving of creamy salted egg yolk sauce. Also had the slightly sweet taste of the Tze char oats that paired well with it. Delightful!

Salmon with couscous ($15) Salmon with couscous $15 8.5/10 Salmon was well cooked and succulent. They served the salmon skin which was very crispy on the side. Everything was well seasoned. Couscous was lesser than expected though. Overall good experience.

Vegetarian gnocchi With Meatballs $15+ It wasn't good at all. The gnocchi was mushy, the mushroom and meatballs were BONE DRY. The meat balls, when I chewed, it was like chewing on dry grainy jerky and rubber. It wasn't very flavourful and the onions weren't really caramelised as described on the menu. My Friend had the smoked salmon pasta and there were only two very thin slices of smoked salmon with soggy old tomato pasta and it cost around $18. Really disappointed and didn't live up to our expectations. The staff were nice but the food was totally not worth the money at all. Even Hawkers center western is 10 times better than the food we got. Sorry but not sorry. Will not come back again sadly

Mac & Cheese Burger + Beef Patty ($16) The title of this post is self-evident of how sinful this burger is. In its original form, it is simply a baked Mac & Cheese sandwiched in between two burger buns. Add on a juicy compact beef patty at $5 to give it that extra bite, and perhaps you could consider adding on a beef/turkey bacon or even a sunny side-up egg if you intend to turn the other cheek on being health-conscious. There are several sides you could choose to add on to your burger. I got the Old Fashioned Truffle Fries, which is your rehashed formula of shoestring fries fried in truffle oil and garnished with shredded parmesan. I'm not complaining though - I generally swing with them. The ones we got were lukewarm, to my slight disappointment, but they are still pretty darn tough to resist. If you're around Bugis or North Bridge Road, consider giving Wilder a go. They can be easy to miss as their small hideout blends in the scattershot of halal cafés nearby, but they are recognisable by their rustic, nature-inspired brownness. (7.5/10)
