Roast Irish Duck Super succulent and moist, the Roast Irish Duck ($22/ Quarter) was another hit. A tad fatty and heavy but the glistening skin had that lovely crackling crispiness. One to share among 3 to 4 people, the protein was really well-executed. Would go great with a steaming bowl of rice.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun In the mood for fancy hor fun, The Dragon Chamber’s Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun ($32) ticked all the right boxes for me. Doused in a copious amount of rich truffle gravy; the slurpy noodles were so moreish. The wok fried flat noodles, crispy deep-fried hor fun strips, silky poached egg and slices of premium US Wagyu short rib came together nicely offering a myriad of fun textures. Though the sauce could definitely be more earthy and “truffle-y”, the hot savoury mix was flavourful without being cloying. The beef was tender too and seasoned well.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun (S) | $32 Flat noodles wok fried served in a bowl with short rib and a poached egg was brought to the table, before the staff poured piping hot truffle gravy into it and mixed everything up for me before my eyes. Upon serving I was already wowed by the aroma, and with everything mixed up together as it should be, the flavours all worked out very well. Loved how the truffle gave that extra kick, and how the shortrib was decently tender. But what I really enjoyed was the deep fried hor fun strips which was a fun addition to the dish, with a nice crunch that blended with all the savouriness. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

Tonkatsu I am probably not the only one confused but there is actually not one but two Korean restaurants by the name of "Myung Ga" in the Bukit Timah area. I usually frequent Myung Ga II at Bukit Timah Plaza but it was closed the night I visited so I decided to check out Myung Ga III at Beauty World instead. According to the wait staff, Myung Ga II and III are separate restaurants whose owners are friends. They aren't related but have similar (if not the same) menu. The good is rather similar. The tonkatsu is huuuuuuge as with all Korean style tonkatsus with a nice sweet sauce. I ordered a takeaway which was probably why the pork cutlet came in pieces instead of one huge slab. The meat was well marinated and the crust shattering crisp. I do prefer Myung Ga II's version because it was a little more tender and juicy but it might just be because I had their tonkatsu fresh instead of sitting in a box for the 45 minutes drive home. I do want to know though... Is there a Myung Ga I?!?

Haemul Sunbudu Jjigae [$15] Soft tofu stew that comes with seafood or kimchi! Came with a good amount of seafood ingredients here like mussels, squid and a scallop. The default spice level is manageable, and was comforting to have. Rice is a separate add on.

Haemul Jaengban Jajang for 2 [$29] Constantly craving for something soupy and hot during these few rainy days! Found ourselves at Beauty World Centre’s food centre - if you’re familiar, you’d know there’s loads of Korean options around here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re big fans of Myung Ga II that’s at Bukit Timah Plaza, so we tried out Myung Ga III here - ordered their Seafood Sunbudu Jjigae + Seafood Jjajangmyeon. This was decent, while the flavour wasn’t mind blowing, we did appreciate how the jjajangmyeon didn’t get too heavy like how some would. To be fair, they seem to specialise in BBQ here at III and we didn’t get to try that, but otherwise, we much prefer II for the flavours and variety of ban chan!

XL Chicken Cutlet Nasi Lemak Marinated with over 10 types of spices, the XL chicken cutlet left me still salivating, thinking of my next meal here. The chicken was crispy, and they fry it after you ordered. The nasi lemak rice smelled good and tasted good. The ikan bills and nuts were sweet and crispy. 2 types of sambal where provided, sambal ijo and sambal blachan. Both were 2 thumbs up. The waitress was friendly and the ambience here is definitely very homely. Like I entered my neighbour's house for nasi lemak.

Pork ,Sliced Fish, Liver, Egg So good for rainy days .. heartwarming food

Pork & Sliced Fish Finally went down to porridge at coffeehouse with my colleagues as she always recommended for ordering the porridge before 11 a.m. as waiting time goes up 15 to 30 mins only but after peak hours, waiting time goes up to 1 - 2 hrs according to her. Pork and Sliced Fish (Small Size - $4) really up to the standard as they provided a lot of ingredients and serving size such as minced pork, pork liver and sliced fish. It's so worth it to order their porridge once in a blue moon if you felt that you just wanna eat something light. The ingredients for prawn mee such as minced pork meat, pork liver and also sliced fish was really freshly made daily. Porridge got that thick texture with adding half-cooked egg got creamy texture. The taste for porridge was really got old school style and also really want to order pork and chicken version next time.

Great service & food Had the Pork Udon with egg and rice with assorted tempura (Kakiage & Snow cream croquette). I like that they provide a few free condiments such as tempura bits & seaweed which you can add to your udon or rice like me to further enhance the meal. Being in a town area, the food here is affordable which explain the queue outside.

Black Garlic Tonkotsu Udon ($12.80) previously I didn't able to try it out but in ramen version. But it's much better than previous trip that I have tried it out. But I felt that their udon was quite hard and not that chewy texture in the past that they used have.

tamoya udon curry udon with beef - my go-to order! always love curry udon because i find that udon noodles always go so well with the slightly sweet/spicy japanese curry, and the beef slices are also such a great pairing. 8/10

Burple 1 for 1, 2pax $80.43, 1 soup + 3 sides + rice & drink Ordered the Barramundi Soup (small) and it was soooo good. 🤤 Would 10/10 recommend. Sides ordered were Mapo Tofu (second time visiting and their standards are inconsistent considering that I visited only 1 day apart. 1st visit was really tasty, they gave a lot of meat but second visit there were barely any + super tough). Chengdu spiced mini potatoes paired nicely with the soup and slightly spicy Mapo tofu. It was crispy and had a nice little spice kick. However the final side was a disappointment - chopped garlic pork belly(pictured). The serving costs $13 bef gst however the portion was really little (like why they hide the cucumber underneath to make it look like a pile of pork to make me so happy but then peekaboo it’s actually cucumber and I don’t eat veggie leh????boo), that aside the sauce was extremely spicy. Don’t get it unless you bring ur sugar daddy and he’s gonna be paying.

Summer Chicken Stew ($20.50++) It comes with a piece of sourdough. The stew may look unassuming but it is quite filling. The chicken thigh was tender and meat can be tore off easily. The potato skin was not peeled but it helps to keep the crunch. It may get abit salty after awhile. Would be good if there is a bowl of rice!

Seafood Somen ($21.50++) The somen tasted abit like mee kia. As the sauce is scallion oil, the dish was abit oily. The salmon was still tender and the scallops were fresh. Although the dish looks interesting, the taste was just normal. I would recommend to try other dishes.

Big in Japan. V2.0 My go to order here. I really love the mascarpone here and the poke with dill and the yuzu jam. Although I miss having the scones (previously it was a scones base) — the biscuits were a good base to complement the ingredients. I love the tater tots here too — not sure why I feel the ones here are better than other cafes — may be the honey. Coffee here is good too!

The sweet-savoury toppings were truly the highlight for me but the dough acted as a great vessel as well. The base was relatively light, not all that dense or greasy. Felt pretty premium as I was surprised by the small edges of soft Camembert hidden under the strips of cured meat. I also got the “Ham & Cheese” ($9.50), crowned with sliced Sweet Potato, Honey Baked Ham and Brie de Meaux. Lacked that oomph for me but a great buy on a whole as well~

The bite is not too much, it's very crispy outside, and theres a cake like texture as u chew, but very buttery so it gets jelat before you are done Not bad, can satisfying cravings. Thankfully the top wasnt too sticky, didnt really stick to our teeth
