Pretty good Korean food! Beauty World is full of Korean eateries and restaurants, and Ssada Gimbab is one that offers pretty good Korean fare! The Soybean Stew ($13) was really comforting and extremely flavourful. Full of ingredients like onions and sliced pork belly, this was one hearty stew full of umami flavours. The only problem was that we wished for more soup as it was so good! The Cheese Spicy Stir Fried Pork Rice ($15) came in a rather huge portion, with quite alot of melted cheese on top. This gave quite a good cheese pull, and it was so satisfying! The meat was tender and was quite flavourful while being not overly salty. This was pretty addictive and I can see myself wiping this clean! Definitely one Korean eatery to consider!

Garlic Fried Chicken In Spicy Soy Sauce Affordable and hidden traditional korean restaurant in a corner of Bukit Timah Shopping Centre! Back again for the 2nd time and this time I tried the fried chicken and it was daebak!! 😋 Very spicy but savoury in every bite, eat with your hand as you please 😊

Seafood Pancake [$16] Affordable and hidden traditional korean restaurant in a corner of Bukit Timah Shopping Centre! Tried the seafood instead of the kimchi pancake this time. Batter was good and pancake was crispy and savoury with its dipping sauce.

Yung Yang Jeongol The yung yang actually translates as nutrition, not yin yang or yuan yang. This was a random order but it turned out very good. The beef was so-so but there's a lot of ingredients and the soup was nice. The problem though was the stew had lots of fibre or something, which made it difficult to drink.

Banchan Kimchi, omelette, anchovies, seaweed. Omelette is quite rare as banchan and it's delicious. The seaweed was akin to China's and it sucked.

Pork Cutlet Their legendary dish, which isn't even very Korean (I think?). The cutlet is not only huge, it dominates the other components. It's fried well and the meat's decent. It's topped with a tomato-like sauce. But please eat while hot, because it became quite off-putting for us.

Wanted to try ckt and fried porridge, but one not open the other one sold out 😓, so walked around and saw this Korean bbq restaurant. So decided to just give a try. The restaurant called @joomaksg. Located at level 4 Beauty World Centre, it’s offering Korean bbq and Korean dishes. I ordered their the 3 portions comes with 2 black pork belly, 1 black pork collar, rice and soybean soup. Disappointing Visit Visited on 3 July 2021 after 2 failed attempts in 2020 as the queue was so long at night that we had to give up and ate sth else Was craving for jajangmyeon and this restaurant came up in a few articles so have been wanting to try but was rather disappointed. Perhaps because it is fried with pickled vegetables, so it left a sour taste in your mouth after each bite. Kimchi pancake was crispy at the edge but mushy in the middle… towards the end we only ate the edges However, we noticed that most ppl were having kbbq as their staff will help to grill the meat at your table for you. Perhaps that is their specialty instead but not sure if I’ll go back to try that… Nonetheless, sides were vvv good that we requested for extra servings. We evidently over ordered for 2 pax, spent ~$32 each

Garlic Soy Chicken Had Korean food on a rainy day at @joomaksg. We had jajjangmyeon, seafood pancake, sundubu soup and fried chicken. Everything was pretty good but what we were impressed with was the garlic soy chicken because of how crispy the chicken was and how tasty the sauce was 😋

Chicken House - Succulent Yellow Skinned Kampong Chicken @ Kilat Court The selling point of Chicken House is their kampong (free-range) chicken which are less fatty and thus healthier to consume. Such chickens are not very commonly available so if you prefer a guilt-free chicken rice experience, this is for you. Indeed, there is literally no trace of visible fat underneath the thin layer of that marvelous yellow chicken skin. I have always thought that kampong chickens are lean and tough due to their regular "workouts" however, my drumstick was succulent and flavorful. Pork Boat Noodle I was searching for Thai restaurant in Bukit Timah area and found this affordable place at the first floor of Beauty World Centre. If you come during lunch time, they have the $7.90 lunch set with a few options to choose from. Of course I went for their signature boat noodle, which you could choose either pork or beef. The soup was delicious and tasty, with the chewy noodle and lots of ingredients.

Ginseng Chicken I miss my Korean bbq adventure in Korea itself & @gokbbq_sg is my ultimate fail-proof Korean restaurant in Singapore. The specialty of @gokbbq_sg would be their aged meat for 15 days at below 4deg which allows the meat to develop richer taste & more tenderness. They even have a prominently visible Meat Aging Room inside the restaurant. At @gokbbq_sg just sit back, relax & let the expert handle the grill. The professional staff will come over & help cook the meat to perfection. They even use a thermometer to make sure the grill is at the right temperature to ensure the meat be at the best doneness & tenderness! Not only their aged meats are of the top quality & class, but they also serve really good Korean dishes too! Ginseng Chicken. Taste exactly how they’re supposed to be like in Korea. Cut into tender fall-off-the-bone chicken with a good portion of glutinous rice inside which had absorbed flavours of both the chicken & the broth & finish the meal off with spoonfuls of a fragrant, herb-laden broth.

Green Curry Beside serving their signature boat noodles here, they also offer a wide range of Thai cuisine. Their green curry was super creamy as it added milk, with pieces of chicken meat (or add $1 for beef); mixed with other ingredients. The rice also comes with a piece of fried egg to complete your meal.

Prawn Pad Thai | S$9.50 Flavours were spot on. Prawns were big and fresh. Only gripe was that the noodles were a tad too wet and I wish there was a bit more “wok hei” or “burn” to improve on the texture. Overall, my Thai craving was satisfied!
