Appetizer from last night's #BurppleHawmakase hence the fancy plating. It will not be presented like this if you order directly from the stall.
I'm embarrassed to say that this is my first time eating chinese rojak ๐
This was another main dish served during the #BurppleHawmakase dinner. The fish was drizzled with crispy fried lard and garnished with coriander. Love how tender and fresh the fish wasโ no fishy smell and the sauce did not overpower the taste.
This was part of the main course offered during yesterday's #BurppleHawmakase. This huge bowl was shared between the 4 of us and we (almost) scraped it clean apart from the burnt rice!
Also, I just realized chinese liver sausage = lupcheong
Nakhon has several outlets sprinkled around Singapore. I only patronize this outlet because it's the nearest to home. Reached around 6+ and it was full and there was a queue of over 15 pax before me. Total wait time from queue to arrival of food was about an hour. No reservations accepted. Definitely not for hangry people!
I always order the same dishes- grilled pork, honey chicken, green curry chicken, clear tomyum soup. Mains range between $6-8, more if you're ordering seafood. Not seen in pic is a bowl of rice and fried beehoon. They serve free flow lukewarm water if you do not feel like spending half a main dish worth ($3) on Thai ice tea.
Total damage was $33. Same price as the asahi tower from the restaurant across Nakhon. Lol.

Part of the lunch set menu too. The beef is in chunks unlike the signature truffle don which is in slices. Fat Cow also has this, but for $48 and without onsen egg.
Not to be confused with Fat Cow which offers similar lunch sets. Salad, soup and dessert. Missing a chawanmushi unlike Fat Cow.
The differences are: Black Cow's beef is thinly sliced as opposed to beef chunks at Fat Cow. They use shaved truffles instead of truffle oil.
The place is very small, reservations are recommended.
This place is actually pretty underrated for such cheap and delicious food. The owners (couple in their 30s) used to operate a cafe but it was sold/closed down and they bought over this tze char business.
I come here pretty often but always end up ordering the same food. Their specialties are listed on a board beside the cashier. For me it has to be salted egg yolk something, grilled pork and soup. There is a Thai stall beside so you can cross order.
Works out to around $15-20 per pax depending on your group size/what you order.

Stall number 45 at Newton Circus. They used to sell wheatgrass beer and spirulina beer. Unfortunately I procrastinated visiting for so long that they've since stopped selling it :(
Now they carry more mainstream stuff like Erdinger, Asahi, Kronenburg, Carlsberg, Tiger etc.

This joint used to be at Bukit Panjang but has since relocated to the 5th floor of Sime Darby Centre (ToTT store). It's air conditioned now!
Food is served on banana leaves, very traditional. So much feels. Rice is free flow. They serve prata and other Indian food as well. Unfortunately they close early, at 10pm, making them supper unfriendly :(

$5.20 XLB to commemorate SG52! Burpple had a 1 for 1 promo for this. T&C did not state only one redemption per table/multiple redemptions allowed. Was prepared to pay for 2 servings (get 2 free), but the manager offered us an extra serving FOC (paid for 1 and got 2 FOC). That was very unexpected and nice of them! The BKT taste was not as strong compared to the real deal but it was still a yummy treat.
Limited edition National Day edition nasi lemak dessert! Well it's past 9 August now but you can still order this. Pandan mousse hidden inside coconut "nasi", gula melaka sauce & yogurt mango "half boiled egg". The food and presentation here never disappoints!
