Not really a fan of char siew because the ones that I have tried are either too sweet or dry. Well, this plate of char siew + roast pork just changed my mind.
The char siew slightly charred, caramelized exterior is not cloying sweet, meat's tender & flavorful with layers of fat & meat. I must say that it's the best char siew I have eaten. So good that I bought some home for the parents!
Ask for lean meat if you are not a fan of fats. But trust me, char siew with a layer of fat tastes much better!
The best part about roast pork is the crackling! Pork belly with slight hint of five spice & crispy skin, anyone?
Do visit Yee Kee for some mind blowing char siew! Totally worth the calories & the trip down!
