decent sandos aesthetic cafe vibes but the sandos were quite small, would be good for a tea break pit stop. tried the losing nemo (salmon) sando but the amount of salmon given was quite little so would advice getting the others instead.

Expensive & Small Ordered the pork katsu and salmon nemo(?) sandwiches, and they are very very expensive for the original price of around $18 each, and even with the burpple deal it still wasn’t worth it. The pork katsu was almost impossible to chew as it was really tough, and the salmon was very average. One positive is that there is a really nice ambience and people can go there to do their work and enjoy some coffee. Not recommended for the food, will definitely not be coming back Rating: 2/5 🌟

Ember 2/2 - Burgers We also tried two burgers. The 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 ($16.90) fared better as the slab of chicken thigh was succulent. Ember 1/2 - Striploin Ember Charcoal Grill specialises in grilled meats using binchotan charcoal. There were also a few Burpple deals available, such as 1-for-1 House Brew and 1-for-1 Croffle. But since we ordered three main courses, the 30% Off Total Bill deal was the most value-for-money. The 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀-𝗳𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗻 ($25.90) was the star attraction on the menu. It came with a choice of two sides and a sauce. Even though the steak looked the part, with a beautiful pink centre, it was slightly overcooked and was tougher than expected. However the sides were sublime, while the Miso Kombu Butter added a depth of flavours. The Grilled Broccoli, with its crispy edges, was particularly praiseworthy. Ember Classic Waffle This was a surprise to me as I didn’t order it. But they found out this month was my birthday from my reservation on Chope. A complimentary home-made basic waffle in half, served with summer fruits and maple syrup. I definitely love the soft texture of the waffle, paired with the sweetness from the fruits and syrup.

Ebi & rosu katsu ($21.90) The tonkotsu was well-executed with tender pork loin (loved that it was lean while still juicy) and juicy prawn. Coated in thin crisp and flaky Panko crust. Choose between classic rice or their healthier ‘brown rice’ which was an enjoyable mix of chewy rice and barley.

Burpple Beyond Set Worth the price (portion is generous). Staff were welcoming ☺️

Rosu-katsu with daikon oroshi and ponzu sauce set Miss K and I don't usually mind paying the extra buck for the daikon oroshi "add-on" (finely grated daikon) which usually comes with a light tangy vinegrette sauce such as the ponzu sauce. The subtly sweet daikon and refreshing tangy and zingy ponzu sauce is a perfect foil to the heavy meaty flavours of the meat and the umami of the pork fat, and literally sets our taste buds alight. Onkei's tonkatsu is of a good size. Quality-wise, I think that it is good but a tad lower than some of the other tonkatsu restaurants which serve a more premium breed of pork as it is noticeably less juicy (not dry or tough for sure!) and less fatty albeit with a higher price tag. I love that besides white rice, Onkei also serves Japanese Hokkaido multi-grain rice at no extra cost and yes, it's free flow!

1 for 1 cocktails! 3 rose - was totally expecting a Bandung like drink but this was so much better! Not too sweet and just the right amount of floral notes Tequila and mango (forgot the name) - this was quite unique, it’s actually really sour and spicy, so was quite the surprise. But overall still quite yummy. With burpple beyond was very worth!

Mommy issues crepe “Sour and sweet, just like your relationship with mum” Haha that’s what the server told us 😂 hence the name of the crepe. This was actually super delicious. It taste a lot better than it looks. The fruits were fresh, the cream was just right, the dark chocolate and cocoa nibs really shines through, and the crepe was crispy and tasty! Was definitely a pleasant surprise! Will be back again to try their other crepes!

Horrible experience Business apparently got taken over and the quality of desserts/drinks are appalling, even Jack's place serve desserts than this. To make things worse, Manager in charge is unclear on burpple deals and overcharged me. Avoid at all cost.

Dessert & Cocktail Pairing Pictured above is the Kueh Salat ($16) with Butterfly Tonic ($24), and Exotique ($18) with Pilcrow’s Sweet Gin ($24). The Kueh Salat had a nice mouthfeel with its smooth custard that was delicate in the combination of pandan and coconut flavours. I enjoyed everything about the cake, but not so much the very sweet Gula Melaka ice cream scoop on the side. Exotique, Pilcrow’s signature dessert packs a sour punch with its yuzu curd within a beautifully executed coconut mousse. Refreshing, but there was a slight disjoint between the yuzu and coconut flavours for me. Both drinks were decent, and went great with the respective desserts. On a whole, I loved the progressive concept of the desserts here — how Pilcrow reimagines the flavours and pairs it with beautifully crafted drinks at the same time. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

Tarte au Chocolat ($16) Made with Valrhona 66% Ariaga dark chocolate, the tart itself was rich, luscious and decadent. The accompanying scoop of lychee rose sorbet was light and served as a palate cleanser though perhaps something more tangy would be even better.

Thai tea crepe At $8, the OG from Two Bake Boys doesn’t come cheap. Taste and flavour wise, given it’s a recipe from the owner, a Thai, it’s in a way, guaranteed good! The mille Thai tea crepe came served with a pouch of Thai tea drizzle, enhancing the tea-liciousness of the cake. Thanks to Burpple beyond 1-1, this is certainly way more affordable!

Birthday Came to celebrate my birthday and its definitely a good experience. Firstly, the staff is friendly and help prepare the cake when she know we are celebrating in the cafe. Secondly, the ambience is good to chill and chit chat. Lastly, the cakes are delicious. I love that the cake is not so sweet and the portion is good for 1pax. Will come back again :)

very pretty cafe!!! very well decorated cafe & cosy environment but had no one when we reached around 5pm. had their thai milk tea crepe cake & vanilla strawberry crepe cake for a total of $8 after 1 for 1 discount. the crepe cakes were flavoured mildly but the thai milk tea sauce helped to enhance the milk tea flavours so we enjoyed the cakes. it was a distance from bugis mrt station so we're on the fence whether we would purposely go back there again.

The pasta is well coated with the red sauce and is generous with the ingredients which consist of mussel, squid, clam and prawn. WB prefer a non pasta dish hence he had the wagyu burger. There is a choice of doneness for the beef patty and he prefers medium well. The beef patty is juicy and bread is toasted well. Pictured above are the hojicha and matcha lattes at approx $8 each at regular price. However, it’s worth considering if you are looking for a place to hang out as it is really peaceful.

Big Breakfast: expected it to be better for the price, the toast was kinda hard to cut, bacon was slightly over fried and hard, the egg mushrooms and sausage were okay Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict: this was good, but sadly they ran out of brioche bread and I had to top up $3 for croissant
