Was impressed with the crispy light batter, fresh cabbage and tiny squid bits, which are not chewy at all. Not the mention, the sauces, mayo and bonito flakes are FREE FLOW. It was darn shiok to spam my pancakes with the bonito doing its boogie! 😛 Service was also immaculate. However, I found out from my visit today that their method of preparation of their toast has changed (not sure when). Instead of having a lightly buttered and fluffy interior, the centre was dissected into cubes and heavily DRENCHED in salted butter — as if it's free flow (check out the extremely yellow cube peeking out). The Aftermath: It made me so ill that I could hardly walk, or carry out my regular activities for the rest of the day. All that butter is probably clogging my arteries & awaiting for a heart attack. Never have I felt like this before after having stuffijh myself with so much desserts & thick toasts in my life! #notevenkidding 🤷🏼‍♀️ No idea why they altered their recipe, but this one is an utter disaster! Walls of the toast, too, were very hard and dry. /
To the staff: If previous customers have mentioned that your toast ain't buttery enough, at least have the decency to trial and error your product before serving something that is unpalatable & makes them sick to the core. Also, please don't copy Dazzling Cafe's rendition. While they may be nice to look at, their toasts are the bottom of my list — tried and tested ✋🏻 / 😤 finally, the irony of this quote on their wall. All desserts are usually worth the calories, but this one WAS NOT. I hope they'd reduce the butter for the health of their future customers. Out of the stunning variety of pastries, my Friend and I instantly decided on this Matcha Sesame Cake [$8.80] from the moment we stepped in. Wish it was as nice as the palm tree wallpaper behind, but it was disappointing — to say the least.
While the cake was moist, every mouthful screamed "dense" to us. Matcha flavour was too weak for us matcha lovers 😣 Overall, it was more of a Sesame cake instead of 🍵

All in all, my second visit to Seiwaa within a month was even more satisfactory with my family; we ordered more appetisers & different flavours of Okonomiyaki. Service was impeccable on both times too! Waiters are extremely well-trained and we were at awe while they prepared the Monja. . •

All eyes were on the staff flipping our green tea-laden meats on the grill. Couldn't contain my excitement once they were passed to us!
However, we agreed that the green tea flavour is too subtle to be traced. Could only get a whiff from its aroma. To solve this, perhaps Matcha powder could be sprinkled on TOP before serving.. Just a suggestion of course 😉
