Headed to the cafe just before lunch time to experience their breakfast menu. The lack of zzz's was worth it. The truffle porcini butter was spread generously all across the sourdough, along with the mix forest mushroom, and scrambled eggs. Though the eggs were a tad bland, the flavour was immediately enhanced with a sprinkle of additional salt and pepper.

This set comes with a serving of ayam ponteh, rice with achar on the side, and a choice of coffee/ tea or calamansi.

The sauce was full of flavour and so so good. I could not help drenching my rice in this rich gravy. The portion was huge too, and we had a chicken drumstick and chicken thigh in our serving, along with a piece of potato. The chicken itself was very tender and it absorbed a lot of the flavour of the sauce. A definitely satisfying meal that is value-for-money.

This set comes with a serving of glutinous rice, a side of kueh or ondeh-ondeh, and a cup of coffee or tea.

The glutinous rice had a delightful consistency and was equal parts sticky and chewy. It was well-seasoned and tasted both sweet and savoury. The soft peanuts added some textural contrast and went well with the rice. The chilli on the side was a great accompaniment to add heat.

The assorted kueh were delicious and soft, and full of coconut flavour. My personal favourite of the 4 was the kueh sago, which had bits of shredded coconut in between the sago layers.

The portion may look small but it is definitely filling.

The bowl consists of a combination of beef and teriyaki chicken on top of a bed of fluffy japanese rice. The beef slices were tender and had a sweet-savoury flavour. The chicken was an interesting version of teriyaki chicken as it appeared to be deep-fried rather than grilled. It was equally tender as the beef and tasted similar to charsiew as it had a slight char. The accompanying mushrooms were cooked in a sweet vinegary sauce that added a nice tang to the rest of the dish. The bowl was completed with half a boiled egg and a side of miso soup. Overall, a delicious dish that is value-for-money.

Steamed soft fluffy chinese buns, stuffed with shredded cucumber and carrots, along with savoury salty yet tender moist, shredded duck confit and pulled roasted duck meat. Must order!

There were little chunks of raw salmon, tuna and white fish on top of the lightly tangy rice. There is also a scattering of salmon roe and cucumber which added some texture to the bite.

The fish is marinated in shoyu, which is supposed to impart umami. Less Japanese soya sauce would be preferable to better appreciate the flavour of the fish.

The ratio of fish to rice was less than satisfying although as far as convenient chirashi bowls go, this is pretty good.

The glutinous rice had a thick consistency and was not overly sweet. The rice grains were firmer than usual, which would suit those who prefer to have more texture in their glutinous rice. It was fragrant and enjoyable, but we were hoping it would be served hotter as it was only lukewarm.

Unfortunately, the coconut ice cream was underwhelming as you could barely detect any coconut flavour. However, this would still be a decent choice for diners who are not a fan of their signature durian desserts.

The durian mousse caught me by surprise, as it was more like a durian ice blend than the typical mousse consistency one might expect - however, it was very refreshing in the afternoon heat. Highly recommended to top up the additional $1 for the double shot of durian flesh, which was rich and creamy with a bittersweet flavour characteristic of quality durian. I may have gotten a sore throat afterwards, but no regrets.

The ravioli came in a terragon prawn bisque sauce, which to me tasted like a slightly briny version of thick tomato sauce. The ‘fishy’ flavour of the sauce was not overpowering and is unlikely to be off-putting to those who are not fans of seafood. The ravioli itself was filled with a mixture of lobster and cheese and served al dente. While it was not particularly flavourful on its own, it went really well with the delicious sauce.

This pizza comes with a creamy white sauce base and tender pieces of chicken. It had a decent truffle flavour too, which complemented the other components of the pizza well. The crust of the pizza was particularly enjoyable, as it was very flavourful on its own with a chewy texture, and had some added crispness from the burnt bits.

This was bomb. Bomb because we didn't expect this to be the crowd's favourite. Quite an innovative take on sweet potato fries that actually worked well; crisp sweet potatoes that are naturally sweet and earthy that matches well with the umami flavour that Mentaiko is known for.

Reminded me of army stew and this was enjoyable. I probably took a little too much soup from my friend who was having this as her main. It went really well with my bibimbap. Nothing beats rice with soup!
