Prices are slightly higher than the usual tau fu fa (RM2.70), but you are paying for what you get here at this stall in front of 99 Speedmart (near the morning market). So smooth and tastes dense of soy! If you're a fan of soy, this will definitely be your next love.
Smelt really good when served, came in a gigantic bowl btw could fit a whole durian. Shredded cucumbers for a touch of vegetables and colour. Crackers tasted really bad. Fried rice like any other fried rice but with durian paste/sauce in the middle. Gives a special flavour to the fried rice, something I've never tried before. Good for people who like to try new things, but I wouldn't order it again because I don't find that there's anything to shout about in this dish. RM13.90 if I'm not mistaken, a ok-ok price for the environment and (probably flavoured) durian sauce.
It was a tea time set, RM15.90 for a slice of cake of the day and add RM5 for a choice of tea/coffee. There were two choices for the cake, so I went with this Kahlua Chocolate cake. Tasted like any other cheesecake, chocolate ganache attracted ants (yes, ants) to the coffee table, such a mild kahlua taste you had to close your eyes to picture it. Not a complete let down, but I won't be coming here again.
All the food came quick and steaming warm, they tasted good and flavourful, especially the soup, boiled for hours. We had double boiled pig tail with peanut soup ่ฑ็่ฑฌๅฐพๆนฏ (RM7.50) and double boiled chicken soup with chinese herbs ๅๅฅ็่ฒ่็ จ้ฆฌไพ้ๆนฏ (RM9.80), which had ample of herbs and meat falling apart from the long boiling hours. We also had asam vegetables in claypot ไบไธ็ ฒไป่ (RM10) and signature homemade tofu (RM12/6pcs). I'd recommend families to come here especially when it's chilly for a good warm meal with an affordable price.
้ฌ่ธ้ๆดฒ้ญ Steamed Tilapia with special sauce (RM38)
The fish was big for a good price, definitely worth it. The sauce is also house-made, special with sambal sauce too. Personally, it was a bit too oily for my liking, but still okay for an occasional dish.
Pictured:
๐ท braised pork with yam ่้ ญๆฃ่ (RM26/medium) for a quality decent serving, yams were perfectly soft but not mushy and meat was well done and fall-apart texture
๐ long bean and eggplants ่ฑ่ง่ๅญ่ฆ็ฑณ (RM15/medium) for plenty of dried shrimps but I personally think it's too oily
๐ฒ homemade yong tau fu (RM1.50/stuffed tofu) my favourite dish of the meal, the tofu is just one of a kind type of delicious
ๅง่้พ่บ้ญ็ (RM28 per 100g) The bosslady recommended this dish because their fish was on promotion. They were very generous with the ginger mince and the fried garlic pieces, which improved the texture. The fish was slightly overcooked according to my family but they still considered it good since the estuary garupa fish isn't easy to cook.
We went in here because my mum was looking for an old friend who owned this restaurant (but didn't manage to because he owned the other one named ็ฆ่จ so pls contact if you know). Pictured: S ่ฒดๅฆ่่ไป (RM20) M ็่ฎ่ (RM20) M ้่ฑ่ (RM22) The tofu especially tasted good, they even make white tofu flavourful but not exceptionally salty and the ๆ็่ฑ่ was crispy but not oily, with just the right amount of flavour.
Complementary and they've been serving this since the start!
According to mum, they've been famous for their sambal since the 80s/90s when they were still operating under a big tree. The petais are big and they do not skimp on the serving. RM20
Homemade tofu with an eggy taste. RM18
Served in a melon shell with big melon balls ๐ The sauce is sweet and goes perfect with rice! (RM24)
