Honestly this is one of the worst steamboat I’ve eaten. Even those at bugis liang seah street are way better. I’m not sure why there are so many positive review for them.
Firstly, the utensils and cutlery were basically dirty. You can still see the stain on the bowls. After we wiped, we could see the red water stain marks on the tissue. Freaking disgusting. The whole shop was manned by China Chinese (no offense but you can gauge the hygiene standard). But we already sat inside and ordered, so bo bian lor.
Food selection was very limited. XLB was not available unlike what they advertised. The quality of food was also bad, pig intestine tested weird (definitely didn’t clean properly), pork liver tasted weird (like not fresh). Tomato soup is simply thick ketchup soup, not worth the additional $3 paid.
The staff was not attentive either. Ice cream out of the 6 tubs placed, 3 tubs were empty. Will never return even if there is promotion.
Long overdue post! This is one of the better charashi don I had. It seems like the price increased and quantity shrunk compared to a year back (probably they got more popular). They were hosting a large group beside us so the food served rather slow and ambience was too noisy. Can’t seem to find a reason to return again.
Premium Chirashi Don has quite a generous portion of chunky seasoned sashimi like tuna, salmon, octopus, ikura and a medium size prawn. All valued at $20. Sushi rice was a little too sticky, and not quite season. Can definitely be better.
Salmon Sashimi Don was priced at $12, with good amount of sashimi slices. The salmon sushi was prepared in 3 different ways - Sashimi, torched and another was supposed to have mentaiko (but removed as friend is allergic to mayo). This was good too! Sadly scallop mentaiko was sold out otherwise would have order to try.
This is really nice and valuable for money!
It's great to have friends to share triple flavored ice cream when u can't decide which individual ice cream you want. Recommend the classic rich matcha and Hokkaido milk soft serve! Roasty Houjicha ice cream is too heavy for me. It's topped with azuki beans, rice crisp, shiratama and jap biscuit. Yums!
Best and Recommended Dish: Bara Chirashi Don filled with generous portion of seasoned sashimi cubes at an affordable price of $13.80. Comes with a bowl of miso soup too! Yums!
Kushi Mori, a mixed skewer platter of 10 sticks for sharing with friends. Includes mushroom, chicken yakitori, smoked duck cubes, beef cubes, quail eggs, bacon with oysters and bacon with cherry tomatoes at only $19.80.
Next must try is their delectable spicy salmon maki at $12.80 for 8 pcs. Crispy ebi wrapped with sushi rice and topped with spicy mentaiko sauce salmon sashimi.
Each pax paid about $25.
The food are in relatively big portion. My friend enjoyed the megaburger which is a quadruple stack. All about the bass aka fish and chip was a little out of taste. Apple Sauce Chop is good but meat was tough. Average for the price. Damage was about $100+.
I am cafe is a muslim owned cafe with food supplied by Muslim supplier source. So rest assured my muslim friends, this place is safe for your diet. I am finally trying their mains other than the infamous tall rainbow cake / crepe and red velvet cakes. Burgers seem to be their specialty. The big bear burger with thick beef patty and runny eggs are worth your calories. Pastas are well cooked but a little oily. Healthier option? Try the Cajun Chicken Aglio Olio. Chic N Turf Pizza is big and thin enough for all 5 of us to share. The butter knife provided made it hard for us to cut the pizza to smaller portion. No service charge here as minimal service available. But the staff are so friendly here. It was raining and they help to usher customers across the lane after payment. Remember to tip them for their Amsterdam trip. I hope the staff can go soon! I've been seeing it for a couple of years.
This is the first time patronizing this cafe. I'm captivated by the dainty floral arrangements in the cafe when I first stepped in. At first glance, you may think this is a florist shop. Other than selling flowers, they do serve great coffee and Gryphon tea with cakes. You will be surprise with the floral range of cakes (e.g. rose blossom, earl grey lavender, strawberry shortcake). I would recommend the Earl Grey Lavender Cake going along with Nymph of Neil tea. But make sure you don't eat too much lavender flower found on the cake, otherwise you may be overpowered by the gusty floral taste (or mistaken as eating a bar of floral soap). We sat at the second level of the cafe. The pretty Christmassy floral and the Christmas background music totally brought us to the mood for Christmas! The natural floral scent effused by the flowers around was gentle and calming. The whole environment setting was so comfy that we could sit in all day long. I will most probably come by on one of the lazy Sunday with my colouring book and sit there all day long. It's therapeutic for the husk and stressful life. This cafe do sell some flowers for you to bring home for decor. A mini bouquet of lavender is $2. Great to place in a glass vase for home decor.
Authentic Korean Andong Braised Chicken! Love the sauce. The ingredient portion are just nice but would love more sweet potato stick noodles. The chicken is boneless, so much easy to easy. The seafood pancakes are crispy and tasty. Worth the try! The pickled radish complement the dish and weaken the greasy taste. The queue during dinner time is long. As the store is small, the seating capacity is very limited. Will visit again!
Finally a korean fast food chain selling more than fried chicken has arrived in SG! Love the Jjajangmyeon! It's suitable for vegetarian, just short of pickled radish! The jjampong has quite a lot of seafood and doesn't taste very spicy! You can order the 2-in-1 set where by you get to taste both. Bibimbap is quite lacking. In terms of the rice texture, taste and ingredients. Don't recommend. The Korean chicken has 3 types of flavors - Soy Garlic and Spicy or Mixed. Both flavours are just tuned to my liking. Not too glazed with too much sauce. Tteokbokki fries worth the try. Seafood mandoos are awesome! Try the Sikhye rice drink. It's not so sweet as compared than those I tried in Korea. Just nice for Singaporean taste. This place is packed with people. Seats may be challenging to find during dinner timing. Overall: Good experience!
Saw this good deal on Qoo10 @ $13.90 (usually $16.90 on Qoo10, and pasta alone is about $12.90). Full set comes with choice of Pasta in Jar, choice of Mud Tart Dessert and Wide Selection of Drinks! So worth it! Yum yum! Tried the signature Bulbous Oriental Spaghetti! They used angel hair spaghetti which is thinner than normal spaghetti! My favorite! It's hard to find in pasta restaurant. Pasta was al dente, ideal consistency and just flavoured enough. The fish roe have some crunch and smoked duck enriched the taste of the dish! Pasta in jar was a little difficult to scoop out to eat. But love the concept! Recommend all to close the jar and give it some shake to mix everything together. The flower pot mud tart was interesting! Chose the regular flavour - Matcha! The matcha is very rich and fudgy. It does complement well with the Oreo! Suggest to share with friends as it may get a little too sweet.
Arrived with my colleagues for our workplan discussion. Settled our lunch and tea break here. One of our colleagues was a vegetarian and was able to find good option here too! Most of my colleagues ordered burgers and were pretty price worthy. Sweet potatoes fries were crispy and good too! Lab Chick was a healthier option. Basically baguette with chicken caesar salad. The baguette was hard to cut as the crispy crust will just fly all over you. But taste wise still reasonable. The cakes were awesome. We recommend the chocolate fudge cake. Sea salt lava cake was not heated but has a fudgy texture and taste. No lava. So we do not really recommend. Try the solero milkshake! Positively surprising! The taste is exactly similar to the solero ice cream. Do not sit near the side door as the door is always opened by the staff to go out to smoke. Magnetic door was no longer "sticky" hence door does not close properly. The warm air coming in is an annoyance. All in all, we will return!
