$7 @ Famous Kitchen which recently relocated to Nee Soon Rd
At Mahota Commune, there are 2 eateries - a farm to table restaurant that's sells food at a premium pricing because its supposedly healthy food, and a cafe that can't decide what it wants to be. Mahota Commune is a dead town in itself, and with poor service and management, its easy to see why.
BUT there is 1 hidden gem, a newly popped up steamed dishes kitchen carved out in the cafe. Steamed rice sets are around $6+, which is ok since the portion and taste is great!
First time eating chicken rice burger. Always thought someone should make this...closest Ive tried was Mos Burger. Almost wanted to make it myself, but finally now there's Hawker QSR! Any idea what's QSR stand for?
Chicken rice burger verdict:
For a kuey png lover, it sounds much better than it tastes. Doesnt tastes bad, just thinking why do I need chicken rice burger when there is real good chicken rice. Maybe its for tourists...
Also, tourist pricing! Costs about $9, too expensive for chicken rice dish and too expensive for what's touted as fast food.
Still, worth 1 try! Good thing is its on food panda and also opens till midnight at esplanade :)
Orgo is a beautiful rooftop hidden bar and restaurant known for 'organic chemistry'. Their food menu is sufficient (their cocktails and drinks menu is more extensive) and includes the 2 mains seen here (due to dark ambience my phone camera doesnt do the food justice), with special for the night Wagyu Beef w mushroom and wedges ($48) and Cod Fish with Green Curry ($40).
The beef was wayyyyy more value for money than the cod fish!
Highly recommend for date night!!! <3
Orgo is a beautiful rooftop hidden bar and restaurant known for 'organic chemistry'. They have many unique cocktails including chilli padi watermelon martini. Their food menu is sufficient and includes starters seen here - Hummus Pockets, with chickpeas, garlic, beets, jalapeño and of course pita bread ($14).
Highly recommend for date night!
Earlier the mains were average, but dessert...delightful! As with all churros, could do with wayyy more chocolate, but the pecan pie was really generously nutty and paired w interesting tequila ice cream (cant taste the tequila but the ice cream went really well tgt w the nuts).
Pricey, but I guess that's cost of prime location (chijmes) and cute decor (colourful table and chairs at the alfresco side).
Must use entertainer app!
Very average tacos, the Spanish pig was not crackling enough and the tacos were...stale
The angus beef burrito though, marvelous! Could not fit in my mouth no matter how I tried, had to use knife and fork...but very good blend of rice, beans and beef.

Noodles were just slightly more clumpy and sticky/wet than the way I like it...but at $3.50 for roast duck noodles, good value!
$5 for takeaway roast meat and steamed chicken rice from kopitiam opposite 1855 at 6th Avenue
Good tatse, no frills, solid portion
Because it is hamburger steak beef bolognaise pasta burger! Omg...I like to try new things so when I glimpsed at this new offering by Mos Burger I didn't think twice.
-Tastes simple in a good way
-not all noodle/ramen/pasta burgers work, but this turns out decent
-very slightly challenging to eat, especially takeaway, might need a fork or spoon to finish everything. If you are fine w missing out some minced beef or slight messiness, then no worries
-value for money enough, especially with fast food in Singapore increasingly becoming almost premium food
The magic of Song Kee has been repackaged into FAST FOOD at The Star Vista!
Unfortunately it wasn't fast (teething problems since its a new business) and the famous shiok fish dumplings (on its own, without noodles) dry version was not on the menu.
Slightly overpriced and slightly above average fishball noodles...I'll still go back to the original anytime!
Saw the set up of the stall, the master prepping each bowl of noodles and the patrons eating ba chor mee and I was sold!
Unfortunately, the $4.50 bowl looked great but tasted less than great. Soup was bland, noodles and liao were sufficient but lacking the zest of a great bowl of noodles that one would return for.
