Minestrone ($16) This was alright, nothing to fault but also nothing outstanding. Was chock full of ingredients and tasted quite clean but not bland.

Bread and Vinegar to start Their bread was also p nice! I think it was a tomato focaccia. Crisp but not dry, and a subtle tomato flavour And the vinegar!!!! Was soooo goood I was rly tempted to have more bread just to inhale more vinegar - it was thick and sticky with a beautiful flavour. Aged balsamic really hits different and I’m here for it.

Seasonal Special - Cod ($78) Quite possibly one of the most memorable fish dishes I’ve had of late. The cod was so meaty and firm yet tender, with a mildly creamy taste. It was lightly breaded such that it didn’t taste like a fried fish / greasy, with the moisture all locked in. I’m not sure what sauce it was, but it wasn’t very strong so it allowed the fish to shine. The mash potatoes were really creamy and smooth like a purée, was flavourful and not overly butter. Carrots were sweet, and beneath the fish lay a bed of mushrooms and spinach. TLDR: Was an excellent dish! Definitely formed a good impression of the restaurant and will come back to try other items if I feel like splurging~

Yakitori Salmon ($24) Kinda ex for salmon and rice, but the coconut rice was really fragrant and the Vietnamese caramel drizzled over the rice was interesting. Might skip this next time tho as it's not the most value-for-money imo!

Crabcake Egg Benedict $22 Nosh is the perfect hideout among lush greenery both on the outside and it's interior wallpapers. Rustic chill accompanied by food that lives up to its good looks makes for a return visit. If not for the humidity and heat, you may actually forget you're in singapore 😅

What's for lunch? Throwback to our hearty brunch at this idyllic restaurant as we dig in the comforting Shakshouka, or nibble on small bites like Garlic Fries and Chicken Karaage.

Claypot Crab Vermicelli Soup Haven't been to Mellben in a really long time and I miss having Mellben’s crab done in its signature way. The milky broth is thick, rich, creamy and beamed with sweetness from the crab. The crab was fresh and succulently sweet with chunks of meat coming off cleanly.

Shrimp Roll Wrapped in crispy beancurd skin with generous fillings of prawns, pork and together with a crunch of chestnuts 》$10 (Small)

Favourite Chilli Crab Mellben will always be be go-to restaurant for crab. Hands down my favourite. Crab here are always fresh, meaty and the sauce is great. Female crabs are full of roe, but the claws are smaller. Male crabs have bigger and meatier claws. 5% Discount if pay by cash. Please make reservations before coming. Unless u want to queue and wait.

Pince & Pints (Duxton) Truffle Lobster Roll, as the name goes if you love truffle please try this! The sauce was so on point and complemented everything. Price is on the high side but it’s a lovely place for anniversaries or gatherings.

Good tiramisu Tiramisu @ $13++ It's good, but we have had much better. The rum wasn't soaked through in the middle so the taste could have been better. Base sauce was mango and raspberry which didn't really go well with tiramisu.

Good pasta Crab meat linguine @ $28++ We have craving for pizza and decided to come this place which has been on our wishlist for quite a while. Awesome pizza Prosciutto pizza @ $25.50++ Really great pizza! We absolutely love it! The pizza has breadlike base, but they managed to keep it thin with very great texture and the right amount of sauce such that it's not soggy and the base crust is crispy! Prosciutto E Rucola I ordered this Prosciutto E Rucola (S$30.00) through the Oddle Eats platform, and this was one of the more satisfying takeaway pizzas to date. The dough was to my liking: airy and not too dense, with a good balance of crustiness to every bite. It was very nice of them to have packed the arugula and shaved parmigiana separately so that the greens remained raw when served. Apart from the parma ham, another important element was the sauce tub of chilli oil that accompanied the pizza. I’m sure many would agree that one tub was barely enough to go with the pizza, because it could make the already-delicious pizza even more mouth-watering.

Tonnareli Nero 28++ One of the best I've had as of 7/7/21. This tiny portion costs 28++ so savour it slowly but damn the sauce was so full of crab essence. Can only imagine the hours that went into it. Must try! We had pizza and bread so this portion worked for the two of us(anything larger and we wouldn't have finished). Cicheti serves restaurant quality Italian at restaurant prices but at such an ulu place. Their food is fortunately a cut above the rest though so the prices are kind of justified

Chili Oil Off menu. Request for it to go with your pizza. It was uh-mazing. I'm really glad the chili is real, there's quite some heat so it isn't just oil. There's a distinct Asian influence, almost sort of a mild funk to it but the edge is taken away since it's only an infusion. Good to enjoy by dipping the crust in, esp for monsters that usually throw the crust away

Confit De Canard Had a 1 for 1 Confit De Canard. Was surprised that the duck is finished like deep fry but it isn't too oily. The duck is crispy, tender and falls off the bone. The mash is buttery and fragrant. When paired with the sauce it's pretty awesome. Value for money definitely.

😋😋😋 The French Table Chicken Pasta (top) & TFT Finely Roasted Chicken Curry Rice (both $16.80)! Stumbled upon this restaurant in north point where they were having 1 for 1 promotion! I got to try the Japanese Curry Rice with chicken and it's so yummy! The chicken is juicy and tender. For the promotion, It's so worth it!!

Duck Confit Waffle The more decent of the two dishes we tried after a run! Would say it's pretty value for money given the entertainer but wouldn't come back here again, food is so-so & mehhhhhh.

Mid-week dinner w my favorite homs at Babette. In frame is the Duck & Waffle $25, the meat for the duck leg confit was strangely red. And waffle texture was as crispy a biscuit. 😬

Matcha Lava Cake Matcha lava cake ($12.9) with 🍦 and azuki beans :) ! Piping hot matcha flowing out of the 🎂 as you cut it open. Have a 👄 of 🍦 while you're at it! 😋

Pork Ragout Baked Rice The portion is huge actually with generous amount of ingredients inside. You can expect Stewed Pork, Tomato Sauce, Black Olive, Spring Bacon Succotash and Mozzarella Cheese all in one bowl. $12.90

Coq Au Vin ($16.90) Red wine braised chicken with some vegetables and roasted mushrooms. This dish has a rather hearty portion, filled with packs of flavours. It also comes with a choice of mashed potato or baguette as a side, and a bowl of soup.

Classic Foie Gras Pan Fried Foie Gras served on Toasted Brioche, Dried Fruits, Walnuts and Petit Salad at $17.90 So decadent! I enjoyed the slightly crisp edge and the creamy centre of the liver, with the salad serving as a fresh accompaniment 28 Mar 2018
