Fantastic Meat They've got a promotion going on their website itself so I didn't use beyond for this. Skip the Deluxe buffet and go straight for Premium. For 75 per person (inclusive of gst and all), I thought the meal was really worth it. The meats were beautifully marbled and melted in your mouth. We couldn't help but get more orders of both the kurobuta karubi and wagyu karubi. Highly recommend getting their tonkotsu soup for your hotpot too, it's lovely and sweet.

1 For 1 Burpple Beyond This set was $22.90 but with 1 for 1 it was quite reasonable. Honestly, was expecting more quality for the food but it was average at best. The rice did not look like Japanese rice, I think they used jasmine rice instead. However, the unagi was quite good but I’ve tasted better before. I liked the sashimi! However, portions were quite small and the chicken in the chawanmushi was pink and I did not dare to eat it. Overall, it was quite okay, would not go back there again if I were craving Japanese, could probably get cheaper and better quality food elsewhere. Food: 6.5/10

Sourdough Loaf - Field ($9) This was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had! It’s chewy but not till the point of a jaw ache, with a well-balanced flavour. A quick search of ‘firebake’ on my telegram chats would show that “I think firebake’s one is v nice/the best/rly good” 🤪 Pictured is a slice slathered with Tasmanian walnut butter, but I eat it plain as well, because it’s that good. I’m really sad that they have ceased operations, thank you Firebake for the great sourdough! :)

Cheesymite [$4.50] Big, flaky, buttery. Would love for the vegemite adn cheese taste to be more pronounced though.

Rustic Chicken Pie [$12] Pie had chunks of chicken mixed with the vegetables, though the mushroom was kind of lacking. We were quite disappointed upon cutting the pie open as it wasn't nicely filled. It was too salty for our tastes as well. Tbvh - personally, would prefer the old school chicken pie.

Ramen Risotto The ramen risotto looked fabulous but didn’t taste as exceptional as it looks. Umami flavours of the risotto got a bit jelak after a few mouthfuls. The mala pork (starters; not pictured) was lackluster - without its accompanying sauce, the pork is rather bland or “un-marinated”. Service was slow despite <10 customers in the cafe.

Ramen Risotto I really like the softness of their pork belly, topped with savoury bubble. The risotto itself wasn’t really overwhelming in the taste by accompany with seaweed and egg yolk. $24+

Bubbly Yuzu They literally took the bubbly seriously with lots of bubbles on top of the drink. But after clearing the bubbles, you will be greet by beautiful creation of yuzu drink with some flower petals on top. Definitely a refreshing drink for those who just finish their exercise at Kent Ridge Park. $8+

Fish with macadamia crust The fish was fresh and soft, and the crust complimented it really well! Really enjoyed this! We ordered 3 main dishes, and 2 desserts (so we could use a Burpple deal, and it was about $30/person) pretty worth it!

Keto Brownie This legit taste super super good, even on a normal brownie scale. The chocolate was fudgy but not sticky, and it wasn’t too sweet either which went very well with the ice cream! The other items on the menu also looked pretty good and decently priced for a restaurant with a nice ambiance! Would come back again to try their other food!

Plant based Crab pasta Again, taste exactly like crab! Pasta was decent.

coffee this cafe has pretty good vibes. went for some post lunch coffee. tried their iced white, mocha and their special coffee which had coconut in it. interesting price range from about $5-$7 music was abit loud, so it was abit hard for chit chats.

Amazing food Tried the eggs benedict with brioche and added smoked salmon. Was a tad bit pricey but the service was very good. Very chill vibes!

Why Was Six Afraid Of Seven? Because seven eight nine. If you still don’t get that joke, then God bless you. What’s not a joke, however, is Seven & Ate’s food. Styled as a casual burger bar replete with a small selection of craft beers, Seven & Ate offers run of the mill cheeseburgers as well as considerably more adventurous burgers such as the pork & oysters burger ($16++) pictured here. The pork and oysters burger is exactly what it says on the tin: two pork patties are doused in tonkatsu sauce and serve as the seat for the fried oyster fritter. Unfortunately, it’s a lot more batter than oyster in that fritter, and combined with the savoriness of the tonkatsu sauce, the oyster was close to nonexistent. The pork patties aren’t too shabby, actually. Grilled with a nice golden brown crust on the outside, they were acceptably seasoned and went well with the tonkatsu sauce. Seven & Ate’s other burgers definitely looking like the better options, so I’d definitely recommend having any of those instead.

Three Little Pigs Got their signature. It was a really good burger. Overflowing with meat and flavour. The dip for the chips was good as well.

who spilled the jam?! The french toast was really different from the typical ones! The only downside is that I don’t think the bread was fried in eggs? At least that’s what I expect french toast to be. Otherwise, the jam was really good and they were generous when it came to the toppings. Be warned that the place can get really warm and humid!

Sweet Sunday Morning Saw the photos posted by others in Burpple. Told myself “must try”. When the food came, I was still surprised. Very very generous toppings. And the spilt jam... genius. Taste was good too.

Chicken Schnitzel ($18) and Seafood Macaroni & Cheese ($20) I think I have found my favourite place for Mac & Cheese! You know how there’s a delicate balance between a Mac & Cheese that is awesome and one that gets overwhelmingly cloying after every bite? The one here belongs in the former category. I would gladly slurp up the entire bowl by myself ◡̈ The Chicken Schnitzel here was pretty good as well. I like that it wasn’t too dry and that the portion it came in was huge! Would definitely come back again, probably on the weekends, to try the brunch menu here

Ginger Lemonade / Iced Lemon Tea The ginger lemonade is made using actual fresh ginger juice. I like how the zing of fresh ginger plays off that sweet-tart base 》$6 Each

Miso Pork Belly Bowl The miso pork belly bowl comes with homemade pickled cabbage, yakiniku sauce, onsen egg, sesame seed, spring onion and chunky slices of pork belly laid on top. The pork belly was thick and slightly charred to a nice burnt flavour. It was tender and juicy but I couldn’t taste the miso. Dipping it with the yakinuku sauce helps with the flavouring 》$17.90

Chilli Crab Pasta Spaghetti cooked with homemade chilli crab sauce and curry leaves, presented with a crunchy soft shell crab on top. The pasta was al-dente with a chewy bite. The sauce was done with the right amount of sweetness and a tinge of spiciness 》$18.90
