But when we made payment, it turned out that we were informed wrongly. Yet, the cashier on duty did not give us the 1-for-1 as the waitress had initially told us. Extremely disappointed with their lack of graciousness in recognizing their own error

Pork Belly Confit So this dish was prepared by special needs people. The pork belly was extremely good cause the meat was tender and the skin was super crispy! The mash potato was very velvety and soft and it melts in the tongue. The price is very standard for a cafe but i support this cafe cause it really gives these special needs people a chance to work in the society. So thumbs up cause it's worth the try!!!

For Western Fare and Cheery Service in the Northeast Set up by the parents of Joan Bo Wen, a young lady with special needs, this social enterprise in Jalan Wangi (Potong Pasir is the nearest MRT station) trains and imparts kitchen skills to youths with special needs, and the cafe is run almost entirely by its team of young staff with special needs. The menu is pretty basic but the food is beautifully plated, generously portioned and delicious — it can certainly rival any cafe at the same price point! — and the service is cheerful and heartfelt. Out of our several favourites here, we highly recommend the Chilli Crab Pasta ($18), with a sauce that strikes the perfect balance between sweet, spicy and umami, and the delectable Rosemary Lemon Chicken ($12). Pasta Capretto ($18) While the super meaty Chilli Crab Pasta ($18) was my favourite here, this rarer find is worth a try too. We were told that an Italian chef shared the recipe and taught the kitchen staff how to whip this interesting dish up, so you know it's legit. 💪🏼 Capretto translates to the meat of a kid (as in, young goat 🐐) in Italian, but the waitstaff said that they use lamb here (though their menu online says herb-roasted goat meat so... the jury's still out on that). In any case, the chunks of meat were very tender – although a tad gamey, esp if it was really lamb. I particularly liked the rich cheesy sauce (enriched with Parmigiano-Reggiano, methinks) that coated the streamers of tagliatelle was an umami party in the mouth. It can get a little too much after a while, so it's best to share this with someone and get another pasta/main to share. 🍝

Garlic fried rice ($11.90) Nicely flavoured garlic fried rice, huge portion. No 7% gst. The female stuff who served us was super friendly & welcoming! Will be back! 💯

Garlic Fried Rice Had the unagi don, and garlic fried rice using the burpple beyond deal, super worth it. The yakitori tho was kinda dry. So would recommend the dons more.

For 1-for-1 5 Kind of Yakitori (save ~$20) When it comes to finding the purest taste of grilled chicken, there is no better version to try other than Japanese Yakitori. Here at Hinode Sake Bar & Grill, their classic Yakitori dishes mean serious business. Handmade and grilled to perfection, you can go with their great-tasting skewers known for their unique textue and flavours, including Tsukune Meatballs ($7), Hokkaido Hotate ($8.90), Wagyu Ponzu ($12.90) and many more!

Burratina Orriechiete Delicious! Portions were good (not too large). I really appreciate their service staff. For this pasta 1-1, we also tried Carbona - it was very creamy and delicious, nice bacon. Easy to make reservations through Burrple/Chope.

Pizza Pancetta E Jalapeno $30++ My favourite pizza because I absolutely love anything with bacon and cheese! What’s even better was the white cream sauce they use instead of tomato sauce as the base sauce for the pizza, which gave the pizza the creamy and cheesy boost on top of the cheese toppings and made the whole pizza so flavourful with the bacon and the chewy pizza crust.

Ordered the platter which comprise of the Schweinshaxe, Sausages, Schnitzel, Roasted chicken, Sauerkraut & Mashed Potato. Also ordered a salad and french fries as one of them is a vegetarian for the day. Crispy Skin Pork Knuckles a.k.a Schweinshaxe This beloved traditional dish from Germany is highly regarded by many meat lovers. The restaurant tries to replicate the taste and texture of the traditional pork knuckle served from a Bavarian restaurant. I would say the pork knuckle was quite well cooked, with a crispy and flavorful skin but I at least expect to find tender and succulent meat beneath it. Nevertheless, the portion size was generous, making it a hearty meal worthy of at least 2 adults. This dish was served with the traditional sides like sauerkraut and mash potatoes, they were fine but I expected a little more. Overall, the ambience of the environment made up for the overall experience. There is room for potential. If you are someone looking to experience German culinary pork knuckles is always recommended.

Best Cheesecake Ever The cheesecake really lives up to their name. It tastes amazing. One of the best cheesecake I have ever had. I also had their burpple 1-for-1 ribeye. It was a great deal and the ribeye had a unique Chao Ta taste

1-1 Ribeye Love the ambience! Very cosy lighting and pet friendly. Service is good too. Redeemed the 1-1 on Ribeye ($37.50) and had Chaota Wings ($8). Ribeye was ok, but not worth if there is no deal. Wings is recommended, very crispy.

Chicken ala Carbonara Diced chicken cooked in creamy parmesan sauce. Pasta was al dente and chicken was juicy. Overal taste good, suitable for kids too. Do take note that portion is quite big.

Squid Ink Pasta Squid ink curry pasta looks decent but delicious! May not see any chilli but it is very spicy. Nevertheless you can still taste the squid ink eventhough it is spicy. Damn good, highly recommended. Quite big portion.

Oven Baked Bone Marrow Bone marrow topped with caviar and garlic bread by the side. First time trying the caviar was a little salty. But great combination of eating the garlic bread with bone marrow.

Coolest edible cocktails Capitol isn’t just a place to eat and drink—it’s a whole vibe. The fusion cocktails are super creative, with concepts I’ve honestly never seen anywhere else. I had the Summer Fling, which was wild—in the best way. It starts off as an “edible” icy cocktail and slowly melts into a drinkable one. The textures were really fun, and the taste was light, refreshing, and just right. It’s inspired by a Taiwanese iced jelly dessert, and it totally nails that cool, nostalgic feel. Plus, the dry ice smoke and plating made it look amazing. Service was great too—our waiter explained the menu really well, especially all the unique cocktails (which made it even harder to pick just one). Definitely coming back to try more. If you’re into fun, out-of-the-box drinks and a full-on dining experience, this place is a must.

Dinner at Hopscotch 🍝🍽️ I had an amazing dining experience here! Both the mains and cocktail menus were incredibly extensive —we were truly spoiled for choice. The cocktail selection, in particular, stood out with its creative and unique themes. My friend and I decided to go for the 'edible cocktails,' which were as delightful in flavor as they were visually stunning. For mains, we opted for the truffle linguine and the black garlic ribeye steak. The truffle linguine was rich and perfectly balanced, with the earthy aroma of truffle and generous portion of bonito flakes elevating every bite. The black garlic ribeye steak was incredibly tender and packed with umami flavor, complemented by mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. We really enjoyed both dishes, and the portion sizes were impressively generous - definitely great value for money! If you're looking for a dinner spot with good food, creative drinks, and a convenient location at a reasonable price, I'd highly recommend Hopscotch!! :)

Romantic and Memorable BARRAMUNDI FISH AND CHIPS - The batter was well-seasoned, providing a flavorful crunch, and the fish was thick and tender. Served with sambal tartar sauce, it adds a kick to the dish, elevating the flavors. HEARTLAND SIGNATURE - A unique blend of flavors, complemented by a quarter slice of pandan waffle and sweet kaya foam. The drink has a rich sweetness from the gula melaka, while the rum’s presence is distinct. The pandan waffle has a cake-like texture, compared to the usual crispy and fluffy waffle.

Cajun Chicken Aglio Olio ($14.90) If you're looking for a Muslim-establishment that serves up decent pasta, I am... cafe has got your back! One of the OG cafes in the area, I am... serves up simple, yet hearty dishes, ranging from pastas, to burgers and many more! With #BurppleBeyond, we were only able to select from the pasta section & went for the Cajun Chicken Aglio Olio. This dish packed a punch with their Cajun seasoning but did not overpower the entire dish. The spaghetti was lightly tossed in olive oil, and topped with a grilled Cajun chicken-a simple yet tough dish to master.

Penne Pesto Pasta ($15.90) Located at the entrance (from North Bridge Road) of Haji Lane, I am... cafe can be easily spotted from afar with it's large signage and Alfresco-like dining space. As a Muslim-owned establishment, their dishes are made accessible to more cafe-goers who enjoys visiting this area! An early lunch meant that we could grab a seat at this popular cafe and we ordered the Penne Pesto Pasta ($15.90). It comes with perfectly booked penne served with a large portion of grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and pesto herbs. The chicken was pre-shredded, but still retained some moisture to ensure that it's tender. The pesto was well-balanced without being too salty and the sun-dried tomatoes added a nice sour tang to the dish. Overall, a satisfying dish to re-order when I visit! Thankfully with #BurppleBeyond, we got this at 1 for 1, so my pasta was half the price, definitely worth it!

Good For Groups! Pastas and Burgers all taste super good! I recommend Cajun Chicken and Chicken pesto if you're getting the 1-for-1deal. They have several seating for groups of 4-6.
