Was planning to go Jalan Besar market eat my fav ice kacang but was stun when saw them under renovation.
So try my luck at the laksa which is also my fav. But turn away when I that Long queue even at 3pm!!! Just not my day...
Then remember that there’s a CKT nearby. Turn on Bubble and search. Bingo! Fu ji! It’s very nearby.
Only two ppl order before me so the wait is damn fast. To be frank, I feel not enough black sauce, not enough wok hei. But their version is much more dry compare to many. Which may makes U feel less sinful?! Haha
Can taste that it’s really not too bad but if I were to order next time would ask for more black sauce.
It’s my fav place for CKT!
It’s more moist than most but not till wet like 老夫子(old airport road).
Every bit of noodle and kway Teow is cover with the black sauce as well as the pork lard. Which makes every mouth so tasteful. It may be moist but still pack with wok hei, which requires great skill.
Have been having it’s since schooling days. Still my fav!
Went on a Sunday, birthday treat by a group of friends. Char Siew is blackish in colour and not red as we normally know. Very very fatty, which is why the meat is so soft and tender. I would say 40-50% per slice is fats. Oh my. But very tasty char Siew, taste very Hong Kong style. Soy chicken got some sour taste like lime. Very funny taste, maybe I'm not used to it. Salted egg York pork ribs is good. But the rest is well, as they call themselves. Zi char standard. Nothing to shout about. And it's very high class and expensive Zi char. Haha.
This is what I call ice kacang. The ice is so fine that it just melts in ur mouth, the syrup is not too sweet that it taste artificial. Best part is they pour a lot of condensed milk on top. Red bean is soft and not too sweet. Too bad only chin chow is given, no chai yan. But well can't complain much for $2. Now a days many desert stall, just the ice alone cannot make it. Feels like eating little ice cube... Highly recommend trying honeydew and mango with strawberry ice kacang.
Cheap and good wanton mee. The noodle is very well made and cook to prefection. Just the right texture and chewy. The chili is nice with go with not too strong. Surprise that their cha shao is not too bad. Not too dry and with little bits of fats to go along. The best part is the free flow of crackling(lard), they are so crispy!
The basmati rice is nicely done and not oily. Nice to go along with the mutton gravy. But I feel it's a bit too sour to my likely. The curry sauce they serve is a good mix. The mutton is a bit hard, not soft enough. Not easy to find mutton bone brani in SG. One surprise find is their chili chicken. Very aromatic and spicy. Must try!
