Tiramisu flavour was good but cheesecake texture was not our favourite. We prefer a denser texture for our cheesecake but they might have made it lighter to pair well with the fluffy tiramisu/coffee-flavoured sponge.

We saw a few tables ordered this and it looked soooo good so we bought one for ourselves too. Love the addition of cream cheese! It made the bread a lot more creamy in general. But with that said, it can get v gelak if you’re having this by yourself so be sure to share. You can choose to heat up if you’re dining in, which is highly recommended :)

I think the milkshake was our fav food item from Five Guys! We went with double servings of Oreo and one serving of vanilla and we got a really enjoyable Oreo milkshake :) it was the right amount of sweetness and the vanilla flavour further enhanced the drink. $10 is a bit pricey for a regular-sized drink but it was a really good shake so we didn’t mind it.

The cashier recommended for the both of us to go with the regular size as it’s meant for 2 pax but man... we barely finished half. I’d say downsize your fries because the burger is quite substantial already. Cajun spice was a bit too overwhelming for us too, they were too generous with the powder which makes the fries really dry.

First time trying Five Guys which has been highly raved and often compared to the other popular burger joints like Shake Shack. Went with a little cheeseburger and chose the following toppings: lettuce, grilled onions, onions, grilled mushrooms, and A1 sauce.

The little size was just nice for us because the original size would mean that the burger will come with double beef patties. Toppings are unlimited but they would recommend you to go with a maximum of 5 if not they’ll start overflowing. If I can reorder, I’d do away with the A1 sauce as it was a tad bit too sour for my liking. Maybe BBQ sauce would have been a safer choice. Burger wise, it was quite satisfying and the beef patty was v well done. They’re v generous with the toppings and I notice that they slice up their toppings (instead of giving you one huge slice of lettuce or long strips of raw onions which might make it harder to chew). Overall, good experience! And definitely more worth it than Shake Shack if we’re comparing.

This bowl of ramen came with wholegrain ramen noodles, thin slices of cha shu that came with bits of fats which made it a lot yummier, and lots of other crunch bits like tomato and radish cubes. I’d like to think that the charcoal flavour added more flavour to the tonkotsu soup. The use of wholegrain noodles is quite smart because that means that the noodles won’t turn soggy despite being in the soup for some time.

Genzo has a small cafe hosted within it named Sho and so it made for a good post-dinner dessert :-)

Serving size turned out to be smaller than the photos shown but taste wise was pretty alright! Their coffee is v strong and fragrant :)

This was a very confusing experience. The first time they served us our truffle fries, they came really cold. It wasn’t even warm, just straight out cold, and oily + soggy (feels like it’s been left out in the kitchen for a long time before they brought it to us)

So we requested for a change which they kindly agreed to and thankfully the refried truffle fries were a lot nicer. This time round it was piping hot so the fries weren’t oily and soggy. Good amount of truffle oil!

Not gonna lie, this looked way more appetizing in the photos shown 🤣 but the addition of spicy mayo indeed made the whole bowl more yums :) was deciding between the regular salmon don and this spicy option, am glad I went for this!

They were quite generous with the salmon sashimi strips and ingredients are pretty fresh.

Located in River Valley Road which is 15-20 mins walk from Somerset MRT, Genzo has a rly nice ambience. It’s situated by a poolside and the space is pretty spacious. Having that said, it took us some time to navigate ourselves as it’s quite a distance away from the nearest MRT station.

This came with mixed sashimi cubes with bits of tamago cubes, cucumber for a refreshing crunch, some tobiko and shoyu sauce for topping.

Taste wise, this was quite alright. We thought it was quite decent but we all agreed that we had better chirashi bowls. The good thing about this is that it’s quite value for money! Ingredients are fresh as well :)

They have two different crusts for their tarts – the flaky crust and this buttery cookie skin one! This was ok, custard filling was smooth and indeed not too sweet but we felt that the butter cookie crust was not fragrant enough.

The first time we tried their polo bun, we went for the original (without butter). It was very dry and the whole experience was v underwhelming (we might have hyped ourselves up because of the long queue at their Causeway Point outlet).

So we decided to give it another try and this time round we went for the one with butter – I mean that’s the traditional way right? It was equally disappointing. The additional butter slab was v oily and did not go well with the bread’s dry texture :(
