Quite rare to find good HK-styled chee cheong fun in our area so I’m glad we have this gem in MMHC! It’s $2.50 per strip (there are two strips here in the photo) and they have different flavours: char siew, prawn, mushroom, floss and a few more others!

Worth a try. Sauce is v flavourful and every CCF order is freshly made upon order :)

Second visit at Daehwa as I was craving for some vegetarian Korean food! You can trust Daehwa for yummy Korean food that taste just like the original non-vegetarian versions :)

Army stew was a bit costly as it was recommended for 2 pax ($42) but it came with a lot of ingredients! Instant noodles, enoki mushroom, Chinese mushroom, sweet potato noodles, vegetarian hotdogs and luncheon meat, tofu, kimchi, and a slice of cheese. Flavour was on point 💯 and we were definitely v full by the end! Our order also came with free flow banchan and 2 bowls of brown rice.

Diff spice levels you can choose from and this was 中辣! Soup wise, it’s definitely soupier and more watery as compared to the tomato soup base we had. Spice level just right and v palatable. Ingredients were a bit expensive as this bowl amounted to $16+ for just one pax... and they were all vegetarian (no meat)!

The first time I tried the mala tang from Gong Yuan, I remember it was very affordable and overall I had a positive experience. This time round, I was v surprised to know that 2 bowls (for 3 of us who weren’t feeling v hungry) cost $33++ but ok I trust that the ingredients we took were heavier 🥲 regardless of the type of ingredients you pick (meat or vegetable), they’re priced the same! So be sure to avoid the heavier ingredients I guess.

Soup wise, it was v thick... almost too thick to be called soup. It was more like tomato sauce gravy instead. Flavour was ok but wished it was soupier so it’d be easier to eat. Not sure why the ingredients were v soft and soggy too.

We visited the shop at around 830pm on a Friday night. There was a short queue forming (we were 2nd in line) and the tables were all full. No staff came to us so ok we thought we could just stay in line and wait for the others to finish up their food. When we were next in line, one of the staff came up to us and said that their tables are all full and it’d be hard for us to get a table given how long it’ll take for the kitchen to cook + for the customers to finish etc. She offered for us to sit in the adjacent store as they were under the same management. Of course we took that choice since that’d mean we can get our food earlier! Only wished she told us that earlier, instead of making us wait in line. Once we were seated down, she rushed over and told us that their last order is 9pm. It was already 855pm.. and again, wished we were informed earlier so we wouldn’t have to rush to get the ingredients etc. Overall, it was not really a good experience as the staff didn’t seem well-equipped to handle such common situations. Food was below expectations so don’t think I’ll visit again :(

The cafe also offers quite a variety of side dishes/appetisers like tater tots, fries, chicken karage, and mozzarella sticks! V reasonably priced given the size of this dish :) maybe next time will try the truffle flavoured tater tots as I felt that this was a bit plain.

Part of their all-day breakfast selection. Petit Chef ($9.80 not inclusive of GST and service charge) comes with homemade waffles served with cheese sausage, tater tots and choice of egg (sunny side up, scrambled eggs or eggs Benedict).

Food from the cafe was quite decent, and reasonably priced. Only wished that the waffles could be a bit more substantial as it was quite thin and flat 😅

One of my all-time fav oreo cheesecakes! Super creamy but tastes light so it doesn’t feel too surfeiting. There’s a thin layer of chocolate sauce between the oreo cookie and the cheesecake layer so it adds a chocolatey flavour to the whole cake. Only wished that the crust is slightly thicker!

1 for $6 or 2 for $10 from J&C bakery. They have other flavours like the original NY cheesecake flavour too :)

Both are great! Super fragrant and addictive. My fav has got to be the Kopi Siew Dai butter cookies. You get the strong coffee notes and a bit of bitter aftertaste, just the right amount of sweetness too. Texture wise, it’s really in between those that melt-in-your-mouth-kind and hard brittle cookies. Glad we stumbled upon MLB this CNY! Looking forward to try their other products :-)

Oooh this was great! Loved the texture esp the chewy mochi and the flavours went well with one another :-) both the black sesame and yam were super fragrant and didn’t overpower each other, and wasn’t too sweet either.

We wanted the sweet one but the cashier gave us the wrong one so oh wells. I personally prefer salty TSPs to sweet ones and this hit the right notes for me :-) the skin was buttery and flaky, and the filling was salty enough (yknw how some salty TSPs feel like it’s lowkey sweet?) and had the right amount of oil to balance with the grainy texture!

Not sure if I tagged the right location but we bought this from the Yishun branch :-)

炸酱刀削面 $5.80, from Xi’An Handmade Noodles, located in Wisma Atria’s Food Republic

I swear it tastes better than it looks! I snapped this photo before I stirred my noodles and let them be coated with the minced meat sauce hence it’s looking a bit bland 😅 I liked the texture of the 刀削面 :-) and it was freshly prepared right in front of me! Saw the guy shaving long strips of noodles from a wooden block – lmao never knew how 刀削面 were made so I guess I learnt something new today. Sauce was a little too salty for my liking but the noodle texture made up for it. It’s a HUGE bowl though so please do share with someone! Unless you’re having a huge appetite 🤪

I also tried their Signature Xiao Long Bao ($5.30 for 5). It was meh... the baos were juicy but the skin was a bit too thick and the meat filling weren’t the nicest.

Love the generous amount of taro chunks used here!!! I’m a huge fan of anything taro/yam so this drink was really up my alley. Not such a huge fan of fresh milk but it was really refreshing when paired with the taro chunks and bits. It almost feels like you’re having orh nee but everything is blended up and paired with fresh milk. Usually I prefer my BBT to have pearls but I’d totally have Milksha’s taro chunks anytime of the day!
