The matcha version steals the limelight, but my heart goes to their Limited Edition Chocolate Premium Pancakes made with KitKat. It comes stacked with 2 discs of signature premium pancakes in original flavour, where that pleasant egginess really shines through and contrasts nicely with the drizzled, rich Kit Kat chocolate sauce. It is served with a Kit Kat chocolate bar, strawberries, house-made whipped cream and more Kit Kat chocolate sauce.

The Limited Edition Gram Premium Matcha Pancakes—served with a side of Kit Kat Chocolate Soft Serve, finished off with chocolate rasps, Kit Kat matcha chocolate bar, strawberries, and house-made butter and whipped cream—are delightfully fluffy and packed with matcha flavour. Side of deep, chocolaty Kit Kat sauce adds contrast.

Chef Shen Tan is back and she brings her famed twice-steamed Nasi Lemak to new hawker stall OG Lemak at Newton Food Center.

Menu is kept concise at the stall with only 4 sets to choose from. My pick is her her 🌟Beef Rendang set. Tender beef chunks in an ‘ownselfmake’, rich coconut rempah are accompanied by the signature twice-steamed rice—light, fluffy and richly lemak—fried egg, ikan bilis, sambal belachan and a highly appetizing, zesty sambal tumis.

As with every local Shake Shack launch, there’s a limited-time menu—this time, it’s a Roasted Garlic menu inspired by the flavors of a classic New York steakhouse.

On the 🍔Roasted Garlic Mushroom Burger, the subtle garlic mayo seems lost amidst the patty, provolone cheese and sautĂ©ed portobello mushrooms. Crispy fried shallots were a tasty touch, though reminiscent of their previous limited, and very delicious, ShackMeister burger.

In comparison, the 🌟Roasted Garlic Fries fared much better where the garlic flavour of that mildly tangy roasted garlic mayo has room to slowly develop as you crunch down on those crinkle cut fries. I recommend asking for ‘Well done’ if you like them extra crisp.

It’s @EggslutSG’s opening week, so prepare to be eggs-saulted with these fluffy sandwiches on your timeline.

Best of the lot IMHO is their ⭐Fairfax ($12). SO GOOD. Generous and creamy, rich scrambled eggs, layered with caramelised onions, cheddar cheese, a sprinkling of chives and a delicious, mildly spicy sriracha mayo. Stuffed between pillowy, soft-but-not-soggy brioche buns.

Starting with the irresistible sweets from the exquisite ‘Peranakan #AfternoonTea’ spread collab between Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and Candlenut, the world’s first Michelin-starred #Peranakan restaurant.

Every item is a winner. From refined and velvety Kueh Salat that almost melts in the mouth, to the Kueh Bingkah topped with a lovely, caramelised coconut crown sweetened with Gula Melaka, and the local breakfast-in-a-bite of crunchy toast, SCS butter, rich homemade Kaya and a dusting of Lam Yeo coffee powder. And then there’s the decadent buah keluak & valrhona chocolate tart, and an old-school looking cake that presents the comforting embrace of pillowy pandan sponge and wonderfully-balanced lemongrass mousse.

@MiznonSG is best enjoyed with friends who don’t mind sharing, ‘cause you’ll want to get your hands (and maybe faces too) dirty with their hearty, mouth-watering #pitas. Snagging a table can be quite tough as the buzzy spot is almost always bustling—reservations are available for dinner, and we’re told it’s best to come down at 11.30am for an early lunch.

One great option to try is the Abu Kebab. Smokey chunks of lamb and beef meatballs dressed with homemade salsa, pickles, generous drizzles of tahini (so good), green chili, onions, and parsley. Their pitas are specially imported from a bakery in Israel, so you can expect the same experience as their other branches—fragrant and slightly nutty, with a chewy, pillowy texture. #FindNewFood

From 1-Michelin star Restaurant JAG’s Autumn menu: Rutabaga, Carvi (caraway sourced from Savoie region of France), Oyster.
The bivalve lends a briny freshness that matches perfectly to the slight acidity of rutabaga jelly and bitterness of bamboo ash. Addition of rice powder layering comforting, toasty notes into the mix.

Savoie native and chef-owner Jeremy Gillon is a master of assembling flavours and textures in the most ingenious and divinely tasty ways. His menu focuses on the best of seasonal produce, accented with Savoie herbs, will have you exploring and loving new-found flavours.

I haven’t experienced Oktoberfest outside of Singapore, but if it’s anything like what new Brotzeit Group Exec Chef Lorenz Raich serves up on his special Oktoberfest menu (available 15 Sep to 25 Oct 2020), I’m going to leave Munich very happy and satisfied.

His Kalter Schweinsbraten (Cold Roast Pork) is a most definite highlight from the selection. Pork collar, marinated overnight in a secret 12-spice mix, slow-roasted on a bed of root vegetables and Brotzeit’s lager, then chilled. The thin slices then enjoyed with a flourish of textures (where crispy pork skin meets the moist crunch of house-pickled daikon radish) and spice from crushed black pepper and a mustard aioli.

Perfect to nibble and wash down with refreshing gulps of German beer, Brotzeit’s delightful Dreierlei Eingemachtes spread of Duck Confit, Chicken Truffle, Smoked Trout served with romaine lettuce leaves and salted pretzels. Part of their special Oktoberfest menu available through 25 Oct 2020.
