Yes, this is still an overpriced coffee. We favor the stronger and nuttier sort of coffee. But is the only option on 初一 so we will make do with it.

The online reviews for this was “delicious seafood in a no-frills coffee shop” and “very shiok sambal pomfret”. That was probably true years ago for Gobbler.

Revisiting this in recent times and trying out their speciality sambal balachan fish was quite a disappointment for us. The fish meat was tender but it was just overkill with the oil and balachan, leaving it with a cloying aftertaste .

It wasn’t worth our calories 😔

Even though we probably dined in here 1-2 times last year (due to Covid restrictions), is still the same consistent freshness and taste. Our salmon and barramundi are so tender and they are pan seared perfectly with the nice crisp to the fish skin.

Eleven Strands - is always the truffle konbu fries and the same thing to order at their sister cafe, South Union Park. Both cafes on burrple beyond 😉

The baby pork ribs are massive and a too generous serving that gave Gobbler a shock. Given Gobbler’s capacity but he was struggling to finish up his food. Order this only if you are feeling absolutely famished.
