If you are the one who can't miss out on hipster cafes, Craftsmen would be the place of your choice to chill especially with its industrial theme. If the orange cups look similar, that's because they are affiliated to Dutch Colony Coffee from Pasarbella. Not really a fan of their rather light-bodied coffee but it definitely has the potential of being an uprising cafe.

Love the type of ham they uses as well the way they did up the eggs.

Seems like plans are getting big for Dutch Colony Coffee; after moving their roastery to an industrial district, now they have opened their second outlet at Frankel Ave. Unlike their first outlet, their second outlet boasts a spacious interior design that seems pretty much influenced from photos of overseas cafes seen on Instagram. The chandelier above the communal table, "al fresco" with glass roof and aircon to shelter patrons from the gruesome weather of Singapore and long counters is easily Instagrammable material even without much care to angle or lighting. Food menu is different as well; a variety of sandwiches and plated desserts are also available apart from the cakes on display. Don't forget to try their coffee as well; this is the reason why people would actually make their way for. A cafe inspired from Instagram made to be Instagrammed, this is sure spot for pro photographers or iPhotography alike, with some good food to share!

Papa Palheta needs no further introduction by now if you are a religious cafehopper in Singapore. The company behind Chye Seng Huat Hardware is a forerunner in the new wave of cafes on the red dot. This new cafe in Siglap marries good coffee with beautiful two wheelers. I may not have the money to buy one of them but that wouldn't stop me from bringing my trusty Raleigh bike over for servicing one of these days (the cafe offers a bicycle servicing package that includes a complimentary cuppa) I ordered a sour cream cheese brioche toast that everyone seemed to be raving about and it did not disappoint with the mix of sweet and sour flavors. My sister ordered The Coast Breakfast and though nothing to rave about still offered good value for its serving size. I was also pleasantly surprised to spot my original favourite Papa Palheta blend, Terra Firma, on sale too. Next time I will make my way here by bicycle if my knees are up for the slopy terrain.

3 succulent prawns in thick and rich soup broth that left me salivating for water after I was done. A little too much msg for my liking but it's worth a try if you don't mind the 25 mins lunch hour queue!

A yummy treat to have every now and then and it's best to go in a group for greater variety of yong tau foo. Meat sauce noodles is a must order! Relatively pricey for Yong Tau Foo but so delectable, it's worth the occasional splurge

Rich broth that could do with a more generous portion of prawns
