Went on a crowded Sunday night, and queued for a terribly long time before making it to the counter only to realise that you actually need to wait for a table as well. Waited another eternity for a table and food to arrive before receiving a totally undercooked ribeye ($23.50 nett). Needless to say, I was fuming and immediately asked for it to be replaced.

What came after was a glorious slab of Ribeye that was perfectly cooked and had the quintessential steakhouse crust on the outside. Not only was it free of tendons and grit, the steak itself was impossibly juicy! I loved the semi-thick cut fries that boasted an extremely crispy exterior while maintaining a good bite, making it extra hearty.

All I can say is that this is well worth the wait, and even more so, the money.

Aburi Chirashi ($17.90)

Much cheaper than its counterpart served in The Sushi Bar, Koh offers a similar bowl that's smaller in size but bigger in flavour. The gently torched sashimi slices were melt in the mouth, and its sauce was nothing short of spectacular.

Jin Chirashi ($30)

With a 50% discount of eatigo for pretty much the entire dinner service, this comes down to a mere $15 for a Chirashi don that comes with Uni and Botan Ebi amongst a great deal of other types of sashimi. And that's a proper steal.

Quality of some of the sashimi could be better though, with the scallops having some of that fishy aftertaste.

Tokyo Banana ($7)

Have been wanting to try this for the longest time, and had high expectations for this. With that being said, I was still very impressed by it's flavour and texture - tasted exactly like how you would expect from its name, and the soft serve was so gorgeously smooth with the crunchy walnuts and spongy Tokyo Banana cakes for diversity. Highly recommended!

Crispy Duck ($22)

Pretty underwhelmed by my experience here, especially given its one Michelin star rating. Feel as though dim sum can only reach a certain standard, and any increases in price just can't yield any further satisfaction. However, my mum thoroughly enjoyed dining here, even though it was pretty pricey.

Beef Rendang Lasagne ($16)

Great flavours here, strongly reminiscent of beef Rendang as expected, especially from that kick you get from the spiciness. However, I found the beef to be too dry, and the pasta sheets to be too hard.

OP Ribs with mashed potatoes ($29.90+)

Actually came to suntec with the intention of eating tendon kohaku, but when I saw that this was today's special, I could not resist. I was rewarded with a huge slab of medium rare steak that came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes paired with some sauce which carried an oddly satisfying curry flavour to it. I was unfortunate to not have received a slice with the bone attached though, but I would think that I got my fair share. At $29.90, it is quite hard to beat, given how well it was cooked. That being said, the meat itself wasn't the best, but ultimately you get what you pay for one way or another.

Waffle with single scoop $9.50

Looked promising at first, but was disappointed when the first bite revealed the waffles to be the "Cakey" sort rather than the crispy type. While the ice cream was pretty good, I'd say that there isn't really anything special about it.

Scrambled eggs on toast ($12)

I was initially skeptical about this dish, after all it's just egg and toast. But this was something else - it tasted pretty much like a extra-reduced cream of mushroom. Textures were on point with the use of the prawn roe and flavours were well-balanced although slightly too creamy imh.

Service was impeccable though, you could tell that they really had passion for cooking.

Crabmeat and Homemade Tagiatelle ($28)

Loved the viscosity of the sauce, having a smooth and rich texture without being too thick, allowing for the perfectly cooked tagiatelle to be coated evenly and sufficiently. I found the portion to be just right for one person even though some reviewers had said that it was too small.

I do recommend getting their Tiramisu ($15) as well, you won't regret it.

The impeccable service along with a rather "atas" ambience made for a great dining experience.

Black Pepper Wagyu Bowl ($22++)

Topped with Wagyu with a BMS score of 8/9, the beef itself was tender and flavoursome with a decent sear on its circumference, while maintaining an even shade of pink from edge to edge. It's flavour profile was well-balanced, especially with the pink ginger foam that is light and slightly sweet, helping to breakdown the richness of the dish between each bite to ensure that you get the most from every bite.

It's definitely small, and I was left hungry. But the quality makes it worth it's price tag. Can't wait to return to try their claypot rice with Wagyu shortribs!

Charcoal waffle with Caramelised strawberry ice cream ($5.5+$3.8)

Surprisingly value for money for a cafe in Tanjong Pagar. Not a huge fan of the charcoal waffles, perhaps their normal ones are better though. Creamier's waffles are much better in terms of texture and taste. Apiary fares much better in the ice cream department - smooth, creamy, rich, not overly sweet (basically ticks all the boxes of what makes great ice cream).
