Nothing beats a glass of "Kiri Kopi" on a rainy evening, by the seaside..
Koththu /Kottu is a regular dish in Sri Lanka. It is claimed that this originated from Batticaloa. (In South India it is known as Koththu Parota). Usually it's prepared with rotti made out of flour. But string hoppers are also widely used. Yaal Restaurant has a selection of Koththu made out of Pittu (another rice/wheat flour based item). I tried the Cuttlefish version the other day. It won't match the regular Koththu; but still a good dish. And I love my food served on banana leaf!
