Chinese style bbq Tried the new Meow Barbecue recently and it was a pretty good place for no frills BBQ. For someone who likes spicy food, I liked the seasoned meats more especially the chicken which was a surprise! The beef was tender as well and everything was in thin slices so they cooked quickly too. They also have other small dishes that you can order and eat, we had the tofu which had really strong flavours so they go well with rice. I also liked how everything was quick and efficient which was great because I was very hungry then (which explains the lack of pictures) 😂

Meow Signature Caramel Pudding How can you resist such adorable dessert? Served in this cute small bowl, the caramel pudding was soft and creamy, topped with a paw shape pudding as well.

Gyu Kaku new buffet We recently tried Gyu-Kaku’s new buffet menu, currently available at a promotional price of $48.80 until November 14. For a popular BBQ spot like this, the price offers good variety and is quite a value compared to their usual menu options. Some highlights were the two flavors of Gyutan (beef tongue), Karubi, and Rosu – excellent picks for those who enjoy a wide selection. As a regular at Gyu-Kaku, having tried all their menus, I did notice a difference in quality with the new buffet menu. The meat texture was a bit chewier than usual, and the flavor didn’t have the same rich, beefy depth as before. Still, it’s worth a try for the price, especially for anyone looking to enjoy a BBQ meal without overspending. A good choice for variety and value.

Japanese Wagyu Buffet ($86.80++) Came here to celebrate my father’s birthday and omg was honestly blown away by the quality of the beef. Our favourites were the Japanese Wagyu Premium Loin Long Cut and Karubi. Felt that these 2 were the least tough and the juiciest. Some parts had a lot of tendon and really hard to chew despite the A4 grading. The charcoal was extremely hot and placed under the oily Japanese Wagyu, the fire was pretty scary! One small complain that I have would be that some pieces of beef that came were not as well marbled as the rest, but the majority were amazing. I also really liked the sides, especially the Nama-Su (for the sour crunch), Shio Cucumber (refreshing crunch) and assorted Namuru. The Ponzu sauce and Garlic Chilli Oil dip was delicious as well, but my favourite would be the Chilli Paste that came with the Vegetable Wrap Set! Overall, would definitely come back for celebrations as it was a bit too sinful to feast like this regularly. The service was very prompt as well. Paid $310 for 3pax for the Japanese Wagyu Buffet + free flow green tea and would say it was worth it although pricey! Definitely give it a try if you are a beef lover ❤️

Wagyu Buffet Tried the japanese wagyu buffet, don’t think it’s worth the extra 20 bucks compared to normal beef. Alot of hard to chew tendon parts in the wagyu cuts

Unagi w mentai tamago ($22), snow crab pasta ($15) Unagi was quite small in portion. Mentai tamago combi is 👌🏻. Snow crab pasta taste like chilli crab sauce w lots of meat

Ok food for price (1 for 1) Ordered unagi fried rice - portion is small, unagi not visible but taste of unagi is evident. Seafood pasta came abit wet tasted abit more home cooked than restaurant style. Thought the oyster comes together with the seafood pasta but they claimed they served wrongly (and told me only when I was making payment) - suspect they do this with all tables who didn’t hit the min spending. Then say out of goodwill will give a 15% off for the 1 raw oyster. Overall, nice ambience but poor business ethics, won’t recommend

🐮 Gyuniku Shiogayaki Don ($18) They're pretty generous with the beef slices, which were pretty thinly cut and soft - except that they were q fatty so depends on your preference for meat. The sauce here was also much less compared to the Unatama don so it might be drier at some parts.

1 For 1 Kbbq Buffet Filling kbbq meal for 2 pax, had it with burpple's 1 for 1. Ordering comes with call number shown on TV screen, self service as well. Lots of condiments and meat! So worth it using 1 for 1 burpple deal!

Save Your Time And Don’t Come Here It really does not worth going there even with the beyond deals. With the deals it is gonna be $20 per pax. Sides dishes are prepared badly and roughly (a whole garlic! And the garlic tip wasnt even chope off for the slices). Meats are even worse. Beef are stuck together and even scissors can’t cut it apart haha. Our stoves spoiled half way through the meal, and the black grill paper kept getting onto the meat. It really doesn’t worth 💰20 dollars per pax AFTER 1f1, so save your time and choose another restaurant to eat mate!

1f1 kbbq for ~$17 per pax, quite worth but for $33… probably not. good variety of marinated meats! so didn’t get sick of the food like other kbbq. rlly liked the char siew & bak kwa pork belly and the pickled cucumbers & radish! but nothing super special. worth a try!

Grilled food! Back at Taan Asian Grill Bar! Here is what we ordered: -Grilled Mentaiko Salmon -Grilled Surume Ika Squid -Enoki Mushroom wrapped with Pork Belly in Teriyaki flavour -Japanese Eel Fried Rice The unagi fried rice is my fav carbs items here! Go to place for Frozen Yuzu Beer! Great frozen beer - thick layer of foam was almost like an ice-blend consistency. Happy hour promo of $26 for 2 glasses was pretty worth it. Yuzu recommended, lychee was quite strange. Skewers wise, we ordered the Set of 8 for $15 which was quite worth it and we were very satisfied with the taste. Pork Belly, pork ribs, chicken wings, potato slices were all good. Added on the Foil-wrapped enoki ($6.90) and we loved the garlic topping.

Takeaway Late Night Snack Shishamo and pork ribs were my fav & it’s not hard to guess why. Prawn-Wah were alittle too hard & dry. Mushrooms tend to get soggy if you’re taking away. Broccoli gets alittle mushy and oily the longer you delay. Recommend to eat fresh in-store unless you would like to avoid the BBQ smoke and loud crowd.

Thankfully the Japanese food was decent and the beyond set would suit a dinner for drinks more with a total of 4 highballs served (2 for 2). I liked our ala carte order of squid over the kurobuta pork. As for the gyozas, they were good but I couldn’t guess if the chicken filling was in-house made on the most probably ordered/store bought dumpling skin.

Japanese Charcoal BBQ This BBQ buffet offers a charcoal grill to cook all your meats and veggies which provides a really nice smoky flavour to the food. However we discovered that the meat cuts were not always consistent after ordering the same thing over many rounds. The beef short ribs for example, it’s like a roulette on what you’ll get; sometimes it’s super fatty, sometimes its super thick, sometimes it’s super thin. The enoki on the other hand was so good despite being a simple dish.

Rocku Yakiniku 3⭐ Bought 1 for 1 lunch buffet deal during Chope birthday sale, was unable to get the flash deal which is couple of bucks cheaper. The Chope lunch buffet deal is only valid from Mon to Wed. The food are mediocre, only the marinated teriyaki chicken, pork belly marinated with sesame soy and yuzu lemon are worth mentioning. The beef are slice so thin that it keep sticking to the mesh grill and the BBQ beef are tough. Ordering is via tablet and quite a number of item which we have placed order are not served. The buffet time is limit to 90min per table and the tablet will automatically reject order after 55min. Friends Tasty Korea🍗 Went to Friends Tasty Korea last month and had the free flow KBBQ ($19.90/pax) and also the LA Galbi Regular ($23)!😇 Food was pretty decent and the LA Galbi is really good🤤 Overall ratings 7/10 value for money but nothing too fancy😅

🤘🏻Friends! Went to Friends Tasty Korea for dinner yesterday😄 Ordered the premium beef steak set($12/100g) and premium beef short ribs set($28/200g)! Also added on one kimchi soup($4) and one seafood soup($4)😋 Finally, ordered the garlic wings! Overall i love the banchan variety! The meat was decent but not the best I have tasted so far. The soups were okay too but the garlic wings even though was recommended in the menu, I do not really recommend it😅 Skin was not crispy and meat was a little soft so🤔 Overall cost is $99 after GST and Svc charge, filling for 4 people but would rate it a 6/10😅

Wagyu!!! Went for the Australia Wagyu Buffet ($69.80++) for dinner with my partner & it was AMAZING 🤤 drinks are not included so we got the $1 free flow green tea as well (we really liked the tea because tastes like green + rice tea). They have a 90min eating time, which is sufficient if you are not a huge eater. We ate until we were super full and had one cup of complimentary ice cream at the end (can choose from chocolate, vanilla, matcha and mango), which was a lovely icing on top of the cake! 🥩🍨🍵
