Delicious steak! Flat iron steak was so good, cooked to the perfect medium rare. The meat was tender and seasoned well. Decided to try their pickled celery and I LOVE it! The ambience was really cosy too, perfect for date night!

Pork Ribs with original sauce The pork ribs was really good and I would strongly recommend it! The Cajun rice and buttered corn on the side was great as well 👍

Spanish Chestnut Pork ($18.90++) Really one of the better pork chops I’ve had so far. Slightly chewy and moist. Meat is good but everything else is meh. Price is within my acceptable range. Will order this again when I’m at Aston’s again

Double Up Chicken | $17.90 BBQ and Lemon Lime Chicken. Think this is the most valuable protein rich food you can find, my go to whenever I dine at astons. Both chicken were tender with the right amount of tanginess.

Japanese Charcoal BBQ This BBQ buffet offers a charcoal grill to cook all your meats and veggies which provides a really nice smoky flavour to the food. However we discovered that the meat cuts were not always consistent after ordering the same thing over many rounds. The beef short ribs for example, it’s like a roulette on what you’ll get; sometimes it’s super fatty, sometimes its super thick, sometimes it’s super thin. The enoki on the other hand was so good despite being a simple dish.

Rocku Yakiniku 3⭐ Bought 1 for 1 lunch buffet deal during Chope birthday sale, was unable to get the flash deal which is couple of bucks cheaper. The Chope lunch buffet deal is only valid from Mon to Wed. The food are mediocre, only the marinated teriyaki chicken, pork belly marinated with sesame soy and yuzu lemon are worth mentioning. The beef are slice so thin that it keep sticking to the mesh grill and the BBQ beef are tough. Ordering is via tablet and quite a number of item which we have placed order are not served. The buffet time is limit to 90min per table and the tablet will automatically reject order after 55min. Quality Food at Reasonable Price My partner had the Hickory BBQ chicken with Mac & Cheese and Baked Potato. Chicken’s always good, cheesy mac was not overpowering with the cheese and gave a nice soothing mouthful. Baked potato was soft and the butter really tied everything together. Will never go wrong with Andes! :)

Comfort Food Always a joy to eat at ANDES, quality food at very reasonable prices. Whenever I come here, I always order my favourite combo: Double Up Chicken (Fiery + Hickory BBQ) with Potato Salad & Pasta Salad! Love the depth of the BBQ, and the heat from the Fiery Chicken. One of my favourite places to eat! ^^

Cheesy Omelette with Chicken Steak I think my last visit to Pepper Lunch was already many years ago. So today decided to drop by their AMK outlet to grab my lunch with their latest offering, the cheesy omelette. The rice is covered with stack of cheesy omelette, then pour the tomato sauce while the plate still piping hot. Mix everything and enjoy.

Salmon pepper lunch Their salmon is alot! and mix it with rice is yummy!! 🤗🤗😍

3 stars out of 5 Got the Spicy Chicken Cheolpan ($8.50) and Spicy Chicken Japchae ($9.50), adding on Curly Fries + Drink for a grand total of $22.80. We liked the Pepper Lunch-esque cheolpan, especially the marinated chicken and the pops of sweetness from the corn. On the other hand, the japchae was just decent, just sweet potato noodles in gochujang-based broth with spicy chicken topping. Overall, nothing outstanding and I didn't think it was worth the price.

Bento From Omoomo Spicy chicken & Fried Karaage, decent portion of rice with kimchi. Yummy!

Kimchi Ramen From Omoomo Classic kimchi ramen, with sliced chicken meat. Rich broth matching the spicy kimchi. Not bad indeed!

Chinese Aston’s I mean basically… Very value for money and family-friendly diner. No complaints though it’s not for fussy eaters! Bonito chicken + mac and cheese + fries. Like Aston’s, you can do a protein + 2 sides, and there are a variety of other dishes as well like pasta and Asian flavours.

Simple Set Meal The dory fish is grilled and covered with a savory sweet sauce. Good for lazy days when you don't want to fish out bones. I also recommend this place bec it's not common to see a cooked side veggie of stir fried capsicums with mushrooms. Yumz. Comes with a side of mash potatoes. I highly recommend Moments located near Serangoon Ave 3. Good affordable western food.

Bonito Grill Chicken Hey not bad. I like that they now have cooked veggies as a side. Perfect for people like me who cannot eat raw veggies. The juicy grilled chicken is resting under the bed of bonitos. Pretty decent and healthy of you were to swap the curly fries with mash potatoes. Or just eat less curly fries 😋.

Grilled Barramundi with Hollandaise Sauce | $21.50++ Nicely grilled and slightly charred on both sides of the fish which gave it a nice crisp texture. Fish was fresh and Hollandaise Sauce was good. Enjoyed this very much.

Mushroom Onion Steak | $31 Succulent & juicy fillet topped with creamy mushroom onion sauce. Think they might have changed their bacon bits for their baked potato, somehow it tasted better. Jack's place is the go to for a fuss free and not too bad beef.

set lunch Jack’s Place is such an old school favourite! The options for their weekday set lunch varies each day. This is the Cajun chicken ($13.80++) - while the Cajun spice was lacking, the mustard sauce added an oomph of flavour! The chicken was tender and not at all fatty. It comes with a large serving of boiled vegetables (hidden underneath) and thick cut fries. The set is also served with their soup of the day, drink and dessert of the day. Well worth for a hearty meal!

Delicious Baked Potato Had vouchers to clear and other than its beef steak, I really like their Baked Potato with sour cream and bacon. They also have weekday discount for ribeye steak which is also worth the visit

This outlet had since relocate to 321 Clementi Mall in 2019. Back to the present, Jack’s Place still serves the nostalgic and great value for money set lunch which comes with a garlic bread, soup of day, main course, a drink and dessert of the day. P.S. Hearty Meal Ever since I've learnt about the $12 deal of Striploin Steak & Chicken (or Ribeye Steak / Striploin Steak & Prawn for other outlet), I've been wanting to try it but did not do so due to the time constraints from work until today. It was served in a sizzling hotplate and what's more, they offered table service for their condiment for the baked potato; sour cream, bacon bits & spring onion. Although this condiments is realitvely simple, but being served in such a way really made my dining experience better. It made the baked potato the star of the dish instead of the meat. This is my first time eating Jack's Place and I really loved it.

Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin Old school steakhouse. Jack's place has been in Singapore for ages. I still recall all the advertisements back in the 90s. Their steak is still one of those affordable and good. 👌👌🤤🤤

Black Pepper Chicken $10.9 Astons does their meat well – the charred and succulent chicken basted in a peppery sauce was very tasty – however their sides fell short of the mark. My mash was almost tasteless and the onion rings were of the bog standard frozen variety. Taste: 3.5/5

Chargrilled Chicken with Potato Wedges and Corn ($10.90) 😍 + Black Pepper Chicken with Mac & Cheese and mashed potato ($10.90) 😐: The first set might just be the perfect combi for me. Mac & Cheese was pretty disappointing, mashed potato also lacked flavour, but the black pepper chicken was not bad. Dining experience was a bit marred when a wild housefly decided to take a plunge into the heart of the mac & cheese.

toro toro omurice ($17.80) have always wanted to try ma maison's omurice! the egg was perfect - silky, soft and a little runny. but the ketchup rice was too bland and the brown sauce was too salty

japanese style spaghetti ($18.30) i love these kinda pastas served at japanese western restaurants. they're simple yet umami, can't go wrong!

GRAPE TART Must Add on for their tart for the full experience 😋 got the cheapest tart - grape tart ($7.80) which it’s topped with crunchy fresh grapes 🍇💗 healthy and sweet 😛
