Heng Heng Chicken Rice Chicken was tough and underwhelming. Rice was mediocre. Only had this because Tian Tian was closed. And the queue was so long because all the tourists had to turn to this substandard alternative boo. $17.50 for half a chicken with egg and gizzards and 2 rice.

I usually prefer roasted chicken, but the steamed chicken here is really not bad at all. Each piece is of substantial thickness and tenderness. It's a little oily though, but the aroma of the sesame oil was simply irresistible and the coriander and spring onion that helped with a tinge of freshness. Finally, I have found what I would consider to be the most traditional hainanese chicken rice at a quiet corner of this huge hawker centre! The very cute ah peh and ah mm has been running the stall for 30 glorious years. The rice was full of garlicky aroma(reminds me of home-cooked food very much), and the chicken was very tender with a slight bite. Love the chilli and ginger dip too!To me, this beats that super famous chicken rice(got sky one) hands down. Too much win on the table for a solo lunch(why am I eating so much AGAIN?😂). Lao Wang Chicken Rice Since 1986 I am intrigued when I see people packing away ( a lot of packets of ) food from stalls that look so ordinary - no posters , no public acclamations, no Michelin. It is almost like you can walk pass and completely miss the existence of the stall. But I was Glad that I exercised some patience this time round to investigate . This was probably the best chicken rice I have eaten in quite a Long Long time . Disappointed by rice that is either Too mushy , too greasy , too hard or completely tasteless - chicken rice is my " to not eat list" because the costs ( calorie costs) are too high. The chicken rice from Lau Wang is so fragrant ( with a good hint of ginger and garlic aroma) and so well cooked ( neither Too hard or too soft). Each grain of rice was well represented . Even though I had the rice packed, the rice still tasted so fresh and had a firm bite. The chicken was moist and had a good bite ( talking about breast meat being moist and tasty - you definitely need some skills boy !) The Chilli had a good fiery spicy kick and the consistency and taste was well balanced . It was just so aromatic . I wished I had eaten the chicken rice there and then and had given my heartiest congratulations to the stall owners for such a labour of love. It's is definitely not easy to do all the 3 elements well - rice , chicken , Chilli . The plus point is that the stall is so clean and well kept that you know you can eat with a peace of mind.

The Humble Bowl of Chicken Rice . | Despite of its look, it was packed with chicken oil. There was only one size. Smaller than the regular rice bowl and tasted better than most. Right amount of oil and the every grain was separated. So Goood.

Soft boiled Chicken . | Another old school chicken rice stall in Chinatown Complex. Once they opened stall at 3pm, the Q will never ease. I purposely ordered the breast meat to try its done-ness. No doubt, it was one of the well done chicken ever. Soaked with their in house "chicken" sauce and dipped it into the ginger sauce, to achieve the ultimate comfort.

Sambal Chicken Rice Still the king. Every component was good. The chilli was spicier than I remember but that's not a problem. I wish I spammed the self-service crumbs!

Roasted Chicken rice Henry's is a pretty popular chicken rice stall here at commonwealth, and with their the sheer overpowering % of roasted chicken hanging on display, u just know that the roasted chicken is more popular than the white steamed chicken The roasted chicken here is rather good. Meat was tender and juicy. The rice was flavourful and fragrant. The chilli was rather Solid too.

But they have an efficient system and team that manage the crowd here, so you usually get your foods pretty fast upon order.
