Ubi's Most Popular I've known this stall for years and I think can consider it a hidden find, since it draws queues but is quite low-profile. It's not mind-blowing though. Both times I tried it's just above average. This time the rice was quite fail. It's not cooked enough.

This hidden gem is better than my regular place 👍 -salted egg pork ribs rice- Choose random place for dinner around the industrial area, we found this has the most perfect taste for our liking so far. The salted egg sauce isn’t too watery wet. It’s quite dry, flavourful, lil spicy and savoury. The portion is decent as we didn’t feel it too little or too much. Curry Rice I'm trying this at its new location yet not eating the balls haha. The boss told me to try this. It came with pork cutlet, chap chye, and because the cutlet had little left, some poached chicken too. The first thing to note is the curry was the spicy kind, closer to Indian than Chinese. Next, the pork, chicken and vegetables were all mediocre.

Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball Unlike conventional chicken rice, Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball is known for their chicken rice that is shaped into a ball, steamed chicken that is lightly drizzled in dark sauce, braised pork belly instead of roasted pork and herbal soup instead of chicken soup. The portion is not a lot but the food is not bad. The steamed chicken and braised pork are very tender and go very well with the dark sauce and chilli, which is quite spicy. The herbal soup is sweet and earthy, and the soft taupok soaked up the flavours thoroughly. The chicken rice grains are shorter than usual and quite fragrant, though the rice was a little undercooked when I went, which is not their norm. Our meal was $18 for 3 pax. Good to have this again after a long time!

Roast Chicken Rice $5 Located in the same coffeeshop as the highly popular Geylang Lor 29 charcoal fried hokkien mee, Bruce Lee does a very decent plate of chicken rice that's generously portioned. The white chicken is slippery and succulent and fares better than the roast chicken which tends toward the dry side. As for the rice, it's unctuously oily, which goes well with their tangy and fiery chilli sauce. Generous Meat Halal chain. Overall nice. What stood out was the serving, especially the meat. I always say chicken rice is too little. It's pricier here, but I don't mind for the portion.

Curry Chicken From Feng Ji Chicken Rice. 咖喱鸡 Bowl of curry chicken and potato that pairs perfectly with fluffy rice. Flavourful and soft. Normally full house during peak dining hours. Loved the interior deco, it bring on conversations too.
