Very good food but weird rules We had a wonderful meal at Torio recently, and I must say their food quality is really top notch! Their Kiwami Omakase course ($138++ per pax) consists of a variety of cooked dishes, sashimi and sushi. From grilled fish to multiple sashimi courses, we were treated to many exquisite ingredients. I must say many of the courses consist of otoro, but I am totally not complaining as their otoro were so fresh and rich. Food wise I must say we were thoroughly impressed. Do not expect a very posh ambience, but do come down to enjoy good food. However, there were things we weren't so happy about. They didn't allow us to sit at the counter seats at first as we didn't order the chef omakase sets which were much more expensive, but complied later on as we ordered a more expensive course set and they brought us to a rather quiet corner of the counter. I didn't get why we couldn't sit at the counter, as the seats there were largely available the whole afternoon. Definitely would have spoilt our dining experience if not for the wonderful food they served. All in all, go for their good food without too much expectations!

Otoro and Uni Sushi You can’t go wrong with fatty tuna and uni! The omakase from @toriosg was pretty worth it in my opinion, as the courses are packed with quite luxurious ingredients.

Torio Omakase Opted for the Omakase. I love the freshness of each dish that is being served and how the Chef ensures the freshness of each dish that is being served. But the price is slightly on the pricier side, if you are looking for super fresh sashimi galore, I would recommend this place ◡̈

PIZZA SLAPS pizza was good and worth the burpple price ◡̈ staff were friendly and helpful, served free water and helped to prepare 2 complimentary birthday cakes!

Did not accept voucher during vday Was incredibly disappointed and felt a little defeated.

Did not accept Burpple bcos of vday eve I guess valentine's day is a public holiday to some.

Minced Meat Tofu ($5.50) Smooth, wobbly eggy tofu with a slightly crisp exterior, served in a savoury, starchy, and meaty sauce. A simple classic dish that is always a pleasure to enjoy.

Minced Meat Eggplant ($5.50) This dish can be cooked with sambal or garlic. We chose the garlic style. The eggplant is deep-fried to retain its natural taste and texture before being tossed into a savoury meaty sauce infused with hints of garlic. This preparation helps the eggplant absorb the flavours without becoming too soggy. Appreciated for the effort done.

Signature Kung Pao Chicken ($6.50) Tender chicken stir-fried with a rich, savoury, and starchy sauce in the claypot under bold fiery flames. It has mild spiciness, and the bubbling sauce resembles a roux texture, which can be slightly salty. Pairing it with rice balances the flavours perfectly.

Sugee Cake Still not that a fan of sugee. Also too sweet.

Gula Melaka Lava Cake The "cake" was more like a cross between a tart and kueh. There's some lava, but due to the cake's texture, the contrast wasn't that strong.

Eurasian Dessert Platter Putugal, Breudher, sugee cake. The putugal was very good. Tapioca, banana and a hint of kaya - you can't go wrong.

Unique experience Amazed by the innovative approach to food, it was interesting to see new techniques on dishes for example the Squid Noodles with Ink which tasted great with the char from being grilled over charcoals!

Best prawn toast ever! Their Prawn toast is especially crispy, fresh. With the sauce mashed on it, the flavor is combined with a pleasant sweet taste.

Great food, worth the price We started with the sourdough bread, the seaweed and honey butter is good. We tried the squid noodles and ink, it’s a must try. Very interesting and unique dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. Jumbo king prawn, though on the pricy side but it’s worth every bits of it. We can see lots of creativity into the food preparation.

Salt & Pepper Chicken McCrispy No idea what salt what pepper. This was nice but McCrispy itself is already nice.

Banana Pie I've eaten this returning item before but I must repeat it's a worthy challenger to the original apple pie. Caramelised banana is not inferior to apple.

Crisscut Fries Better than thought! It's so fragrant and when crispy it's even better since it's tiered. I wouldn't spell criss-cut that way but it's actually McDonald's registered trademark haha.

Chicken parmigiana One for one pasta — the portion is great. The taste is pretty average but the portion does make up for it.

Chicken schnitzel and cubano Chicken schnitzel and cubano: Such a good portion and cool plating. The sandwiches are great — portions are great and the sourdough base is soft.

second time!!! 🍝 used burpple 1 for 1 for the mains - had the grilled salmon pasta (honestly 10/10 for us) & the steak pasta! salmon pasta was such cheesy goodness i regretted not getting it for myself! was eyeing my friend's dinner the whole time 😆😆😆 the steak was not bad but the dish as a whole was js quite mediocre. the sauce was rly salty & the aglio olio js wasn't very fragrant. would not order again total spent $28.80 for 2 dishes after discount - pretty worth !!!

Affordable and delicious Thai Upscale and comfortable ambience, this new Thai establishment at Chijmes has a wide range of affordable Thai dishes to suit every tastebuds. We tried the Tom Yum Mama Hotpot ($25) and the Grilled Pork ($15). Even though we ordered the tomyum hotpot in small, the portion is actually very substantial, chock full of sotong, fish, prawns, clams, mussels, prawns, and even squid balls! The mama noodles included was also sufficient to feed the two of us. Pretty damn worth it! As we had a free dish from Burpple, we went with the grilled pork which was pretty good Overall, highly recommend this restaurant if you need a value-for-money Thai fix in the middle of town. Even better if you have Burpple as our total only came up to about $30!

coffee at anagram ordered the iced black and iced white from anagram and it was alright for the price, the iced white was too milky imo. the male staff was quite black-faced for some reason throughout but overall, the cafe aesthetics were rlly pretty & not bad to stop by if around the area for 1-for-1.

Great coffee in the hood! [QUEENSTOWN, SINGAPORE] One look at this coffee and I know it's gonna be good 😋 finally been to this small but aesthetic cafe that serves up pretty quality brew! Their Iced Latte ☕ ($7) had a good chocolate caramel flavour with hints of fragrant maple which I liked 😍 it's quite a big cup and I thoroughly enjoyed it till the last drop. The Iced Black ☕ ($6.50) was different, as it was smooth with a light tartness. Not too acidic as well. Definitely refreshing! What's even better is that it's available 1 for 1 on #burpplebeyond. This is a coffee I can imagine myself getting if I work around the area. As seats are quite limited, maybe it's better to come and order take away!

drinks & dessert @ Anagram! 😋 💸 ：$12.50 (supposed to b $13 😅😅...) we ordered 2 drinks + 1 tea cake + 1 scone, and the total was supp to be $13 but he heard banana cake instead of scone but ended up just giving us the cake for free 😭 hence everything in the picture. thank u for ur generosity 🙏 DRINKS 🍵 ($6.50/$7) comments... rly nice latte art 😭 1) Matcha latte: 8.5/10 (mother's review) she liked the latte in general but i thought it was a lil bitter 🙏 not thick but i thought the balance between milk and matcha was good bc its more matcha-y 2) Chocolate 🍫: 8/10 same ratio as matcha latte, not thick but same its ur preference. i thought it was p nice and i could finish the whole cup DESSERT 🍰 ($5,$5.50,$6) honestly i rly liked all THEYRE P GOOD.. all arent dry & v fragrant 1) Banana cake: 7/10 cant taste banana at all hence the rating... this doesnt taste like usual banana cake but it was q fragrant also 2) Tea cake: 9/10 First i think it depends on ur preference bc my mum said theres a weird taste to it BUT i thought it was nice 😭😭 tastes familiar IDK WHAT but they said its a light tea flavoured cake, its like weird but fragrant...i like it and also i think the portion is so big LOLL its q worth la 3) Scone: 10/10 big portion too 👍 wasnt dry nor hard (ive tried so many like this before...) & came w butter + strawbb jam. the scone itself is q moist and u can just eat it by itself without the jam coz theres alr flavour & raisin. maybe ive just never eaten good scones in my life 💀 ok thats it! i wld return to get the pastries agn more often if there was the 1 for 1 but honestly may come back for the scone even without promo LOL. drinks wldnt get if there isnt 1 for 1 just bc theres nothing unique abt it!!

Sweet treat! Tried the torched marshmallow fluff hot chocolate (there’s a 1 for 1 deal here), it was a little sweet for me. Tried the fudgy brownie too and it was nice. Crème brûlée was great too. My favourite will still be their tiramisu cake and Dubai chocolate pistachio cake! 10/10 would defo recommend. Be sure to pop by early as some popular bakes may get sold out by midday!
