Houtou noodles is a local dish and it’s famous in Kawaguchiko. The noodles feels like flat udon or thick ban mian. It comes with mushrooms, tofu, pumpkin, white cabbage and carrot in a big iron pot with steamy miso based soup, perfect for the cold weather. Hoto noodles is traditional to the fuji region. It's pumpkin soup with vegetables and mushroom and hand cut noodles (ban mian). It was very therapeutic after a 9hr Mt fuji hike. Hoto fudo at karaguchiko.
