Cafes
amazing brew - earthy, nutty and well-bodied. i haven’t had such good coffee in awhile!
we were captivated at first mouth! fragrant, savoury, sweet with a good balance of spice. only thing was, it skewed towards the sweeter side and id usually prefer my chilli crab more spicy than sweet!
an interesting combi, spaghetti was al dente, roasted pork fragrant though would have appreciated if it was a little crispier on the top. the sundried tomatoes were an acquired taste but a good addition to cut through the meaty flavours (pork & bacon). they had spice options and normal spicy was not spicy at all for me so i’d opt for extra spicy next time!
love the ambience! seeing a couple of good reviews, i wished i enjoyed the food more here! the set came w 4 soft boiled eggs, 4 slices of toast with spread & 2 drinks.
whilst i really wanted myself to enjoy the food, i found their offerings (though unique) unimpressive. with the exception of their barn-laid eggs and berries jam, which was a big yes from my tastebuds.
heard this sells out quite quickly everyday but luckily we managed to try it! filled with a slice of spam, cheese & cucumber it was a tasty and filling bun - it’s good for a satisfying breakfast.
the best of them all - i’d have this any other day and even prefer this over the classic. 🤤 stuffed with curry and potatoes, that had a real spicy kick, it was an unexpected perfect pairing with the sweetness of the bun. it enjoyed it so much that i bought 2 more back for my dad and 👦🏻 to try.
starting with the classic - this was probably the crispiest bolo bun i’ve had. the bolo crust was literally ✨golden✨ - fragrant, moderately sweet & had a great crunch. it came with a generous slab of butter which is extremely pleasing to the eyes. as someone who enjoys butter, i have to say that it was a little too much for my liking, i even had to scoop away some of it. i’d probably order the one without butter next time!
my favourite of the lot - unassuming but packs a punch. seasoned with mediterranean sea salt and ample of crisp kombu, a perfect addition to the piping hot fries. a dish i’d definitely reorder when i’m back.
if you’re looking for an umami filled dish, this is it. relish in soft and fresh aburi scallops, the perfectly seasoned and al dente capellini coated with layu then topped with ikura and shio kombu. the magic here was the white wine & layu combi that had a good spicy kick and helped cut through the strong flavours. not sure if the recipe was tweaked but i enjoyed the dish this time round more than i had it in 2020, so kudos to the chefs!
first off, visuals, 10/10. secondly, it’s a perfect definition of a loaded sandwich - i’d not recommend eating this on your first date (or rather, first 3 dates).
this thick sando was filled with crispy chicken thigh with a medley of their secret KFC sauce, crisp purple slaw & a tad of spice kick with their chilli mayo. it was filling, tasty but didn’t wow us. i’d say this would be great if you’re a solo bruncher looking for a quick fix!
a good basic bowl of acai topped with fruits, maple pecan granola and coconut flakes! personally am a more-fruits-on-acai kinda person so i would have preferred if there’s more acai bowl topping options
fragrant, earthy & creamy goodness ✨ this was sooo good, love that smoothness that lingers on your tongue with a hint of sweetness!
