One of my favorite place to get chirashi near office! Koji sushi bar has an outlet conveniently located near Telok Ayer MRT Station. As its indoor dining only has counter seats, I prefer to visit this restaurant in a small group / with one other friend for a cozy meal.
Sashimi Rice Bowl ($18)
Would recommend anyone trying their bara chirashi for the first time to switch up the white pearl rice to mixed grain rice (+ $1) as it somehow taste better! The portion of salmon cubes served was rather generous, with the variety of fish similar to what you'll see in typical bara chirashi (salmon, tuna etc). I very much enjoy the freshness of the fish and the soyu sauce that complimented well with the sweetness from the fish. To top it off, the sashimi bowl was served with a generous portion of tobiko and fried rice puffs, providing an extra crunch to the dish yum.

Back here for a second time! We tried the Signature Dry Truffle Ramen ($16.90),Ā Black Garlic Ramen ($14.90) and a side of Pork Gyoza ($6.90).
This time round, I was pleasantly surprised by how moist the dry truffle ramen was as it seems to have more oil mixed into the ramen. I recalled that during my last visit a few years back, i did not enjoy how dry and sticky (from the eggs being mixed into the ramen) the ramen was.
I enjoyed the broth of the black garlic ramen as the black garlic flavour gave a different twist to the tonkotsu broth. The gyoza was rather average but a good side to pair with the ramen.

Love Itacho's fuss free, affordable, yet quality sushi. My must haves whenever I'm there are the roasted salmon sushi & roasted salmon w tenkasu roll š
So Koh Grill & Sushi Bar's shiok maki is not new to most people as it went viral a few years back. Despite being around for a number of years, the hype for their shiok maki seems to continue as there is always a long queue for dining in.
Shiok Maki ($16.80)
I enjoyed the different layers of the maki, from the seared salmon to the smoky soft grilled eel within the rice, and eventually the sauce that was generously drenched on the maki. The sauce was cheesy and buttery. The generous portion of tobiko topped on it gave it an additional crunch and salty "ocean" taste lol.
Shiok Maki Gen 2 ($16.80)
The main difference in the Gen 2 maki is probably the crispy crunchy tempura prawn that replaced the grilled eel. With the crispy tempura prawn, there is an additional crunch within the maki beyond the otherwise soft mushy texture. The sauce was also slightly different as there was an additional mango flavour to it. It might sound weird but I actually prefer this sauce as it felt less heavy (or for Singaporeans out there - less jelat).
I can't decide which I like best and I will probably continue to order both everytime I visit this restaurant!
