Cafe
At first, I was wondering why a cup of coffee at FairPrice supermarket can be expensive. Afterwards I learned that actually this is an established Specialty Coffee Shop☕️ which already been well recognised for their quality coffee products.
Indeed the mocha is good & warm my tired soul after a long day of activities. Served in a stylish Japanese ceramic cup. Go give it a try when you’re around FairPrice Vivocity
If you ever find crepe better than this place, please let me know. Dropped by 15:50 and the lady (seemed to be the owner) told me their last order is 16:00 and they were full of orders already. But she’s still accomodated me dine in. As I have to order straight away with her.
I went with La Gleman $14.90 which consists of crepe with grated coconut, maple syrup anc homemade salted butter caramel ice cream that interests me to pick this item.
Although the crepe presentation was ordinary but the taste is amazing! First bite, will bring you to heaven state for a moment. The crepe was totally sweet since it were drenched in maple syrup but it’s worth every calories. I shared with friend over iced mocha. But their drinks doesn’t appeared to be standout, too ordinary. What a pity, my iced mocha wasn’t that good. The shredded chocolate sat below the bottom of the glass & the mocha taste is diluted with the ice.
Casual cafe for weekend teatime 2-4pm.
Next visit, would love to try Geraldine’s favourite crepe.
Quite unique steak presentation & flavours in a plate. The medium rare steak was quite tender with a bed of fresh avochimmichurri, accompanied by charred asparagus and potato salad. Suitable for a light meal dinner. Paired it with a glass of red wine and you’re set for the night.
Although I could testify their food is average, but their coffee is legit. I liked the coffee taste, appreciate their coffee latte art. Their stoneware mug has a bit of Japanese feel. The cafe is located at near walking distance from Lavender MRT.
Ordered spanish jowl bowl for lunch $14, with Burpple Beyond ala carte food is discounted 30%. The plate is quite busy with a lot of seaweed decorations. While the jowl slices is very minimum. I personally think they can removed unnecessary decorations and improve their food serving & quality. Definitely the food here is not their main strength.
Utilised my Burpple Beyond 1-for-1, ordered Black Tea with creme brûlée & Creme Cheese Foam Black Tea. The deal is excluding toppings. My choice of toppings: extra mini tapioka & extra mini taro balls. Total bills around $9 with GST.
The creme brûlée is a better choice compared with creme cheese foam black tea (too bitter to my liking).
To be honest it’s considered very expensive if you don’t have Burpple Beyond. Even with it, it’s definitely not cheap. Unfortunately they don’t have indoor sitting area, the shop is relatively small with only 4 chairs outdoor.
Located at hype shophouses stretch in Ann Siang Hill, this small humble cafe is perfect for a quick sip of your caffeine dose to fuel your energy for the day. No prominent sign at the door. You just knew it’s a cafe when you see there’s a coffee machine inside. They served oat milk as an alternate to fresh milk. Good for people with lactose intolerant like me. Outdoor seating are definitely better than indoor as you can observe the surroundings of Ann Siang Hill street.
Flat white with oat milk $7
Perhaps this is the most crisp fish & chips I’ve tried so far. It’s flaky and well seasoned. The portion was generous, and good for sharing. Love the sauce dips as well. Goes well with beers 🍺
The cafe always packed with dinners. So I have to book in advance to get the seats. I enjoyed the steak as it’s tender, just it’s too much salt flakes topping. Nice vibes, lots of CBD workers chill out after work.
Only downside they didn’t serve water, only Italian water bottle. However with Burpple 50% OFF mains, the total bill still reasonable.
My husband ordered their chicken rice, which I find quite ok only. Although it’s tender but nothing really special. They should choose better rain grains, as I felt the taste was too ordinary.
My duck noodle was better dish, as the duck meat quite tender. Good place for those want to seat on aircon place with affordable food at Chinatown.
I like the ambience of the cafe, surrounded by luscious greeneries and garden setting, it’s quite pretty at night. Good to chill and perfect place for casual dating.
The steak was tender (asked for medium rare), yes it’s my default option. And the fries quite ok, better if they fried with truffle oil. All in all, good year end evening 2020 spent at Prive Chijmes.
My husband rejoiced for this new menu item, he has been waiting for it since long time. And the taste got authentic approval from my husband as we’re Indonesian.
Taste wise, is really close to what we used to eat in Indonesia. The satay gravy was slightly spicy and the meat not too hard. Comes in beef or chicken.
Craving satisfied.
