The beef gimbap was delicious. I’ve had the chicken one before which I liked, but I think the beef one is much better. The beef is pretty lean and on the dry side, and it pairs very well with the gimbap rice. I liked the combination of the crunchy cucumber and radish and the soft crabstick, egg and spam.
I was surprised at the range of choices – chicken, egg, tuna, cheese, beef or salmon. I liked the good proportion of ingredients compared to rice. In addition to chicken, there’s tamago, pickled radish, ham and crab stick. I didn’t expect the chicken to be spicy and it overwhelmed the taste of the rest of the ingredients, so I’d like to try a non-spicy ingredient next time.
Located at the back of Beauty World Food Centre, this stall is run by Koreans and serves a variety of authentic Korean food. I had the kimbob, which came as pictured with 11 pieces, with egg, carrot, cucumber, crabsticks, burdock, pickled radish and ham. It was refreshing, homely, and made for a satisfying light lunch.
I bought this from the Korean Cuisine store. If you buy any set, you get to add on a mini pancake for free. It was rather a mediocre meal. The tofu was just ok. The pancake was nothing like pancakes in Korea. It was soft, I couldn't taste much kimchi, there was hardly any ingredients in it. I still liked it though as a sort of soft flour crepe.
I like coming here for the weekday lunch promotion, which includes a main, barley tea, and banchan for just $10++. I had the japchae with bulgogi beef and the portion was generous, with a nice amount of ingredients. The barley tea was warming and I liked the bean sprouts in the banchan.
