Criminally Underrated

Wandered into this place in search of dessert.
Was immediately impressed by how warm and attentive the owners were, even with less than an hour to closing on a Sunday night.

Ordered a chendol, walnut-black sesame paste, and steamed egg.

The steamed egg was the first to arrive, fragrant and a little spicy from ginger, not overpoweringly so, and just sweet enough for you to still taste the egg. Very impressive.

Next, the walnut-black sesame paste. Smooth and substantial, but not too thick that it'll clump in your throat. Consistent and definitely well-executed.

Last to arrive was the chendol. I know, chendol in a traditional Chinese dessert place? Well, prepare to be very pleasantly surprised. One of the best chendol I've had in Singapore. Good mix of all ingredients. Chendol was obviously handmade.

Just when my friends and I were already thinking of writing a wholly-positive review, the owner came out with a complimentary tang yuan in ginger soup.

If this was a GPA of 4.0 he had clearly pushed it to 4.3. (if you understand this you're alumnus from a neighbouring institution)

Tang yuan was soft, chewy but not mushy - kept its shape. Black sesame filling was flowy.

Overall - I hope I've convinced you of the quality of the food.

The price was very agreeable as well - 10.40 for 3 bowls.

Just do yourselves a favour and pay them a visit.
