Got 1 lunch set ($16) with miso mushroom noodles. This was so damn tasty I’m not always in the mood for mushrooms but this converted me instantly 🍄 Chose Pierogi dumplings, but I kinda tasted abit of truffle (not 100% sure?) and I HATE truffle so no go for me. Drink was some longan thing quite refreshing
Also got 2 sets of 5 dumplings each: original & veggie mandu ($7-8 each). Original was gd but nth super special. I loved the veg ones a lot!! And the dipping sauce was some Mayo-based concoction I think, it went really well :~) wld come back to stuff myself w the veg mandus

I loooooove asanoya! Mostly because of the cute cute bread eg this and the turtle matcha melon pan 🐢 They’re soft and fluffy and reasonably priced. Plus coffee is really cheap I think about $3-4ish
📍Clarke Quay
u know it’s good when u nearly cried after finding out it closed down 😭😭😭 just wanna do a review anyway for the memories
they have sweet & savory options for the French toast; I’ve tried both. The sweet one comes with lots of berries, the savory one has BACON STRIPS and yes I prefer the savory French toast! The bacon went really well with the sweetness of the maple syrup
AND the toast itself was super fluffy and warm with a slight crisp on the outside. an absolute masterpiece. I’m honestly so sad it closed down 😭
📍Buona Vista (Star Vista)
i alw get the Salmon mentaiko roll (can’t rmb the exact name) and it’s quite ex (~$16-18 iirc) BUT pls go try it’s WORTH
📍Botanic Gardens
Came for a quick brunch, ordered the House Ricotta Tartine ($12) 🌟🌿🍅 hands down one of the most memorable dishes of my life!! Was never a tomato person but this was the perfect combination.
They were very generous with the ricotta and it was a wonderful consistency, not too dense :-) the cherry tomatoes added a wonderful burst of sweetness and flavor, especially coupled with the fresh crunchy arugula leaves 😭🌟
Maybe it’s a little pricey for a piece of toast, but I’d say it was worth it. Am planning to come back here for a nice Sunday brunch :”)
📍Bras Basah (Odeon Towers)
🌟 on wednesdays they have 50% off on their sushi rolls 🌟
Been here a few times already and I keep coming back for more! I can’t quite remember the rolls I’ve tried, but a couple stood out: I love The Prawn King ($18.90) 🦐 & All Salmon, All The Time ($16) 🐟
I love how special each roll is — each one has a combination of different ingredients and they all taste different!! So if you go with friends you can share and taste a little of everything 😛
I think it’s pricey without the 50% off, so I’d just go on wednesdays 💸💸
nice atmosphere and good service— a good place for dates or nights out with friends 🌃
📍Marymount (Upper Thomson stretch)
Dropped by while walking my dog and got a small Nutty Party ($5.90) with cookie butter drizzle.
Portion was smaller than I expected, but surprisingly filling. It’s topped with sliced bananas, cacao nibs, almond slices, and ofc cookie butter (you can choose other butters too)! 🍪
Personally I’ve always loved acai from Acai Affair (which Thrive is under) because it’s never diluted, and it tends to be (very) slightly cheaper than the others :-)
FYI there’s 1f1 for large acai bowls! But I was alone haha.
📍Tanjong Pagar
Ordered 2 Maine-style crabrolls (~$each) with the 1f1 deal. Service was great (they were very polite and prompt)!
Our food arrived within 10mins and although it looked pretty plain & unassuming at first sight, it was surprisingly good 😭 they were generous with the crab portion, and it tasted fresh and flavorful!! the rolls were toasted perfectly and buttered inside for that extra savory kick.
Pricey without the 1f1, but I’d go back again 😛
📍Tanjong Pagar
Got a regular-sized Salmon Mentaiko (~$25 iirc), and we were served within 10mins!
The portion was a little small, but the mentaiko was absolutely delicious - flavors were balanced and there was the slight charred flavor which I LOVE :-)
The salmon was fresh and cut to the perfect size (IMO) so the salmon to mentaiko ratio worked out really well hehe 🐟
I highly recommend eating at the outdoor dining area because of the pretty wooden furniture, plus you’re surrounded by the beautiful shophouses there 🤩
Would 10/10 come again!! Worth it with the 1f1.
