Japanese Picks
Love the generous toppings of salmon, maugro, ika, and ebi. Rice portion is large and generous.
($6.90) A steal at the heart of the CBD. Comes with fried chicken and the Shio noodle sauce (which tastes like thickened mushroom cream). The noodles are excellent and immediately reminiscent of Saveur. Can be a tad salty which can be resolved by adding some of their Sriracha chilli sauce
($10.80) Well-marinated pork collar on rice, especially when well mixed with the onsen egg and seaweed. They provide a good range of sauces to change up the flavour of the bowl as there is only a small amount of the base sauce.
($10.80) One of the cheapest Kaisen bowls you'll find. Quality wise it isn't top tier but the bowls are generally fresh. Portion is just right, especially if you're saving space for some sushi on the side.
