What pulled the flavours of cod and clams together was actually the creamy garlicky broth with hints of white wine. Although the cod fish could have been more tender and buttery, it still went very well with the stew which was infused with the sweet juice from the clams. Surprisingly, there was also wok hei in the dish which added another layer to the flavour profile.

In this dish, the clams actually took centre stage. The portion of clams was really generous, where I ate more than 20 clams 😂 The freshness of it was undeniable even though I'm not really a clam person.

Pair this dish with a crusty hot garlic bread to soak up all that creamy goodness, and I can guarantee that you will be so stuffed and satisfied at the end.

For a post-drink snack, a good friend recommended us the mushrooms, Taiwanese sausage, chicken wings, pork belly, and long beans.

The skewered items are generally seasoned the same way - strong, flavourful and intense. Each skewer didn't really have a distinctive taste. Additionally, all shared a similar theme, where each item was juicy and had a nice thick bite to it. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, as the spices ingrained in the meat are pretty overpowering! Out of the fistful of skewers, the mushrooms were my personal favourite where they make a perfect pair with the chicken wings.

Yet, R&B's Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cheese Brûlée ($5.80) makes every calorie and sugar intake so worthwhile 😁

Each drink is capped with cream cheese and a sprinkling of sugar which receives the crème brûlée treatment right in front of you with a blowtorch.

I would advise not mixing the drink, and instead SLOWLY sip up the perfect layers of creamy milk, brown sugar, and warm chewy tapioca pearls. The cheesy foam at the top is like the missing puzzle piece which completes the entire ensemble in every brown sugar boba milk drink, and every sip just makes you swoon with delight 💕

This bowl of Oyoko Don ($9.80) is one of a kind - sweet, savoury and spicy all in one. The paprika powder added an extra dimension of flavour without overpowering the flavour of the chicken. Unlike the usual steamed white rice, mixed grains were used which were slightly hard (but healthier option 😉). Albeit well seasoned, the egg could have been much silkier and softer. The chicken cubes hidden are abundant and very juicy!

In comparison to the Oyoko Don, the Mushroom Truffle Don ($9.80) is a much healthier option. It consists of sautéed truffle mushrooms, edamame, cherry tomato, poached egg, and of course, mixed grain rice to complete the bowl! If you love mushrooms and truffle, this is just the bowl for you ☺

Ordered the Briyani with Fried Chicken ($10.80) and was rewarded with tender thigh meat encased in a crispy crust. After a few small bites, we felt that the meat itself was rather dry and it could have been more flavourful. Thankfully, their gravy saved the day with its full-bodied flavour! Drenched the rice with it and the addition of the papadum elevated the entire experience by adding a crunchy and salty touch.

We also had the Laksa D'lite ($7.40) which was a perfect blend of savoury laksa. It's milky rich gravy, thick noodles, egg, taukwa, fishcakes, prawns and beansprouts make an excellent combination. I also like how they actually set the sambal chilli aside so that we can adjust the spiciness level to our liking.

Capped off the meal with some TehCino ($4.50) because it looked really enticing on the menu 😂 Every sip warmed me from the inside out, just like how any good old cup of teh tarik does. .
If we are in the vicinity again, we would definitely come back here to try out other local delights such as their meesiam! ☺

Despite the slices being tender, the braised pork was a little disappointing. Was expecting it to encompass robust lor bak flavours but the flavours were pretty muted on my tastebuds.

The sambal kangkong oozed with wok hei goodness with the right amount of spiciness. Fresh and crunchy, the vegetables are bombarded with an amalgam of flavour, and we felt that it's one of the better ones around in the hood!

Another must-try is the incredible tasty and fluffy chai poh omelette. It has a beautiful golden brown crust that caught my attention the minute it was laid down on the table. It went on to captivate my tastebuds with delectable bites of chai poh. 😍

Would definitely make repeat visits here as it is so conveniently located in Nex, and I never knew that humble dishes can taste this good. A special shout-out to the warm hospitality too as they definitely made the experience more heartwarming. ☺
