I saw too many recommendations of this dish to pass it up and besides my everlasting love for scallop meant that this became a must order. I like how the noodles were firm but it would be great if it were a little less oily because I felt that I was literally drinking oil down my throat with each mouth. The scallops were definitely the highlight as it was succulent and chunky which were a delight to the taste buds.
My first thought was that the food here was really affordable. Most dishes are between 12 to 19 dollars and with Burpple 1 for 1, it's literally a steal. I went for my favourite aglio aglio because it's is literally the hardest kind of pasta to make. The ingredients are simple but it's getting the proportion right that differentiates a good one from a mediocre one. I was over the moon when I realise they managed to get the garlic and olive oil taste into the pasta which was firm enough. The only thing that feel through was the prawns as they were a little too overcooked.
I noticed my tendency to go to Aston's for their double up chicken whenever I am super hungry because it's probably one of the most value for money deals ever. The chicken was super tender and flavourful as usual. The only let down was probably the wedges which were a tad too soft and on the verge of becoming soggy.
Though brother milk is famous for its renditions of some of the most popular dishes, I have to admit I was rather worries about this one. Because curry and crossiant isnt exactly the best combination since the gravy might be too dry or the crossing might get too soggy. Despite that, the Japanese curry was so well conceptualised as there were even carrots and potatoes which went well with the Michigan crossiant!
This beef burger is a classic example of a dish that is just way too tempting that I sank my teeth into the dish before I could even take a photo of it. Even though the beef patty was a little dry, the bun stood out a lot as it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; which isn't common for most burgers I have tried
I was never a vongole person until I was recommended this by se7enth staff and everything changed. I was pleasantly surprised with the chefs mastery of ensuring that wine used in the sauce does not overpower the essence of the clams used in this dish. The grilled scallops were the best addiction as it enhanced the flavours of the dish with its crunchiness!
If I have to pick a stand out dish, it has to be the crispy chicken wing coated with honey and truffle oil. The first thing that hits you is the aroma of the truffle oil and later comes the crispy batter which enhance the chicken wings with the crunch. I literally felt that I was in seventh heaven with each bite. A must order if you ever visit this lovely place with excellent ambience!
Being a huge fan of crayfish, I just had to order this and it turned out to be a rather good decision. The sauce was peppery which helped to reduce the fishy taste of the crayfish. The crayfish would be better if it were cooked to be more firm as I felt that it was a tad too soft
I thought this dish fell a little short of my expectations following the wonderful chilli crab scramble egg. The rosti was a little too over fried and it was too oily and way too hard. They were generous with the smoked salmon though but I might come back for other dishes instead.
An excellent choice for breakfast as the aroma of the truffle oil and chunky mushroom bits would enhance your appetite for the rest of the day. My continuous return to Grids and Circles has proved that they are indeed consistent in their bread as it's always so buttery and crispy.
Loved the super antique setting where you feel as though you are transported back to the Victorian times! The chicken wings are very well cooked as it was tender and juicy only that it lacked taste. However, the place was a little too hot.
While this mac and cheese looks like a plain Jane on the outside, it's actually rock star material. The cheese was really light and creamy which made the whole experience really pleasant. The addition of Parma ham also added more flavour to the macaroni allowing for an unforgettable experience. By the way, make sure to go early at night because it's a hotspot for those who work in the vicinity.
