This is a really good place to do work/ chill on a weekday. It is quiet and there’s a good variety of food of both western and Asian food provided.

Not premium quality but acceptable and of a reasonable portion. My fish and chips came with a light salad and tartar sauce. Gotta pay GST and service charge here, but another plus point is free WiFi (use the free capitaland network).

Egg roll here is consistently great. Thick, fluffy, generous amount of cheese topped with honey mustard. Burpple beyond is available here but exclusions apply. Other favorites are the anchovy rice and the pancake!

Back here for Breakfast. Gravy is sweet with a tinge of sourness. I like this because the Mee Siam gravy is slightly thicker than usual, noodles are not soggy nor over cooked. Not hard to see understand why this is a popular dish here. Rumah sayang uses long grained rice for nasi lemak, that is worth a try too!

Rumah sayang is NEVER empty. These are the two popular dishes. I like the mee rebus for the sweet but not overly starchy, slightly sweet gravy & the soft yellow noodles. My mom has always been a fan of the mee siam which has a slightly sweet sauce too.

Fishball & mee pok was soft and easy to eat. Had mine with a little chilli and the whole bowl came together well and was very light on the palate. Nothing fancy but a solid bowl for a good morning breakfast. Will be back to explore more of this sleepy neighbourhood.

PS Pandan Gardens is not exactly Jurong but so near so Jurong Territory also okay! Lol

Poon Kee makes very decent wanton mee. I usually only go for places with thick char siew but I really like the way the sauce blends with the noodles here. Personal preference is wanton mee with just a little chilli. I order the wanton horfun at times too. The wanton is not too big but still substantial and nicely wrapped. The char siew though thin, is not dry.

Enaq is THE HIDDEN GEM of Jurong East. I absolutely love the cosy space and as the title suggests, the mushroom cheese prata. Crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. Which prata around comes with chili and curry? ENAQ does!

Wonder why I didn’t come earlier. This place has a rather interesting menu which makes me wanna return again.

All three dishes we had were above the average tze char standard. This cod fish deserves special mention because it was so perfectly fried and easy on the palate. The spinach with three eggs was a hit as well, vegetables not over cooked and the sauce was rich but not starchy.

Saw a couple of not the usual tze char dishes and signed up for the few membership! 三人行, I will be back!

Ichiban may be a casual chain but there is no doubt the effort they put into plating. This set was super value for money at 27 plus. I had both sashimi and sushi, mini chicken salad, vegetable tempura, chawamushi, teriyaki flounder fish & miso soup.

Please get the chawanmushi here. It is very value for money with some additional ingredients aside from just the normal steamed egg. Isaramuya is one of the few halal Japanese places in the west. While I wouldn’t rave about the food in general (my sushi kinda fell apart quite easily) :/ the service is good and food is served rather quickly.

Decided to give this a shot again, and this time the chicken wings were ready. I must say it looked quite dry but the chicken was quite nicely fried, didn’t taste dry at all. Sambal was still shiok and they were quite generous with it. I like the Sambal goreng, the fermented beans was not easy to chew, unlike many other stalls that have it too hard. I will be back to try the otah!

Had to go for vegetarian today and was pretty pleased to Aloha Poke could cater to my need - Greendot had too long a queue and I couldn’t be bothered to queue. This is two servings of tofu which was pretty delicious when mixed with the salad dressing. I had mixed grains, cherry tomato, cucumber and avocado. The bowl came with salad and small pieces of pineapple which added a little more contrasting flavour to the meal. This satisfying bowl came at 16.90. Probably the only poke store in the west for now (I’m hoping I’m considered well informed)

Eat eat eat repeat! Perpetually thinking about my next meal 😌
