Chicken Rice
Pleasantly surprised to find that they had a mixed rice combo with their famous chicken leg. Not bad, had lap cheong inside which really made the rice very fragrant.
Got this delivered using Grab Food. Ordered wings and medium rice. Roast chicken was ok. The star was the rice. The aroma was great and tasted even better.
Loved the chicken leg here cos it tasted fresh. No frozen bad smell. The chili was fantastic. Spicy level was good and quite garlicky. This dish wouldn’t be the same without it. A very satisfying meal.
Wow this was really good. I usually prefer the roast version but this steamed one impressed me. The meat was very tender and the skin was gelatinous. Very delicious. Add gizzard extra $0.50.
I requested for 鸡尾, which means the back part of the chicken. Essentially it was thigh meat, near the butt area. Since I’m the squeamish type, I removed the part nearer to the butt and just ate the thigh meat in front. Nice.
The normal roast chicken rice was $4.80, add $0.50 for drumstick. Gizzard was extra $0.50. Chicken was really good, quite tender. Skin was great. The chicken rice was fragrant and delicious.
I liked the rice. Not the soft mushy type. Dumpling soup had only one dumpling inside and it was more like a wonton. Filling was really little and a lot of skin. Bean sprouts were ok. I had the soy sauce chicken cos roast chicken was not ready yet. I didn’t like it. Very little meat a lot of bones. Some parts were reddish pink so I had to cut them out. Sauce was a thick light brown colored sauce that didn’t resemble soy sauce. The best thing was the chili sauce. Good spicy level and garlicky.
They moved from basement up to level 2.

Free with Burpple Beyond. The chicken drumstick was deboned and amazingly tender. Rice was fragrant and delicious but a bit too soft for my liking. It was nice big bowl and I finished every grain. Sauces were definitely too little. Chili also not spicy enough. Soup was ok.
The chicken rice set came in a battered old looking tray. Maybe it was their concept, but the tray looked a bit dirty and that was a definite minus in my book.
The Lao cheong slices were quite big. Not very oily. Nice, but not a fan. For extra $3, I thot it was a bit expensive.
The chicken was absolutely incredible. So tender and flavorful. And not overly salty. Rice was so so. A bit soft for me. Drumstick add $0.50.
The rice was not to my liking. No fragrance that I could detect, but at least it wasn’t mushy. The chicken was ok but I spotted a strand of hair mixed into the chicken, which couldn’t be mine cos then it wouldn’t be wet with sauce. Chili was not spicy enough for me.
Oh my goodness this was da bomb! Fragrant rice with just the right amount of black sauce, and generous amt of boneless chicken thigh pcs. Free flow garlic made me so happy. There were crispy bits of rice at the bottom, and the best thing was that the rice didn’t stick to the pot. This must be the best claypot rice I have ever tried!
