Fishball Noodles
Add $0.20 for take away box. A little on the dry side but the chili was good. Not too impressed with the fish balls and fish cake slices. They were not as smooth as I expected.
This came with fish cakes. The balls were so fresh and bouncy and the fish cakes were fried to perfection. Not enough chili thou I asked. Too much vinegar today and on the bland side. Uncle was not the one cooking. He was supervising. Disappointed. Uncle’s skill is still the best.
This was the $3 version. Fish cake not given for $3. Not enough chili thou I asked. Too much vinegar today and on the bland side. Uncle wasn’t the one cooking. He was supervising. Disappointed. Uncle’s skill is still the best.
This was more interesting than just plain Fishball Noodles cos there were fish cakes and fish dumplings as well. I added extra 2 fishballs for $1.30. Loved the chili sauce and pork lard in this.
What an exceptional bowl of Fishball noodles! I asked for no ketchup, just a huge dollop of delicious Sambal chili. A little bit oily but I couldn’t do without the crispy pork lard.
This was from the Chili Ban Mee stall. The noodles tasted like handmade noodles, very Q. What really attracted me was the free flow take-as-u-please chili. Got levels 1-5. I only took level 1 and yes it was spicy. All were the dried chili flakes type. Fishballs were bouncy. Also got lots of ikan bilis. Delicious.
Chili is most important to me in a bowl of noodles. Unfortunately this one had a ketchupy taste that I disliked. The noodles and ingredients were all ok, but I just couldn’t get past the chili hurdle.
Chili can make or break a bowl of noodles. I asked for extra chili and that really made this dish. One of the few places in Bugis Junction opened for biz on Sat morning 8.50am.
Definitely not my kinda Fishball Noodles cos the gravy tasted more tomatoey than spicy. I asked for extra chili some more. Noodles a bit nuah.
Lately the fish balls at their Old Airport Road branch tasted a bit off, so I came back to my original first love despite the 40 mins drive. Uncle no longer recognizes me 😭😭😭 but his noodles were still top notch. This was the taste I fell in love with 12 years ago! The chili was still the best in town and didn’t change at all. The sweet taste of memory and nostalgia made this bowl even more delicious. Made my day. Thanks uncle ❤️❤️❤️
I was really hyped up to try this cos I’ve read so many good reviews. The fish balls were bouncy and fresh. Fish cake was great too. And fried fish skin definitely scored points with me. But the noodle itself was very average. And the chili was a huge let down. Overall the taste was quite bland. I had hoped for more.
A very nice clean food court great for a simple dinner after grocery shopping at Isetan Supermarket. I’m a great fan of the fish ball noodles here. Got another branch at Causeway Point food court. This was quite an oily bowl, but bcos it tasted great, I can overlook the oil. And of cos, got fabulous chili. I really liked this signature bowl that featured fish dumplings, fish cake and fish balls. Fish dumplings were large and very chewy. Fish cake and balls were good too.
