Part of the set meal - there was NO tummy ache after, it was fresh and good... but I still prefer Long Beach King...

The best lobster roll deal I’ve seen in Singapore! There was a decent amount of fresh lobster and mayo in the buttery brioche. It came with crispy fries and a super addictive mayo - a cross between an aioli and tartar sauce which I think was different from the one in the roll. Pretty sinful but worth a try!

Located just outside Somerset 313 on Orchard Road, Oriole Cafe + Bar is the perfect place to catch up on some work. Order the Death Cream ($9) to keep you going — a creamy, yummy drink made with a secret concoction using vanilla beans, espresso and cream, inspired by a recipe from the 1980s. The result? Velvety, smooth coffee served in a bottle so big, it that can comfortably fill two cups. Those who need a caffeine boost while working hard can be like Burpple Tastemaker Fiona Ting, who added an extra shot of espresso to make it an "absolute killer, kickstart Monday concoction".

Tucked into the corner of Jiak Chuan Road ('esquina' translates to 'the corner’ in Spanish), this restaurant boasts a raw, industrial vibe, and features a long counter with bar stools that wrap around an open kitchen. Get ready for a sea-focused Mediterranean feast, best embodied by one of Esquina's classics — a rich, creamy sea urchin, crab and lobster bisque with smoked herring roe and sea grapes ($22), served in the visually astounding sea urchin shell. Follow this with the Grilled Spanish Octopus ($28) that's first sous vide to obtain tenderness, charred for a smoky flavour and served with Jerusalem artichoke, burnt onion and oyster leaf. Don't leave without digging into the epic “PBJ” ($15): peanut butter parfait, banana, cherry jam, and puffed grains. You'll enjoy this unpretentious, grungy spot that screams industrial chic while watching the chefs at work too.

Located at the top of Odeon Tower, this spacious rooftop bar is the perfect place for you and your colleagues to loosen up after work. Come for the Happy Hour deals (house pours start from $5 at 5pm to 5.59pm) and stay for the crowd favourite Chilli Crab Cheese Fries ($14). First fried to a glistening golden brown, Loof's inch-thick potatoes slices are blanketed in a layer of cheddar cheese and then smothered with a generous scoop of moreish chili crab sauce — it is practically all Sri Lankan crabmeat. Wash the messy, cheesy and spicy combo down with The Gummiberry ($22 for two shots) that comes with a meringue on the top!

Atlas is a great pitstop for coffee if you're on the go (they use a blend of Guatemalan and Brazilian beans from Two Degrees North Coffee Co.) or for long brunches with friends — just be sure to swing by early to snag a seat on weekends. For a downright comforting meal, go for the Creamy Mushrooms on Sourdough ($12) — a generous heap of mushrooms cooked with a splash of white wine and sundried tomatoes, which you must pair with the silky smooth Scrambled Eggs ($3 to add on, totally worth it). The ATLAS Super-Bowl ($17) loaded with toasted quinoa, beautifully oven-roasted squash and zucchini as well as shimeiji mushrooms is satisfying, yet light enough to not warrant a food coma after. If you still have space, you might be tempted by the irresistible pancakes, but we recommend the Mixed Berries Compote Waffles ($12.50) instead. They are similar in taste but the latter is lighter and more affordable.

Know that going into Noodle Thai-Thai Kitchen means there’s a possibility of you leaving with puffy lips, runny nose and a fully satisfied tummy. Located a few doors down from Mrs Pho on Beach Road, Noodle Thai-Thai Kitchen dishes out flavourful and authentic bowls of noodles. Their Spicy Thai Thai Soup Noodles ($6.90) is not to be reckoned with — its soup is cooked with a generous portion of fiery hot chili powder commonly used in Thailand. What makes this stall stand out from the rest is its abundance of ingredients, from crispy pork rinds to fishcakes and meatballs. If you’re not looking to sweat it out, opt for the superb Signature Crispy Pork Jade Noodle Dry ($6.90) instead — al dente thin green noodles served with tender, flavourful slices of pork, a wobbly egg and fried wonton. The sweet-tangy sauce served on the side is great for dipping your pork into! Pro tip: Swing by during lunch with your colleagues and have the set lunch (from $5.90) — it comes with a traditional Thai dessert and a drink!
