Hawker Gawker.
We were there just before 6pm and 6 people were queuing. After going one round around the hawker and back at this stall, there were another 6 people queuing and their faces look so eager š So we joined in. The curry seems to have way more coconut milk than Loo's curry if that's what you are used too. But for its light color it is far from bland. All the flavours are well balanced and the ko lei chai just disappear in your mouth šš and it's bursting with flavour too!
Since we were there earlier than the dinner crowd, we decided to get this. Mom keep peering in to see if the mee is the wet kindš Anyway, to us it doesn't have the strong broth flavour and the mee hasn't soaked much flavour in too :( The one in Bukit Batok still holds the best Hokkien mee in my heart but they closed... (Where are they now? š¢)
I guess I just have stamps on my eyes. LOL! Always stopping right before I reach this place, I never even stop to wonder what is sold here. And omg, the stuff are so... exotic š My friend seems to come here often, and the shark meat, ē¦å·č鄼 and ēŖčå» are all recommended. Noob me ordered the black chicken and bkt. We also had the fish head, which stunned all of us cause the meat is so sofftttttt >< In heaven, jinjja.
To bring this huge ass bucket of sugarcane home. It's meant for dabao right? Hahaha. Just kidding. Pls don't. To me, this store's sugarcane is sweet, not diluted, and feels... smooth? Haha. Almost exactly like the one I had in Ben Tre, Vietnam. Sudden wave of nostalgia.
I have no idea how exactly Hainanese this is, but it is so nice! Unnoticed amongst all the sugar cane towers and sambal stingray, but it will make the perfect end to your boisterous dinner at chomp chomp :D I have never tried it before this too, but I was looking around for something new, and it was really worth the try! Topped with salted veg, peanuts and seaweed, the combined taste.... šššš It's just really special.
