Farrer Park: Finally got to try these well-known beancurd tarts from @lecafe_sg! Can't help but feel a smidge disappointed by the way it was being raved about - was expecting much more. It's nice, but not "make orders rush down out of your way suffer bad attitide" nice.

Pros: Cheap, only $1.25 each. Buttery crust, beancurd filling is not sweet & very smooth. They sell many other pastries - mixed beancurd tarts & giant pineapple tarts are popular too!
🐶
Cons: Can only get in boxes of 8. Crust too sweet.

East Coast: @ninethirty_sg by @awfullychocolatesg. We only come here for desserts. Somehow their food doesn't appeal to me.

Pros: Good service. Takeaway no service charge of 10%. Hei ice cream is creamy & chocolatey! 😍 My favs: truffles, salted caramel brownie, smores, ice cream.
🐧
Cons: Kindda pricey. Everything is extremely sweet. Hit & miss items. "Apple Pie" drink waste money - diluted & tasteless.

3rd times (review) a charm? Perhaps it's true! The first few visits weren't memorable & i couldn't understand why it remains so popular. But i'm starting to enjoy @lolascafesg , the more times i try out their stuff. 😃 See previous 2 recent postings for more info.

Pros: Cosy & relaxing vibe. Above avg. cafe within the Kovan neighbourhood. Friendly staffs. Drinks are good. Reasonable cafe prices. Fav dishes: Paprika wings, Breakfast croissant

Cons: Peak hour queues. Dinner is a no-go for me. Desserts are mediocre, not the worst, not the best. Choc cake is too sweet to my liking. Closes at 11:30pm but by 10:50, you'll start to feel pressured to leave.

Price: S$17.50 - chai soy latte, strawberry green tea, choc cake

Quaint little cafe's in "random" neighbourhoods are always highly appreciated! Ok i think i'm finally getting why it's popularity remains! 😃 @lolascafesg is a charming cafe that even though isn't the best, but will always keep you coming back. Previous review 5 days ago.

Pros: Opens till quite late. Nice chillout cafe. Decent food & service. Desserts i've tried aren't too sweet! Fav dishes: Paprika wings, Breakfast Croissant, White Choc Cheesecake

Cons: Long queues. Dinner menu just okay, nothing to shout about. Seats are uncomfortable. Panna cotta is high on my fav desserts list so the ones served here was "weird" for me. Didn't like the walnut crumble.

Price: S$15 - white choc cheesecake (ltd edn, please make it permanent?😃), panna cotta, takeaway

My go-to place for crepes in SG @wimblylu ! Unlike waffles which are so suffering to finish, these are thin & not too filling after a meal. This dessert cafe is so well-known, needless to introduce further 😊

Pros: Reasonable prices & wonderful service! Cosy interior with great atmosphere, quaint locality adds on to the vibe. Crepe is fragrant & not too sweet. Salted caramel ice cream is the perfect complement 😃 Matcha latte 👍

Cons: Very crowded during peak hrs. Didn’t fancy most of the desserts i’ve tried; root beer cake, blackout cake, molten lava cake, rocky road, double choc cheesecake, earl grey mousse, lemon meringue pie. Didn’t like them for each of their own reasons but mainly coz it's inconsistent & very sweet, which overwhelms everything. Root beer cake & earl grey mousse nicest of the lot (will order again, but must share)

Price: S$22.30 - Crepe w single scoop ice cream (pictured), Root Beer Cake, Earl Grey Mousse cake. Full menu online

Siglap outlet: Yet another very authentic place for Italian but just here for desserts tonight 😊 oh & what's up with Italian restaurants & bad lighting 😒

Pros: Cozy quiet corner at East Coast area. Good quality. Yummy desserts. Great pasta's here too. Pistachio ice-cream is awesome. Desserts not sickly sweet.
🐯
Cons: Crampy and uncomfortable seatings. Will not reorder tiramisu - too small for $14++ & not the best
🐯
Price: S$23.54 - tiramisu, pistachio ice cream

Tried to have something new - water chestnut + egg + grass jelly; super fail 😂 It's lousy compared to traditional HK style. Will stick to my fav steamed milk.

Golden mile branch: Long-standing tang yuan shop! What is yuanxiao (11 Feb) without eating these yummy glutinous rice balls? @75ahballing

Rating: 7/10

Will i return/recommend: Yes/Yes (only matcha ball w peanut soup)

Pros: They have four different sweet soups & 6 diff balls to choose from! Love the matcha flavoured ball and peanut soup the best! Matcha is really thick and strong flavoured, texture is almost like a melted matcha choco if that makes sense? 😂 Peanut soup is not too sweet, very light & flavoursome. The thickness and chewiness of the tangyuan was just right for me.

Cons: Not a fan of the ginger soup, nor all the other flavoured balls. Least fav has got to be sesame ones. Red bean filling today was tasteless in one yet super sweet in another (probably a one off mixing mistake from the rush). I'm not crazy about tangyuan's though, so do factor that in.

Price: S$2.80 - 6 pcs (on Yuan Xiao Jie)
