Mmm yum yum in my tum tums. This was particularly a delight on a Sunday morning. Rich, meaty and dark minced beef topped over springy egg noodles. Tambah a bit of their homemade chilli sauce and mix evenly. Adds an extra kick to the overall dish. The accompanying beef balls were also tasty, bouncy and served alongside flavourful beef stock soup. If there’s one thing I’d passionately recommend here, it’s Yang Kee’s Kopi O’ Peng. Sibeh kao.

Yang Kee has several locations in their name — Jalan Peel, OUG, Seapark (may be closed for good, need to recheck)
Perhaps best known for their sashimi and sushi platters, I had a go with their udon instead (because if udon know me, I’m a softie for a killer udon any given day). The Tempura Udon set here definitely did not disappoint. Served in savoury hot broth with assorted tempura on the side. It’s a fairly simple dish but the crispy and well-battered tempura and soft noodles all make for a truly satisfying meal.
Service is speedy. Staff, friendly. Ishin’s definitely an ideal spot for a quick lunch or dinner.
