One of my favorite Hokkien mee place head to Golden Mile basement where a store exists owned by an old couple. Even before the food the experience is to see the uncle actually making the dry Hokkien mee. If you are hungry be ready to wait a while for the dish to arrive.
The dish is one of the best Hokkien mee I had till day. There are different kind of Hokkien mee found in Singapore and this one is the dry kind. The noodles are cooked in the wok till the point of caramelization and then the seafood is cooked perfectly in the stock which is added at the end just before serving. And you cant miss out their chilli..which ties the dish together with the noodles, eggs and the seafood.
Pro Tip: They have a few dish size but if you a normal eater then you can definitely finish the $5 one. $4 is too small in my opinion
The dish looked better than the menu picture on the wall and tastes ever better. The noodles itself was great with freshly cooked pink prawns and veggies. Overall an amazing simple noodle dish.
Had high expectation from this place but sorry to say it didn't live up to it. The noodles was dry and a bit cheewy. The bbq chicken didn't go well with the dish. The crispy wantons with prawns was the only nice thing about the dish. Overall disappointing. ππ
